The Peking House in Fife

It's so sad as I've always got my food from here, but tonight it was god awful!! The chicken balls were 3 inchs thick with batter , the outside batter was burnt and black at the ends!!! However thought there might be a silver lining but the king prawn noodles were dry!! Zero sauce in it at all.... I Will Never be back, lovely guy but food isn't fit for human consumption

I called up and checked ahead if my dish was gluten free, and told yes. (Honey chili chicken.) I included in every item of my order in the special instructions, that i have celiacs disease. (Which were read and honoured as i got salt and pepper chips with my omelette, instead of plain that i paid in cash the £2 addition upon delivery for. As well as adding extra honey to my sauce.) I added not to include any flour or soy sauce to ANY of my dishes as it contains gluten. I also included my phone number, and invited them to call me if there was any questions or issue to accomodate this. 10 minutes into eating and i'm in a lot of pain with severe abdominal bloating. The food itself is okay... The honey chili sauce is still pretty bland and without any heat. The fried vegetables are soggy with a lack of diversity (It's 90% beansprouts. Which i like! But they are very sad looking.) The egg fried rice is very good. But unfortunately, that's because it's been fried with SOY SAUCE! which i couldn't have been clearer i cannot eat and not to add! This isnt the first time i've been violated this way. It seems that there may be a cultural difference in attitudes and education towards allergies/food intolerances where business think that if it's "Just a little." it's negligible. It ISN'T! It isn't just chinese restraunt owners i've had issues with, but i've had the most issues with in this regard. The lady who answered the phone when i called to ask was polite, but there was definitely some barrier in language, or perhaps more in understanding of what gluten intolerance is, and which if their dishes/ingredients contain it. I made sure to keep my intructions very short, clear and simple in my request online so is could easily be understood. There's no excuse for this other than a lack of education and care! It's more than just an upset stomach. This is an autoimmune disease, that when exposed to gluten, sets of a chain reaction of symptoms. If you cannot guarantee safety. Take accountability and state that, instead of putting customers at risk PLEASE! I'm never taking the risk and ordering a takeaway again, from this business or any other as i'm quite literally sick of being gluten contaminated.

If you haven’t been get ur ass up there. Food was amazing nice decorations good atmosphere. Service bit slow and server didn’t understand me the best. But nothing to complain about was really good value for money. 8.5/10

The rice was bland, Chicken chow mein tasted like water and was also burnt, satay chicken and the sad excuse for king prawns was like eating rubber, all of the food was bland, they used the cheapest prawn crackers I have ever tasted. Possibly the worst meal I’ve ever eaten, would not feed a dog this food. Will NOT be back. word of advice, if you ever order from here flush it down the toilet or chuck it in the bin. Also there was stairs to walk into the building so citizens in wheelchairs could not access the premises, in my opinion this is very ablest

Hadnt had a chinese meal for a while ordered on phone 1 hour later food was cold chips were rubbery ,foo ying was just horrible hardly any chicken in it and what was in it was dry waste of money wont be back

Had a fantastic meal at The Peking House! 🥢 Their cuisine is top-notch, and the staff is welcoming. 🍜 If you're craving Chinese food in the area, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! 👍🏼

I asked for boiled rice got fried rice, chips were like rubber like it was lastnights chips and curry sauce was salty. Went in the bin, was rotten. Won't be back

Unbelievably fast delivery. Very nice man who delivered, a nice smile on his face. The food was delicious, not too salty which meant you can choose how salty your Chinese is which is a bonus IMO. Only thing I’d say is to change the packaging the salt & chilli chips came in, slightly soggy but we’re still delicious - the portion was a little small aswell, for £4.50. However that didn’t let us enjoy it any less! I‘ll order from here again.

Spent £35 on their food and every bit happy with it. Actually very decent Cantonese food. Chicken in chilli and garlic sauce, "Szechuan beef", wings and Spring roll. Would give six stars if we could. AMAZING FOOD. Much better Chinese food than England. Not bland, sloppy flavoured goop. Entertaining sidenote: The delivery driver got lost and claimed our postcode was wrong and that we owed more money for delivery (we didn't, it was just an awkward delivery address and the restaurant accepted it in the first place). After getting lost and when he eventually arrived, man oh man, he was super duper angry. He tried to hold our food hostage for more cashy monies. When my husband reminded him he was holding £35 worth of food we had already paid for on JustEat, and he wasn't allowed to just steal our food. He kind of got madder. He proceeded to shout at my husband " you owe ME Four Pounds" in a comedically evocative accent and for an unpredictably long time, I could hear the shouting from inside, not only could I hear it, bystanders were agogue and squirrels came down from their trees to watch. It's now become an oft repeated anecdote. Thank you driver.

I love chinese food especially when it's authentic. Although this small takeaway restaurant doesn't look especially appealing from the outside, you'll not be disappointed with the quality of the food. Very friendly husband and wife owners. Certainly in my top 5 chinese takeaways' in Fife. Well done!

I wish I tried special fried rice earlier. It was exactly what I fancied - a mix of everything with omelette and a gravy on the top. Good food for a good price.

Tried 3 times. First time chips anf rice was odd. 2nd time chips some cooked some over cooked. Rice was slimy. Last chance and my god. Soup was like dish water. The special fried rice had a very strange smell. Kids couldn't eat. I my self couldn't eat. Prawn crackers where like soft no crunch

Really love the food here. People are nice, orders made quick and delicious. Father here visiting and is super picky- he loved the food too. A+ in my book :)

Probably the best Chinese in town

This Chinese is the best .freindly staff and you can watch them cook yer dinner . Good show the peking house lesley 5 stars from me and her.

Very disappointed after giving the place more than a second chance to get order correct . On a few occasions i asked for extra mushrooms i was willing to pay extra. On this last order i called i received even less mushrooms than before. I will not call up for another order at this Chinese.
