Theodore's in Isle of Anglesey

We’ve been a few times, for tapas and for Sunday lunch. Food is consistently top notch, the Sunday roast is the best around! Great for a date night or a family meal, highly reccomend.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews but feel I have no choice after our visit to Theodore’s. First of all, we had to leave our coats on all night as it was so cold, you don’t go to a restaurant to eat in your coat. Food was ok but not worth the expensive prices. They have also stopped serving tea and coffee which is dissappointing. The biggest negativity had to be the hospitality or the lack of it. This place was supposed to be open until 11pm but 9pm arrived and one of the front of house staff came over and asked if we wanted the bill, seconds after we had finished our meal. We said no and ordered more refreshments. By 9:15 the staff had started to put their coats on despite the fact that there were customers still there. I was totally shocked that a few seconds later they dimmed the lights and started closing up. We felt so uncomfortable that we left our refreshments and payed our bill. The whole team including the owner could benefit from a customer service course. As it was still early we headed to the nearby Victoria Hotel were we received a warm welcome in a warm building!!

Have visited on a number of occasions and never been disappointed, whether it be Tapas, Sunday dinner or Christmas dinner. And the staff are very welcoming and work really hard. Love the vibe there too. Really great addition to Menai Bridge.

OK first I ordered seafood chowder for starter was delicious needed bread for the lobster bisque but boom then came the family's tapas lamb shoulder brocoli prawn gambas black pudding 2 pork belly rocked up but we ordered one we ate it but was salty and burnt but we were hungry. Everything else was delicious I ordered sea bass. I asked if it was local and was told it was so was happy 1 hour 45 it rocked up over cooked quite sure it had been deep fried so sent it back 25 mins later I walk to the bar to say cancel an it rocks up skin side down in the sauce, biggest no no with crispy skin then I had a bite and realised was burnt but... the little fella was still hungry and cracked on 180 quid for 3 people I should of checked the bill proper tbh because even tho we drank a few that's expensive.

We’ve been here numerous times and keep coming back! During this visit we had the tapas and all dishes were all amazing, i highly recommend the salt & chilli garlic bread, halloumi and the meatballs. Previously we’ve had Sunday lunch here too which I would also highly recommend :)

Called to book a last min table with some friends this evening.. food was amazing I had the chicken supreme, my friend had the burger an others went for tapas.. all really enjoyed definitely be back.

This place could win an award for the worst service in history. I’m a nice person and usually don’t complain, but the owners, managers and most important people that pay money to chi to eat here, should know. Give your staff some sort of training!!! I went to fine with my family, 5 of us, including 2 kids. Been seated, 15 minutes later after seeing waitress just walking around had to go ask to take our drink orders. No knowledge of any drinks. Food order - mains: steak, cut of the day. Fish - cut of the day, risotto of the day. Waitress comes I ask, what’s any of these meals are, she has no idea. Goes to check to the kitchen. I order fish of the day, ask what comes with it. She has no idea. Goes to check in a kitchen. Ordering for the kids: trying to figure out what they could eat, all of a sudden she mentions kids menu. Oh okay, that would have been helpful when we sat down. Any question asked had been answered: I don’t know, I’m not sure, maybe. Not to mention waitress chewing on her nails whilst taking an order. Good was okay, but nothing impressive, steak was dry and chewy, as we didn’t even know the cut we ate served and what temperature to have it, and it’s quite pricy. Asked for ketchup, never received it, asked for salt, had to go to get it from other table that finished eating. It’s just super bad. I don’t understand how someone can own a business and just don’t care about it at all and just expect to be paid. If that’s the situation at the front of the house I don’t even wanna know what’s happening at the back of the house. Oh yeah, I agree with other reviews, that it’s just too cold. My mum had to have a coat on to eat. Should have known not to expect anything from a place that decorates a restaurant with IKEA plushy toy. AVOID AVOID AVOID

For us, this was really disappointing!!!! We walked in for our pre booked table only to be completely ignored… Staff saw us, but we weren’t acknowledged (only 1 table occupied so they weren’t busy) We were taken to a table/booth at the front - where it was freezing and I remained in my coat the whole time we were there No specials were mentioned at the time of us being handed our menus, we had to ask - at which point the waitress had to go and check with the kitchen staff We all placed our orders and then sat chatting between ourselves… Around 5 mins or so later, the waitress came back and told us there was no chicken No apology, nothing 3 of the party had ordered chicken 🫤 Choices changed and then we waited… I’d requested no chorizo in with my prawns (I’d chosen 3 tapas dishes) - yet when it came, it had chorizo in The waitress took them back (again a lack of apology), and brought a fresh one after about 5 mins - nothing much to write home about if I’m completely honest, and the onions in the dish were undercooked The Ribs were amazing!!!!! Burger was ok Chilli beef was that spicy that our friend couldn’t eat it and had to swap with her hubby 😳 All in all a pretty poor experience really Don’t think we will be returning again… Sorry guys

As always cannot fault the food, it was lovely.Very disapointed again with the seating as we asked to sit at the far end, but were given the table in the front, and we were chilled to the bone. This is the second time i have had to eat with my coat on .We asked for the heating to be turned on , to be told that they had asked but nothing done about it.Therefore i will not be returning untill the weather improves as it totaly spoilt the evening.We had to wait 1hr for the food which came in dribs and drabs.We did not have pud as we just wanted to go home to warm up and have a coffee ,as they do not serve hot drinks anymore either .

First time here but slightly disappointed. Place was cold and we sat all evening with coats on which was not relaxing. Decor quite basic. Food was actually quite good, crayfish starter delicious, chilli chicken too hot for me ( maybe warn on menu). Not a cheap place and felt atmosphere was lacking. Not sure we'll be rushing back.

Having visited last year and had an excellent meal decided to rebook. How can things change so much in 12 months. Food was appalling. We will not be coming back.

Well, what can I say, John Evans who’s given this establishment a massive 4.8 must have visited on a poor day. The wife and I attended here for the first time tonight, last time it was under the HydeOut banner which was several years ago. Greeted at the door by three friendly members of staff. Was shown to our table and a drinks order was taken not long after that. It was quiet for a Saturday night at 17:45, but gradually filled up as the evening went along. First impression of the menu, can I have one of each? As I was just so indecisive of what to have. The wife opted for the tapas knowing damn well I’d help her with it. I had the crispy beef with duo of rice, oh, and a tapas portion of the garlic potato’s brava’s (I like my food). The flavours bouncing around my tongue from this dish were like a mouthful of exploding candy, absolutely delicious! The wife had, crispy chicken, Parmesan fries, garlic mushrooms and the halloumi ( we love squeaky cheese as a family) so that went down a treat, so, I also helped her with all this dishes too. No, I’m not an overweight person if you hit by what I eat, you probably think I am! We absolutely loved tonight’s food and will be returning very soon to see Richard and team in action! The wife hasn’t had her takeaway Ferrero Rocher cheesecake yet that you kindly let us takeaway! Keep up the good work, best foodie place we’ve been to in a long time on the island! P.S. Very disappointing food and even more disappointing to find the Owner/head chef was not present which we guessed was not planned. All front of house staff were great and we guessed kitchen staff were doing their best but we think all of them had perhaps found themselves in very difficult circumstances. Our dissatisfaction with the food was dealt with professionally and very pleasantly with the outcome to our satisfaction. Previously we have had very good meals there,but sadly we will not be returning

We booked a table for 7:30 at Theodores. Our tapas order was taken at 7:45 but unfortunately we didn’t receive any food on the table before 9:10…..in this time we’d seen many tables that arrived after us receive their meals and had already finished our bottle of wine. Once we’d received our meals, we were not blown away by the food, especially considering the price point. The waiting staff were very apologetic, one even said that “tonight has been a shambles” this being said, we still had to pay £100+ for our experience. Safe to say, we will not be returning.

We booked this for the weekend after valentines and was really looking forward to going a we had heard such good things about the place and wow did they not disappoint. We decided to go for the tapas option and chose 6 dishes between us and we both agreed that we had never tasted such delicious food ever. The Parnassian fries and salt and chilli garlic bread was really good but the show stopper had to be the teriyaki steak off the specials wow! Wow! Wow! I would highly recommend here and no doubt would govt it a 10/10. We are already looking at when we can go again.

Visited mid January, mid week for some tapas. Oh my days - it was amazing! So good we didnt want to leave anything behind and asked for a takeaway box! Loved the food, venue, staff and everything in between. The owner / head chef took time to chat to us and explained the history behind Theodores💞. Well recommended and will definitely returm. If you're looking for an awesome experience of great food and great service, then look no further than Theodores!. Me and my partner came here for my 25th birthday, and we were majorly impressed from the offset. We were greeted and sat down within 10 seconds of walking through the door. We eventually (there was too many things we fancied on the menu!) Opted for a tapas, which in our case consisted of the best garlic mushrooms ever!, bread and oils, parmesan fries, patatas bravas anz the belly pork! (So nice i ordered it twice!). The drinks were also amazing, i don't remember the last time i had a pint of that quality (highly reccomend the shipyard on draught!) Absolutely stone cold, lovely! We'd like to thank Rich and all the very attentive staff for absolutely making my night, we will definitely return. All the best for the future.

Delicious food! The staff are very well clued on their gluten frrr knowledge, and there are soo many tapas options to pick from!! I just wish they’d bring back the gluten free brownie that was so bloody good!

I love a roast dinner, but don’t go out for them much cos truthfully I’d rather not pay for something I can often do better myself. I can’t do better and neither can most chefs - exceptional gravy, succulent meat, tasty veg. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a thoroughly wonderful meal. Icing on the cake - the chef/owner gave me a tub of gravy to take home with me - now to decide what meal to make that is worth of this nectar!
