Visited with friends not very busy, on arrival was greeted and before being shown to our table, we were told to wear face masks at any time we had to leave our table. Pity staff do not do the same no face masks worn by any staff at any time. Watched waitress taking food to a table near by and she was clearing her throat could not believe this was happening. Restaurant Staff should not be waiting for new rules to come in on wearing masks they should be doing it now totally unacceptable. And to ask customers to wear them when they are so blatantly not is so appalling. So stop making up your own rules and spitting over people’s food and wear a MASK.

3 of us visited as part of the eat out to help out scheme and we all really enjoyed our 3 courses. Squid was tasty for starter. Kangaroo with red wine jus was nice for the main. The mushrooms, tomato and onion ring were nice but it would've been nice to get something else on the plate and maybe a side included at the price of the kangaroo but I paid the extra to get some spicy chicken. I wasn't sure about going for a dessert but I'm really glad I went for the vegan brownie and blood orange sorbet, really tasty dessert and something a wee bit different. The staff were very attentive and we received good service all night. Quite expensive but enjoyable.

Having read a lot of good reviews, I was looking forward to visiting Uluru. First up, I was very surprised not to see a single staff member wearing a visor or face mask, but that seems to be an Armagh thing. The service was pleasant and efficient. I enjoyed the miso soup starter, but I was a little disappointed by the lamb tagine, which tasted quite bland and more like pub grub than restaurant food. In particular the rice tasted like precooked microwave rice.

Can I start by saying that this is one of my favourite restaurants anywhere and I've previously given rave reviews about the place. Our party of 6 visited last night and on sitting down were told that as the pizza oven wasn't working there were no pizza options or garlic bread. This might not sound that dramatic but at least 3 of our party were planning to have pizza and the 2 vegetarians then felt compelled to take vegeburgers which in my case I felt that this was a lesser option. Everything else was up to the usual excellent standard with the exception of the wine delivery which arrived after 2 of us has finished our main meal. Desserts were amazing as ever and there is a very well planned and executed system for social distancing. I take my reviews seriously and want to emphasise this is a top class restaurant but feel on this occasion I have to reflect on what was less than an optimal experience.

On our day trip from Ards to Armagh on Monday we called into the Uluru for lu ch at 12.00. We were guided to our table by our server who I found out later to be called Jonathan. He showed us the menu. There was just one starter order for me and I had the Squid. The main for my partner was chicken Caesar salad and I went for the kangeroo. Jonathan our server advised me the way the chef like to cook it and I agreed. I found it to be excellent. All the meals were excellent along with the service

It turned March, so I decided Spring had Sprung, "let's go coastal sweetheart", says I, "the sun is beating from the sky, and ain't going nowhere in a hurry"... ( 20 mins later, the clouds could not have looked more sullen and foreboding. And there was no ignoring the only thing 'beating' from the sky at that moment.... Sleet!) suddenly a roof above heads became priority, so a u-turn was executed on the road, and in less than an hour were in the terrific Uluru in Armagh. Now been here a few times and it's simply great. A menu that changes little (hallelujah).. and repeat orders always taste just as good as the last time (rejoice)...the 'bondi burger' is happiness in a brioche, as good as it gets!!!.. I think I like the place.

Uluru used to be quite a special little place (I reviewed it in the past). It moved down into it’s current premises and remained a good place to visit for a nice meal. Unfortunately since Chef Dean moved on, it has become simply ok. The staff are attentive and pleasant, that much has remained the same. A lovely group of people. It’s the food that lets it down. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just that better can be had elsewhere. We went for a meal at Christmas and this was sadly confirmed. A shame really as the staff are great and the setting is very nice.

My mains (chicken) arrived pink (raw) in the middle and my wife’s pasta wasn’t touched as again completely tasteless all on a not so busy Wednesday night. Just out of Uluru for a meal, we went in at 7.40pm (there opening hours say open till 8.30pm), on our arrival we were greeted by a female member of staff saying “I’ll check if we’re still serving”. We were then seated to a table, and she said oh wait I haven’t this cleaned or set yet, I’ll do it now. She then proceeded to say “by the way the pizza oven isn’t working today, it’s just been a nightmare of a day”. We then waited 10mins to order our food and drinks, we already felt like an inconvenience to them. The place was freezing, whether there was no heat on or what, I’m not sure. So after I went out to the car and got my jacket, waited another few minutes and then our food arrived. It couldn’t be faulted, was really tasty and full of flavour. Another female member of staff came down and asked was everything ok, I had set down the two empty coke bottles at the side of the table, she never offered to take them. Then about 10mins later she came back again, asked if everything was ok, I asked her would she mind taking away the empty bottles, and without a lot to do, she took them. They eventually came back and took away our plates, we asked to see the dessert menu. We waited another while on our desserts to come down. I have to say this was one of the worst desserts I’ve ever had, to the point I had two bites of it and had to stop as it made me feel sick. It was something with Bramley Apples, it arrived with some sort of tube thing that you had to squeeze the Carmel sauce out with, this was totally off putting, and the brandy snap basket that it was served in was as hard as the road, to the point it couldn’t be eaten. Overall, I can say we won’t be back as we felt like such an inconvenience on a Sunday evening.

We sat waiting for 15 minutes before being served and whenever I would try to attract the waitress and waiters' attention, they blatantly ignored me and I observed one of the waitresses bad mouthing my mother and I to her colleague. The reception from the staff was extremely callous. I am utterly shocked and disappointed as I have always had a very pleasant experience dining here. Needless to say I will not be back. A very disappointing meal. We paid £40 and the whole meal was shocking. I asked for a decent bottle of white wine and it was warm, even though I waited for ages as “they were chilling it”. The wine didn’t taste right but it was warm so who knows where they keep it. The starter for £8 was very average, some prawns thrown on a bit of lettuce. I asked for a burguer as a main dish as I thought they couldn’t get it wrong. What a mistake! The burguer was too done (not that they asked how I wanted it). It was dry and was rather small. The onion rings were over cooked and inedible. The dessert again was very plain ice cream with little flavour. My wife’s mojito was nothing special, her tacos very plain with vegetables and tomato sauce for £17. Even the brownie was dry in the middle.

Visiting Armagh for the day we came across this restaurant for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, the decor was nice and the food was wonderful. Their food options were the conventional lunch/dessert options for the local market mixed with the unconventional, Aussie options eg Kangaroo meat. Even the ‘conventional’ options had interesting twists eg the lemon tart came with pistachio and the burger had some interesting flavours in it. Great to see restaurants like this in Northern Ireland offering wonderful eating experiences, with slightly different options to the normal lunchtime menu. Would definitely recommend.

Some food items on the menu were not available .. no pizza or garlic bread of any description available. Food quality was very poor. Our daughter got the children's menu and ordered chicken gougons and skinny fries. She got a very small portion, (two chicken gougons) even for a child. We ordered a risotto from what was left of the starters and for the main, fresh cod and chips and Chicken supreme burger. Both were very poor quality and poor taste. Finally, they did advertise that children eat free but only with a reservation. When we tried to make one, it was not allowed!!!! Definitely not value for money. While initial impressions were very good, and the starters were fine with very large portions, the main courses we both had were quite disappointing. The large portions continued through to the main course, but in my case, I had a burger which turned out to be one of those processed burgers rather than proper fresh minced meat. Most of the trimmings were fine, but the rubbery texture of the processed burger spoiled the overall meal. My wife had a chicken dish, which was slightly better but not great. However, this was quickly replaced with disappointment, the waiter lacked basic customer service skills I.e he was unfriendly, discourteous and rude, this was not just to us, we did notice his poor service to another couple. It costs, nothing to smile, be pleasant and acknowledge your customers and not bang items on the table. Food mediocre, batter on my partners fish was soggy, which was disappointing as we witnessed the same order go to another table and it looked great. The food was well cooked and the chicken was very tasty. The drinks were slow in being prepared and being served. There is very little left to remind patrons of the "Uluru" theme. The food while it was good - isn't anything unusual and similar can be seen at most other Restaurants in the area.

Nothing particularly wrong with our visit here. In fairness to them starters were particularly good, kangaroo and feta salad.

Went here on Saturday with my sister and cousins and their partners. We pre ordered our food as there were 9 of us and it was delicious. The service was excellent and we were really well looked after. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was so nice to see everyone again and catch up on news and families. I can thoroughly recommend the kangaroo, cooked to perfection, will definitely go back.

It’s been sometime since I last dined in Uluru and since then they have moved down the hill to much larger premises. Personally I think it has lost some of its character in the transition and the menu is more traditional and less quirky. Food itself is good but nothing exceptional and portion sizes were far too big for us and we ended up eating only half of it. I used to think of Uluru as being a bit different to the norm but now it is just a fairly typical grill - I assume they must appeal to a lager audience to justify the move to bigger premises. Service as ever was very friendly and the wines very good. Still one of the better quality restaurants in Armagh but not so different to the pack now.

Visited here for a beautiful family meal before a theatre show. We didnt have a table booked beforehand but the staff were very accommodating to our requirements. We ordered our meal and hadnt too long to wait until it arrived. Very enjoyable meal was served with expertise. This was our first visit and we will certainly be back to try more of the extensive menu and possibly some of the delightful cocktails.

Went here with family on a Saturday evening for the first time. Even with no booking made, we were instantly given a table. The menu had various meats including veal and kangaroo as well as fish. For vegetarians and vegans there is a small menu available. We opted for a veal dish, salmon and vegetable tacos.

Have been here twice recently... once for an evening meal with friends & then for breakfast-with family. Delighted to say that on both occasions I was pleasantly surprised how well they were able to cater for vegans. They actually had a vegan menu for the meal & it was so good that 3 of us ordered from it (and I am the only actual vegan). At breakfast I was prepared to have only black coffee but the manager (I presume) went above & beyond to ensure I had a lovely vegan breakfast. Even going as far as going to the supermarket behind & bringing me back a choice of dairy free butters & milks! Absolutely delighted as, in most places locally, I’m greeted with ‘the look’ when I ask if they have any vegan options & I’d be lucky to find somewhere that could even give me a coffee with soya milk! Thank you for a lovely & delicious experience.

We were recommended Uluru as a good restaurant in the centre of town. Armagh city centre in the evening seems to empty after the shops close. From what we saw most of the restaurants are either takeaways or not very inviting. Uluru is an exception. It looks quite trendy and was quite busy with a decent buzz. The serving staff were on top of their game - knowledgeable, confident and chatty. For drinks we both went with the recommended Paddle of Beer which has 4 x 1/4 pints of assorted in house Mourne Craft Beers. They were delicious. For starters we had the Soup of the Day(Curried Vegetable) and Pork Belly Nachos. Both were lovely but my Nachos were too big and filling for what was to come on the main course. Neither of us had ever seen kangaroo on a menu before and felt we had to give it a go. I asked for mine medium rare with skinny fries and Bearnaise( a choice of 5 different sauces). My colleague went for Red Wine Jus. We both were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed losing our kangaroo virginity. Again the portions were substantial! Two more paddles of craft beers but unfortunately no room for desert. A very nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and super staff. I would definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to give it a good recommendation.

Portions too large and heavy. Friendly service. Didn't know it had changed hands from original Australian owner when it was up the hill. Noisy and echoey.

Visited on a Tuesday night so the place was really quiet and we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We had really first class service from the staff. The only comment I would make is that I fed to ask for the vegetarian menu- it would be easy enough to include this as an extra page in the main menu, rather than diners having to peruse the main menu, discover there were no vegetarian options on there and then ask for the vegetarian food. Anyway, the food and wine were first class, including a really lovely vegetarian meal.

Went here for easter Sunday with the family all got a starter witch was fine and a main husband got a silver side beef which was dry and inedible and I got the turkey and ham again it was dry it came with stuffing I found it had a nasty taste to it when I gave my baby a mouthful of mash there was a small bit of stuffing in it he spat the whole thing out the food wasn't even hot as I expected. We made a complaint about the food and all we got offered was a free desert and we told them that we didn't want any. And still got charged full price for what you pay you expect a lot higher quality of food

Absolutely amazing food! Very Fresh and loaded with Flavour!! We paid £7.50 for their Gyros L and it was humungus!! so so filling but so tasty! The owners are so lovely and patient. They haven't got the best english but work very hard to make sure you are satisfied with your food. They also deliver! Best hangover cure about lol

It was pouring rain on a Monday morning when we arrived here In Poyntzpass on a recommendation. We didn’t know this independent place existed. This is a small village about 8 miles from Newry and this cafe is almost adjacent to the old canal towpath, which is part of the Ulster Way so hikers, bikers and walkers are a mainstay of their business. Like many places they currently offer the current government eat out to help out deal that ends at the end of August 2020. It’s about the only popular thing this lousy government has done in its first year in power. So we sat in and it was really cosy and homely. We were captivated by the sophisticated and shiny coffee machine - apparently it was only installed yesterday. The owner explained the inner workings of this contraption and I was impressed with the technology behind our coffee. We ordered large cappuccinos, one toasted chicken & pineapple toastie with side salad and one poached eggs (2) with avocado mash on sourdough with chilli flakes. All in all £8.5 for two. The service was ace and it’s really worth a visit or several.
