Christina could not have been more helpful when we were aranging our wedding reception. The whole event went without a hitch at Raiford URC Church hall and here team liased with caretaking staff on the premises. All dietary requirements were met , including the last minute changes. The charge of about £30 / person was very reasonable for a quality meal - Thanks Ninian & lesley.

Excellent, friendly service and even better sandwiches and cakes. Hot tea and coffee provided and all served with a smile too. Very accommodating and adaptable they even made up special plates of food for those with allergies.

The Tartan Tea Room is a lovely little place for snacks but has probably suffered from being a little outside of the main part of the village. The food and service is always excellent and the additional catering that can be provided for parties is definitely worth taking advantage of.

My usual haunt in Rainford was closed "due to electrical problems" forcing me to try this place instead...and how glad am I? Being a fan of the full English Breakfast I opted for the "Mega Breakfast" which turned out to be something truly special. It wasn't just the quantity or quality of the ingredients, which was to be expected for the asking price of £8, but the quality of the cooking. This may sound a strange thing to say since the full English breakfast is hardly haute cuisine, but it's actually the cooking of the ingredients which usually lets the breakfast down. Not in this place. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection - in particular the black pudding which is all too often cremated by squeamish cooks who fail to understand that its a cooked product before they even slap it in the frying pan or under the grill! Here at the Tartan Tea room the black pudding slices (2) were perfect - crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The poached eggs were perfect too - not at all snotty but with golden oozing yolks which spilled out opulently onto the also perfectly cooked fried bread...add to this two really great quality sausages, 4 rashers of deliciously flavoursome bacon...superbly cooked mushrooms, a mountain of beans and a couple of grilled tomatoes...and a real choice of toast. Not just white or brown, but also granary. Only small improvement would have been to offer an extra pat or two of butter which should be possible at £8. Also surprised that a drink was not included at that price, so overall bill came to £9.20 including a pot of tea. Not cheap, but memorable for all the right reasons. I strongly encourage you to check out this place at your earliest convenience!

Came here for the first time, usually go to Kaspas down the road but the service isn’t the best, the lad serving was really helpful and made us some amazing waffles! Doughnuts looked great too. My boyfriend got the mini s’mores cookie dough and it looked amazing, cute little shop everyone should try for a treat :)

This is my favourite place to have breakfast. The venue, the staff and the food are excellent. My partner always gets the full english which was perfectly cooked as usual. I got the smashed avocado on toast and added 2 poached eggs, it comes with a gorgeous salsa which really really adds to it. I chose the brown bread, it was two big fat slices and kind of granary bread? Loved it. Quality ingredients, nice atmosphere and lovely staff. We'll obviously be coming back, well done. One thing to note: wait at the board to be seated otherwise they won't know you're there.
