After one of the most memorable rounds of golf I have ever played with my son we met up with his wife and my wife who is his mother, at Niblick. I had the Hake over mussels which I don’t see on the standard menu online. It was the best meal I had on our trip to Scotland!!! I’m in search of the recipe but if we must return to Niblick from Texas to find it, then so be it!

This restaurant overlooks the 18th hole of the old golf course. We grabbed a window seat with a great view. It’s right above the Golf Museum. Service was amazing. I was taking my time eating the soup and both the waitress and chef noticed, and delayed the entree’s from being delivered table side until I was done with the soup. In the US they would’ve brought all the food whether I was done with the soup or not. 5 Stars in service! As far as the food goes, it was delicious. We both had the beetroot vegan feta ravioli. Presentation was perfect, the dish had a nice colorful combination of healthy food items and the ravioli was cooked perfectly. I am a slow eater and never felt rushed. When in St Andrew, you must visit this quaint little eatery! You won’t be sorry.

I read a lot of the reviews from different people. This is my review from my experience. When I got in the ambiance of the place is a relaxed atmosphere, fresh and layed back. I liked how that felt, the food came to the table quickly, I got the Chicken Katsu burger. It was very good from my experience, I've had different kinds of chicken katsu and I enjoyed this version of it. The service took a while to bring the check, I could look at this as slow, but given the atmosphere of the place, this is a place you go to chat and visit and slowly enjoy your food, so if you are in a bit of a hurry then this would not be the place to stop. Overall my experience with staff wait and food was good. I also liked the fact that they allowed someone to bring their dog in. It did not bother me at all.

I had an issue with the treatment we received at Niblick and called us entitled but we’d worked so hard all week and we wanted was a nice family dinner at one of the most celebrated locations. It went a bit wrong but The manager Claire was quick to review the feedback I had last left that I will now change as the issue was dealt with well. Better late than never. Miscommunication often sets a rather gloomy and embarrassing tone to an outing, so glad to know the feedback was well received and taken care of. My rating on service will remain until our next opportunity to dine with Niblick.

We came in for a heavy snack before dinner and I was surprised the food was so delicious. I got the mac and cheese which came with so much bread and tomatoes that I had enough for bruschetta too. My husband got the cullen skink soup which he said was just like fish chowder. It also came with delicious bread. My husband got a decaf cappuccino and I got a latte. They were both delicious!

Be warned if you get a 15.45 reservation on a Sunday you will be harassed and harried by very rude staff to " get your order in " from the moment you cross the threshold having been phoned to make sure we were still coming, because the kitchen is closing at 4pm ! We left. Then cancelled the 40th birthday party we had booked for October.

We arrived at 8:45 p.m. (Outside stand open until 10 p.m.) We would have liked to have eaten something because of our wedding anniversary. But we were told the kitchen was already closed. We decided to have a cocktail and a glass of wine with some chips. A quarter of an hour later a friendly waitress came and gave us two cards for dessert and cheese and said the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes so we could order something else. Ok, 2x cheeseboard...a short time later she said she had to cancel it again, it didn't work anymore. OK? However, the cheeseboards were on our bill. Everything is very chaotic. A couple at the next table had similar irritations. We can't rate the food because we didn't get anything. The drinks were delicious. The view of the Old Course is priceless. Unfortunately, the toilets are not that clean.

I recently visited this restaurant and was quite disappointed with the overall experience. Initially, they forgot one hot chocolate, and I had to remind them 2-3 times before it was finally brought to our table. The food quality was equally disappointing. The beef did not taste fresh and had an off-putting smell. When we asked the staff to check it, they refused to test it, stating that since we had already eaten some, they could not do anything about it. At the end of our meal, we requested to have the service charge removed due to our dissatisfaction. Ruby, one of the staff members, said it was not possible without even inquiring about our concerns. However, another staff member later agreed to remove it. Ruby left without offering an apology or explanation. Additionally, I noticed an error in our bill calculation after I returned home. Overall, the service and food quality were far from satisfactory, and the handling of our concerns was disappointing

The food was very nice, they were quite happy to sub an item on the burger for one of the extras large portions, dessert were lovely the sticky toffee pudding is very nice and the Highland Toffee ice cream( which I think would go well with the Sticky toffee pudding) steaks are lovely but it was just slightly over done but didn't ruin the meal and the chicken skewers looked amazing. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Nice views of the Golf course and West Sands Beach

We just showed up at around 1pm (on a Thursday during half term in april) and there was seating for all of us (quite a large party) without a 30 minute wait which is great! The food is good, but the fish is fishy and the meat and meaty, there is no chance of you misconstrueing them for anything than what is on the tin, but i really enjoyed the burger and my mum loved her fish cakes!!

Location: good. Staff: correct. Business plan: confusing/wrong. Saturday, 7pm, September. 1.5 tables in versus 4 staff members. The 0.5 leaves after finishing cocktails. It's called "brasserie", which together with "tartine" and "rillette" (no plural 's') lead to think there is some French vibe intended. 1) No brasserie options (that day, at least). 2) The tartine (tartinette?) was made with sourdough bread. 3) The salmon rillettes missing an 's' (as per French normal use) leads to the confusion of singular, ONE piece of salmon which... 4) was hot during the smoking process but not when served (another misleading menu description item); however, the word 'hot' appears in amongst the mess (see picture of menu). 5) The cold dish arrives to the table. I challenge the staff member and discuss the description on the menu. 6) The 4 staff members (by now, only our table was left in the _brasserie_) proceed to discuss loudly my questioning of the dish and its description by the kitchen, without me being invited to join the discussion. 7) That menu is printed with the date on it, therefore on a daily basis using high grammage, mid-gloss paper (£££). Bonus1: with all the slippery-slope in linguistics above-mentioned... What do you try to say with (i) goats cheese, (ii) goat's cheese or (iii) goats' cheese (please, refer to menu picture again). Bonus2: with the amount of costumers that day, the amount of staff whose wages need to be paid, and the cook leaving at 8pm (an hour early than closing time is announced), I wonder who are the targeted customers going to be there until 5pm on weekdays. Bonus3: we were the only table (2 people) and we ordered two simple dishes (burger and my cold controversy). It took 20-25min to arrive. It will take me visiting all other restaurants in Scotland before considering coming back to this one. I find in the vicinity an Inn's bar, a Michelin star, a burger place, and a pub-bar. Without a clearer business plan, I fail to understand what niche is this not-brasserie trying to cover. I see good intention and location opportunity, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place.

This restaurant is very under rated, my fiance and I both had three courses of delicious food, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed accompanied by outstanding views, him being a keen golfer was happy to watch over the old course. Our server Madison was so polite, professional and very prompt with our service. Also to top it off the chef was having a sing song, which made me smile - obviously very happy at his work. All staff were also impeccably dressed. I would 100% recommend a visit here.

There is no doubt this is a lovely location and great views. The service needs working on, we kept having to flag someone over, our desserts were brought over but the waiter ignored the dirty plates on the table? I asked him to take them away as we had finished. I ordered the burger and the roll had been defrosted out the freezer and was stale so it collapsed in my hand and disintegrated into a soggy mess. I reported this to a waiter and a waitress but all they said was that they would tell the chef. At £18.50 for a burger I would like better than that. The rest of the food was pretty good. Pricy for the standard that is being served up. A great place but needs work.

Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean
