Great food, lovely atmosphere. Would recommend the Steak and Ale pie and chips, served with a generous pot of gravy.

Great evening we only wanted a small snack We are a small family 2 adults and 2 children and the staff treated us with the great respect looking after us with food and drinks utterly brilliant thanks

it's always busy in here and it's no wonder why, great staff, great food and great drinks!

Really disappointed, we ordered 3 tapa’s dishes, the teriyaki chicken wings were overcooked and really dry & hard. The curried bratwurst came without the fries which we mentioned & then then 30 minutes later brought us overcooked chips which tasted off old oil and without any salt or vinegar which we had to ask for and then only received vinegar. Despite there being 5 staff members all chatting at the bar, none of them asked us if everything was was ok with our food, which normally I see as an intrusion, but I wanted to be asked to tell them how bad it was.

Saturday 4th June 2024 This pub is a micro pub, which sells 3 really well-kept, handpumped real ales on Today, I put a picture on my site The 3 staff on today were polite and good at their jobs The 1 roomed pub was comfortable, as was the background music. This is a really good friendly real ale pub in the Davenport area of Stockport

Seems to be a nice little hidden gem — perhaps if they had more signage out you’d be better able to tell that it’s a pub — but either way the staff are often hospitable

Hav a lovely afternoon at The Milliner, nice lager and lamb shank, personally love a more rich and textural gravy would make it perfect. Recommended.

Small but busy. Table service all the time which is friendly and quick. Only issue would be the size of a large wine as would think it was only around 175ml and more expensive than other places for 250ml

Lovley little place, felt very welcoming when me and my wife first entered. Ordered a drink at the bar and the girl came over with our drinks to our table.. Quirky, clean and friendly

Have been four times in the last five weeks. The drinks are great, staff really friendly and helpful, and the FOOD! The food is incredible! Great menu, and even better prices. The beef and ale pie with mash and peas is to die for. Thanks!

The food was lovely and really reasonably priced, great service too.

Called in for lunch, was quite disappointed. Girl behind the bar kept disappearing, so there was no one to serve as people came in. There were bottles of cleaning products on the bar, stacks of stools in several corners. Looked rather messy. Ordered a cup of tea, partner had a pint of beer. Tea came but cup was dirty, was then given a glass coffee latte cup. Food was OK, nice cod and chips. Had been recommended this place so was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. If you're not interested in opening during the day, then just open in the evening rather than do it badly.

Always good service and food. Love this place.

Ordered the veggie burger with chips and a side of the vegan meatballs. The food took a while to come out however the staff were very friendly. Food was good, classic pub food.

We went in with family and friends between Christmas and New year's for a few drinks. Friendly staff and it is a nice little artisan pub with a nice small selection of craft beers 🍻

The table service is not great at all. When I arrived I stood at the bar waiting for my friends to arrive and got told I had to go and sit down…wasn’t a good start. When my friends arrived, we tried to find a table and ended going upstairs. The problem was that table service practically doesn’t exist here. We waited for half an hour for the supposed table service before we then left. Not great. We visited on a Friday night

Food excellent, varied and different menu. And, very reasonable. Only problem was the over- microwaved Roly poly pudding. Scored low on atmosphere because of a noisy table who weren't eating, just drinking, despite space downstairs. Suggest dining room be reserved for diners. That said, can't wait to go again.

Great addition to Davenport, looking forward to the kitchen opening soon. Service is second to none!

Popped in today, had steak and cheese and onion pies with mash and peas. The gravy was excellent. The staff were great, we both enjoyed it sat in the sun.

Really enjoy going here drinks are great, the food is delicious and sitting outside watching the world go by on a summers day or evening having a nice bite to eat with a beer or a glass of wine or a G&T can't beat it would recommend this place again and again Friendly owner and great staff

Went for a bit of a do lovely room upstairs and staff service was great at the bar but also when upstairs they came and served you personally. Easy with contact less payments too.

Popped over to see relatives in Stockport and had a late lunch there Roast was ordered and delivered Great sized portions and ultra delicious Could not fault was great all round and not too pricey either

Went in first week of opening late afternoon. Really enjoyed it at first, as others have said, lovely staff great beer and a real nice place. On that id five it 5 stars but, and a big but it started really filling up ( normally great) and we ended up with people sat on bar stools right above us...no social distancing at all and felt very uncomfortable...we left without finishing our drinks. I'm local so walk past a lot and it's still the same. I desperately want this place to succeed it's really nice and needed but I don't dare go in. Sept 2022. Post covid all my above gripes no longer relevant. It really is a top bar with a nice little restaurant upstairs which serves great food. A first class establishment.

Lovely fresh cider on tap. Salt and chilli (I think) chips are lush. Nice staff, busy, good vibe, near an escape room as well so could be pre-brief and debrief of that's you kinda thing.

Called in for a quick drink , nice vibe about the place , great service and rhe food looked great . Sadly didn't get to try the food as we had already booked a table elsewhere for that evening. Will be trying it out soon tho 👍

A fantastic pub, the staff are always welcoming and friendly, great pint of Guinness and Camden Hells that doesn’t cost the earth either! The place is always busy and there’s always a great atmosphere

Very popular place to go atm. Good craft beers and reasonably priced. Serving food which is freshly made and tasty. Gets busy at the weekends. Nice place to meet up have a chat with friends. There is no music so for those who want to get up and boogie from the word "go" strap your legs together till you get to the clubs!

A lovely little pub with a good selection of ales and lagers. Food is of good standard at a reasonable price. Currently got a new chef visiting for a few days with an excellent 4 course menu. If you're in the area and haven't tried it out go and visit Eddie and the team for a great time.

My friend and I have been drinking here for a while and he strongly recommended coming for a meal. So one day my wife and I wandered in and ordered the cumberland sausage sandwich. Oh my! That's all I'm going to tell you, just go and try it for yourself because you won't be disappointed.

The Milliner is the first bar on the Davenport strip, and it's arrival marks a significant milestone in establishing a true nighttime economy to the area. Rediscovered and restored shop windows are well matched by an interior of green and white ceramic tiles, copper trims and copper table tops. In the ground floor bar there is a range of seating from high stools, bank seating, and upholstered chairs. There's a wide range of gins and other spirits, whilst 3 cask taps had Bollington beers when I visited, and are supplemented by a range of other craft beer options. The restaurant is on the first floor. Like many small bars these days, there's one toilet for all. Runners meet on a Monday, and there is a quiz on a Tuesday. A superbly designed, well managed, and friendly bar capable of pleasing most tastes.

Excellent draft craft beers served by young but knowledgeable staff . Service with a smile and I can recommend that you try the Shaw Heath Steak sandwich.

I absolutely love this little local bar.it has a decent drink selection, friendly staff and nice ambience. We tried food there for the first time recently. We did enjoy it but just a couple of little tweeks would have made it even better. The burger is delicious but would be made better with a fresh bread roll instead of a packet one. The gravy was divine and I know my gravy :) The chips were nice too but a few more would have been nice as I was stilll a little hungry afterwards. That being said I do have a big appetite. My wife ordered the kedgeree and found it to be a little spicy. Again, personal preference but it was definitely on the hot side. Looking forward to returning.

We decided to pop over to The Milliner for some dinner a few nights ago. We really can’t fault the place; the staff were brilliant, the restaurant upstairs is really homely and the pies tasted delicious! It’s such a great asset to have in Davenport.

I pop in here sometimes on my way to an appointment round the corner, the first thing you notice as you walk through the door is the fact this is a quirky little bar, it has a personality all of its own. The staff are very friendly and helpful, there are plenty of ales and lagers on, including craft ales which I love! On my last visit I ordered a steak and ale pie, wow, superb pie! Great place, great atmosphere, great food, great beer!

Love this welcoming and beautifully decorated bar. Always a pleasure to visit, and very vegan-friendly. Along with cocktails, vegan friendly beer and a full vegan wine list, the Milliner have now opened their kitchen. On the menu you can get your hands on a range of vegan and also gluten free meals. We really loved the vegan burger and vegan sharing board. Even the condiments on the table are all vegan friendly! A lot of thought and love has gone in to their kitchen. The team that run the Davenport are fab, too.

Discusted! Walked in to join my husband and friend (who had walked in not wearing a mask and not challenged) to a man in the middle of the pub asking where my mask is. Did not introduce himself. I explained that I was medically exempt and he asked me why?! And to prove it!!!! The whole place was listening as he had stopped me in the middle of the place!!!!!!! So I am not sure why I was challenged and others were not, nor why I was asked to divulge my medical exception reasons to the whole pub and told it was the law?!
