Thistle Dae Nicely in Fife

Lunched here on Saturday afternoon with 2 friends . We explained we only wanted a light bite and it was okay to share . The king tiger prawns were the juiciest , fattest , most succulent prawns I have tasted in a long time . The haggis bon bons were scrumptious too , as was the sticky toffee pud . Ronan our server was simply ace and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. Can’t fault it . We will certainly return .

We enjoyed excellent food. Restaurant was surprisingly quiet but we enjoyed our evening there Italian red wine was superb.

Where do I start....... From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Ronan the general manager who was so nice and friendly.. We were seated and ordered drinks. Raspberry Daiquiri was delicious. Chef surprised us with a little Bruschetta which was sooo good. Hubby had the Puerto Rican Empanadas then the Flat iron steak pie and I had the Texas BBQ ribs both were absolutely delicious. Michal the chef came out to thank us for coming such a nice guy. Highly recommended this place

Excellent meal at TDN, food all freshly made and served to a high standard. Nice added touch of complementary appetiser as you wait. Portion sizes are the right balance for fine dining and menu has a good amount of selection. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Be prepared to wait between courses as everything is freshly made by the chef but definitely worth the wait. Looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I ate here and I’ve promoted it amongst family and friends since. The food was delicious and really well presented. I had scallops, duck and cheesecake. Each course was full of flavour and the service from staff was superb - even the chef came out afterwards to talk to us. First class!

Came for dinner tonight. The food was outstanding. Every course was delicious. I genuinely don't have words to do justice to how good the meal we both had was. The staff were terrific also. I recommend this place very highly. It is like a little hidden gem. Come and eat here you will not be disappointed.

Delicious and creative food - worthy of a top-class restaurant - set in a comfortable and casual atmosphere. The lamb with dauphinoise is spectacular, and every dish was faultless. The service is superb, yet relaxed. There was a slight delay with our food, but was explained, apologised for, and we rewarded with a round of drinks to compensate. I can’t recommend Thistle Dae Nicely highly enough, it deserves to be busy every night.

Excellent food, extremely friendly staff. The food was well presented, served nice and hot and all with a great attention to detail. Clearly created by someone who cares what he’s doing. Highly recommended!

First time eating here, starters were amazing, the steak pie was nice and tender and the sticky toffee pudding was to die, very generous portion sizes.

A hidden gem of a place! We were recommended by a friend to try here and it was just superb. We have returned a few times now and every time the staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean and playing good music and the food - what can I say! It is the best. We have tried many items on the menu now and it is all beautifully presented and tastes out of this world. My husband can be a fussy eater as well as my 2 children but we all love it. There is a kids menu as well as the normal menu and plenty to choose from. You have to give it a try - you will not be disappointed.

Our "spur of the moment" booking was our first visit to Thistle Dae Nicely, and we will definitely be back. Our group included a burger connoisseur, a teenager and a fussy pescatarian and we ALL enjoyed our meals. The battered fish was light and delicious, and the sticky toffee pudding was the "proper" recipe with the dates. The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef obviously takes a pride in what he is doing. Thank you TDN.

Most appalling meal ever Diabolical service, 1 hour wait for main course, starters served on basic dishes, no presentation. Was there with my husband and sister for a memorial dinner for my late mum. The main course burgers were served after 1 hour wait 1 was raw the other overdone. Then we were overcharged for drinks. Been here several times, will definitely not go back. Appalling service and food was inedible, very very disappointed

Sunday lunch - an excellent meal enjoyed by all 4 of us. Fish and chips, sesame chicken and halloumi salads enjoyed very much by us all. Super staff and the lovely meal was a credit to them all. Will definitely return.

Our first visit to this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Nice clean premises where diligent staff look after your comfort and dining requirements. All the courses we chose where quality, taste and quantity were faultless. This restaurant opened during the tail end of the Pandemic and could do with more advertising to help this 'Little Gem' succeed. To this end, the Web site needs to be beefed up and menus put on view. Don't rely on Facebook as your main information platform. Milton of Balgonie is one of the sleepy hollows in Fife and deserves a place like this, to succeed. There is a good choice of drinks from the bar and a good varied menu. The floor layout is well spaced out and bright. Toilets were spotless. We met the Manager/Chef, who was a charming man who will no doubt be successful in his venture. We'll be back before long, you can count on that!.
