Urban Tiger Restaurant & Bar in Isle of Anglesey

Had heard great things about breakfast here but the reality was different. My son wasnt allowed to swap his black pudding for extra bacon. No idea why they have this unhelpful attitude. Makes no sense. No strawberries for the pancakes. Not the end of the world but theres a co-op about290 metres up the bloody road. Coffee was weak and lifeless. Service wasnt the most cheerful. At the end of the day the cooked brekkers and pancakes werent bad but the whole thing didnt feel like a treat at all.

We went to the Urban Tiger on my husband's birthday, and it's a perfect place for a celebration! The food is absolutely delicious (a great choice of East Asian, South American and Mediterranean meals, everything very fresh and topped with fantastic exotic sauces), the cocktail list is huge, the staff are wonderful, and the decoration is a dream for every fan of the cult TV series "Peaky Blinders": there are pictures and posters from the show on all the walls.

However its better inside, the entrance reminds me of thugs lingering to get out of the rain, it was an experience we decided to leave as no one was interested to even give us a menu, ???

Cute little place on first appearance. Good selection in menu, our vegetarian spring rolls were good. Our chicken curries were ok, curry tasted like fish and chipper curry sauce. The men’s bathroom was well below average and the floor needs urgent attention. Only for staff I would have rated below average which is fair and table were sticky and very well worn

This is my first ever food review; not something I do but I was compelled to do so after this experience. We were intrigued by the combination of Asian and South American. Sadly, the food was terrible. The worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Everything was fried and had the same sauce and so all tasted the same. From the Tapas menu we paid £5.25 for 2 tiny spring rolls that you would buy from a supermarket freezer, £5.95 for some battered gloopy Halloumi and various chicken dishes that all had battered fried chicken in them. Our Thai Green Curry stated tender chicken breast on the menu, but it had the same battered and fried chicken that was in all the other dishes. The girl serving us was polite but sadly the food didn't match the service. It was a shame it was so far off the mark, and they still seemed to charge high prices for cheap frozen food. I wouldn't ever recommend going there; sorry.

A bit of a strange and mixed up menu, based on pan Asian fusion, whatever that is supposed to mean? Service was very prompt if somewhat impersonal and some staff giving the impression of not really being bothered. Food is clearly not cooked to order and is just a microwave ping away given the time between our order and it arriving on the table. Having said all that the food was surprisingly good and we enjoyed most of our food. Can't resist some chorizo in red wine, not sure where it fits on the menu, so ordered some of this with our pork, chicken, beef and prawn dishes. The chorizo was so overcooked it was almost burnt and vey greasy, the accompanying garlic bread soft and rubbery (microwave!). Apart from this we enjoyed our food.

Quirky, friendly place, with an odd menu- mix of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Spanish. We went for tapas and it was all just OK. Some of the dishes really weren't great, but some were good. We left wishing we'd gone to an Indian or a Chinese instead. As others have said, the whole place is a bit sticky and dirty and the men's toilets are terrifying once you've got over the hole in the floor. Not a great place, but seems to be the best of a bad bunch in an odd little town. Beers were good and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Service was terrible. Girl sat us on an unclean table. We had to ask for a cloth to wipe it. Took drinks then took forever to come back to take food order. Came out so quick you can tell it was bought in. A few bits was ok but sadly most was horrible I couldn't even eat it. The man's toilet had a hoe in the floor soon as you opened it. No one did a check back or came back to see if wanted more drinks. After we had eaten what was ok. We waited and waited no one came over so went to the bar where the girl said 'what do you want' my reply was 'pay my bill'. She told us to go to the top to pay. I can NOT and won't be recommending this place to anyone. Was so gutted as was recommend to us for an anniversary meal.

Menu was quite extensive for an establishment of this size. We enjoyed our 6 selections and would have liked to try some more. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff - courteous and attentive. From our 4 nights in Anglesey, we tried a number of restaurants and Urban Tiger was a standout. Would thoroughly recommend for small or large groups.

What can I say......... absolutely fantastic. I have no idea what the last review was on about. Staff were really helpful advising us how many to order. Really friendly. Food was amazing. We had salt and pepper pork belly which melted in your mouth, Singapore chilli prawns, brisket bon bons, prawns gambas! Patatas braves with chorizo, garlic mushrooms and rice. Everything was really tasty. Having lived in Spain for several years we love the tapas style of eating. Couldn't fault one dish and the waitress was right in saying 3 each with a side. Great value for money. Wish we had one down on the south coast although could be dangerous..... might be in there too often!!!! Would definitely recommend

People hanging around the doorway. Entrance needed cleaning. Sat at the table the floor all around was dirty needed to be brushed at the very least. I leant on the table and my arm stuck to it! That was the deciding factor… we left. It wasn’t busy I wonder why? Can’t believe the reviews on this site.

Unbelievably bad. No atmosphere. Young waitress who knew absolutely nothing (not her fault). Unsubtle unauthentic seasoning on every dish. Up all night trying to deal with the thirst. Terribly sweet cocktail. False pleasantness of senior staff. Clearly cook had never experienced Asian dishes. How has this place got good reviews?. Complete waste of money. I beg of you NEVER to go here.

We were staying in the Travelodge for the bank holiday weekend and I was keen to get tables booked before we arrived. As soon I saw this place and read the reviews I had to book. Wow, wow, wow!! The food was absolutely delicious. We all ordered 3 dishes each and this was plenty. After we had eaten we indulged in a couple of cocktails each and these were delicious too! I wish that I lived nearer! PS please open a branch in Altrincham 😁

Visited this evening with my family and wow what a treat. The food was absolutely amazing, all of the dishes we ordered were fabulous but we especially loved the Korean tacos (so much so we ordered another portion) and the Mongolian Chicken. Tried to book again for tomorrow night as it was that good! Staff we’re brilliant, very attentive. This restaurant wouldn’t be out of place in central Manchester... it would give any restaurant back home a run for it’s money. Brilliant food, brilliant staff and great atmosphere.

What a fab little place and a real change from other options in Holyhead. Great service, great staff and great food. Recommended completely.

Went during 'eat out' so cheaper than usual. The menu was tapas style and the food was absolutely stunning.

Constantly changing menu, but impresses every time, there is a dish for everyone and it's always cooked to the highest standard, added to the great service from all the staff, this is a place you have to try

Booked a cocktail class for my daughters hen party....Jess was professional, knowledgeable and made everyone laugh! It is an experience I would highly recommended. We also ate there and the food is second to none. We highly recommend Urban Tiger and will definitely go again.

Stumbled onto this place while in Anglesey for the weekend with my Mrs and it was very nice,the food was excellent (and the wine) The Korean chicken was my favourite, lovely atmosphere in the Peaky Blinders themed bar too. I'd highly recommend the place.
