The Stinky Chef in Rossendale

Disappointing and overpriced. Asked for a specific hamper to be put together and, despite many messages, wasn’t told what it would contain. Until it arrived I had no idea what was in it. Was let down on picking up from Tre Ciccio so it was delivered by a member of staff to my house. and I had to pay for it there and then, as he was just the messenger. I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfactionti ‘The Stinky Chef’ with no real attention to customer service or satisfaction. Luckily we had items we had already purchased that we could use to complete the hamper and make it gift worthy. Do not recommend

Found this hidden gem for the first time today and wow! We will be back. Amazing atmosphere and service. Felt like walking into a friend's shop. We had the two best selling sandwiches and they are HUGE! Just polished off the Mrs' remaining half she couldn't eat and tasted even better 8 hours later. SEE YOU AGAIN SOON

A friend recommended this place and I’ve gotta say, I was blown away by the service. Despite being busy and having a constant flow of customers, the staff were attentive, friendly, accommodating, pleasant and knowledgeable. This level of customer service is so rare these days. I bought a load of cheeses for Christmas and despite spending more than I intended, I seemed to get a lot, so I would say the prices seem reasonable. I hear they make excellent sandwiches too, so I’ll definitely be back

Brilliant little deli, with an impressive selection of cheeses! James and Nadia are lovely, very chatty and knowledgeable. If you have time, stop in to try a dish from the ever-changing menu - the generous portions and innovative recipes will make it worth your while!

First time visit for me and friend to The Stinky Chef (great title... name is explained in his (James Gingell) book "I Think I Want To Be A Chef") and certainly not the last. Ordered a (surprise me!) pasta dish..not sure what we wanted so asked Stinky to make one up and wasn't disappointed, DELIicious.

Passed all the other generic cafés on the main stretch and happily stumbled upon this gem. You can tell before you enter that the folks who run the place are passionate about food, but even so, the soup I ordered surpassed my expectations. They gave me a couple of samples from their deli counter too. Delicious food and great conversation as well. Highly recommended.

Beat sandwiches for miles! The Italian Club is AMAZING! James and staff cannot do enough for you, fantastic service. Deli counter is a feast for the eyes, all quality food! Can't wait to go again!

I popped in quite late on a rainy day, bedraggled and hungry and had such a lovely experience here - the soup was absolutely divine and the chef/proprietor was so friendly. I'm really looking forward to going back to try some more dishes.

Love going here, the food is always creative and packed with flavour. Prices are very fair for the portion sizes and great options for veggies and vegans. The potato salad is my personal favourite. The sandwiches are huge.

Amazing place. It's obvious Nadia and James have a massive passion for food. Everything is so fresh and flavorful and obviously made with love. I'd highly recommend this lovely Deli!

We had the shared meat box. When we got it home we let it stand to come to room temperature. OMG it was amazing, the cheeses were ripe,the meats delicious everything was just perfect. We just happened to have a lovely bottle of red to go with it. All at a very good price . We will see you again .

If you like food made with love and care, this is your place. Simple menu that changes each week. I could enthuse about this place but I would recommend you go.

What an amazing place! Visited here for lunch with my dad - the sandwiches are amazing and the salad of the week was really delicious. The servers were really friendly and accommodating, we will definitely be returning here. Thanks for a lovely lunch :)

Excellent deli serving cooked food in Rawtenstall. My pizza (Pinsa Sud) was delicious and my wife loved her Gnocchi alla Sorrentina.

We trekked over from Salford especially to visit after a recommendation from a friend and it was well worth it. They had a great selection of Italian salami and cheese and the Nduja sausage roll was amazing. As someone who has drank coffee all over Italy I was dubious about their Italian coffee claim, reproducing 'proper' Italian coffee is very difficult, but I have to say they nailed it. Looking forward to going back soon.

A great service from friendly staff. There’s a wide selection on the menu board which promises everyone’s tastes are satisfied. The sandwiches are bursting with flavour.
