The Valley in Ards

I travelled quite a distance to Happy Valley in Comber as we are away down the Ards Peninsula. I was in just over a week ago and we got a portion of prawn crackers given to us while we waited on our meal which was a nice gesture. Tonight we did not get any. The place was really cold. I could not even feel my legs. The mirrors on the wall had liquid marks running down them. I was really disappointed. 😞

Oh dear! Never had it this poor before. Had to hunt for the chicken in chicken fried rice. Quantity reduced too. One and a half hour wait for delivery.

Great take away. Reasonably priced and the food is good. They also take card payments!

Waiting 2 hours for order never arrived told it would be 5 minutes never arrived cancelled order and arrived in last ten minutes, guess what ordered from another, someone enjoy what I ordered

Used to be my regular, but after my last 2 experiences of waiting 70-90 mins for food and it being poor i wont be back.

Only Chinese that does home delivery in the village, to my knowledge. I love their pork fillet

Untidy Service, dressed poorly. Owner is Clueless.... No Salt, Pepper and Soy Sauce on the Table, as Previous Owners have had for this past 40 years.

Didn't sit in . I got a special satay and it was the nicest satay I've had ... Also have had the curry and black bean sauce..... Very yummy....

Most strangest Peking sauce tasted like the cheep honey chilli sauce with a splash of Peking thrown in. If people are not aware honey chilli and sweet and sour is usually made of vinegar lots and lots of sugar and robinsons orange and pineapple squash. If you're looking for an authentic Chinese look elsewhere. One last critique is if you ask for half and half they give u it in a tiny plastic box and is really small much better value getting it with chips and buy a rice as an extra side.

Chips are really bad we ha e had to put them in the bin last couple of weeks they looked like they had been reheated soggy mess

Came up from Killinchy to try this place. Food was ready for collection when I arrived and still nice and hot when I got it home. Good sized portions and very tasty. The only issue is the waiting area had 5 people in 2 square meters...during lockdown this was uncomfortable.

Food lovely, older girl bad mouthing customers Infront of other customers though, not a great look. More customer service from a damp cloth.

A big thank you to Peter and his staff for an excellent carry out meal.Tonight was exceptionally busy with deliveries and carry outs.Despite the mayhem with so many orders coming in and going out ,the staff were brilliant and sorted my order after a short delay. Big thank you to the chefs for a great meal under pressure to deliver.

Went in tonight for my mums birthday, One of the best Chinese restaurants I've visited, very authentic and have to mention the hot and sour soup best I've had great portions and flavours plus real chicken not the frozen processed type you get in some currys. The owner was very polite and attentive, very impressed will be back again, thank you.

Amazing food. Coping well with the virus, social distance is not a problem. Will be back. 😉

I have been going to The Happy Valley in Comber for 39 years. Always good food and excellent service. Even the home deliver is very goo and delivered promptly.

An hour and a half for a delivery up the street absolute joke no apology. Wont be using this Chinese ever again very poor.

I enjoyed my meal here. The food was nice and the service was good. Perhaps not a good idea for the owners to do the accounting on a table amongst the customers during opening hours. A bit odd. The atmosphere was lively and active with a group celebrating a special occasion also in the restaurant at the same time.

Brilliant every time, gets really busy for deliveries at the weekend so either order well in advance of when you want your food or collect it yourself.

I have been ordering takeaway from Thai Cuisine for quite a while now when I'm in work (in a care home). They do a great value 2 chicken or beef meals for £9.90 Mon-Thurs. Ordered same on Christmas Eve & it cost £14.40. When asked if the deal was off they said no..,.just ripped off customers who have supported them all year. Not happy. Maybe order in future off just eat where Thai Cuisine can pay their 12% commission.

In my experience its rare to find a takeaway that do good Thai dishes as traditional chinese don't seem to be able to reproduce the flavours correctly. Tried this place on Friday night on the recommendation of friends and it was amazing ! Delicious red curry and pad thai with top quality ingredients and at the same reasonable price as the chinese meals - again a rarity as both Indian and Thai takeaways always charge more for their meals despite largely having the same ingredients with a different sauce ! This will definitely be a weekly visit from now on !

Very greecy an bland food, wouldn't order from here again pity could do with a good Chinese this isn't it everything was very greecy and no flavor my partner had chips with his an they were awful was delivered in good time but unfortunately not worth it

Have got from them for 3 years. Pretty decent for chicken curry and salted chilly chicken. But after them going to the wrong address; the wrong chinese arriving 2hrs later and the owner hanging up on me for asking for a simple refund for the meal that was missing (arrived 30mins after we actually got our late chinese) is very disappointing. In my opinion it would be good customer service to at least offer a refund for the meal that was missing, wasnt asking for much seeing we have ordered from them for 3 years. Its not the money that bothers me its the principle. Sadly wont be ordering from there again. Your loss Happy Valley.

Absolute hole. Used this place for ages as I live in Comber and food wise it's the best in the town. However, over a number of months mistakes were continually made; wrong order being delivered to the house, things missing from orders, cold food being delivered, etc etc. I generally tried to ignore the mistakes and let things go until recently when a mistake was made for about the 6th time in 3 months (we get a delivery once a week). I demanded to speak with a manager on the phone but was told they were too busy and they hung up on me. I was making the point that we had never received any apology or any compensation for the awful service but they did not care one bit. In fact the only person who actually cared was the delivery driver and the takeaway itself seemed happy to distance themselves from the driver, pointing out that none of the mistakes were their fault, but that the fault lay with the driver. This is a takeaway that only gets business because there are no other decent Chinese takeaways in the town. The way they run their business is shocking. I should also point out that the aforementioned delivery driver called to our house in the week following te last mistake to apologise and to encourage us to use the takeaway again. I appreciated this gesture but told him I would not be using the service unless I received a call from someone in charge at the takeaway itself. 3 weeks down the line and I've heard absolutely nothing. Talk about valuing your customers. I could never say anything negative about the standard of the food, but as for the service and the general treatment of paying customers...Absolutely horrible!

Used quite often..always good and quality food. Appropriately priced and recently refurbished for sitting in.

Awful!!!! Placed an order for delivery. They sent the completely wrong order. I immediately called them and told them of the error and they claimed they would send the correct order, I kept the incorrect one for them to take back. They never did rectify the error nor did they collect the wrong order which was later binned. Useless 'lady' on the phone couldn't have cared less. I will never use this take away service again!!!!!!

Actual name of restarant is Happy Valley. We love Chinese food, and have found this locally owned and operated restaurant to have the best Chinese food in Northenrn Ireland! This is actually a nice, comfortable sit-in restaurant with take out and delivery available, not a take out with just a couple of booths stuck in some corner with plastic utensils and paper plates.. We have tried several starters and mains and have found them all delicious. Everything is cooked to order, not pre-cooked so look forward to fresh, hot food and a relaxing meal. The service is excellent, and the servings are generous.
