The Mill Cafe in Clackmannanshire

Visited today wanted Macaroni cheese,they had none left. Menu limited so left dissatisfied

I recently visited The Mill Café and was a bit disappointed with my experience. While the café itself had a nice atmosphere, the service was quite slow, even though it wasn’t very busy. I ordered a sandwich, and it was bland and lacked any real flavour. The portion size also felt small for the price. On top of that, the coffee was lukewarm by the time it reached my table. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t meet my expectations, and I’m not sure I’d return.

Awful ! Had soup and a cheese scone, was like eating a cake with your soup. The soup was supposed to be tomato, that’s debatable, and the service was slow despite the pace being half empty. Never again !

Just been in and had a cream tea. Cutting into the scone it had a long hair in it!!! Contacted a member of staff and got a replacement but no cream?? They have none apparently. Won't be back any time soon and I've been coming here every fortnight with my grandson. Very disappointed

Mill Cafe in Tillicoutry near Stirling is a light bright cafe with plenty of space and seating Coffee, light snacks reasonable price Service is normally fine Recommended.

Desperate for a cuppa, we succumbed to a cuppa and a scone at the Mill Cafe. A Wednesday afternoon, it wasn't very busy, we were served quickly and had a good choice of seating. Staff were busy cleaning when not serving, but they didn't look too happy to be there. Hot drinks and scones were fine, though the scones were a bit tasteless.

Love to pop in here for lunch, always lovely food and pleasant staff.

The staff in the cafe were lovely people. So welcoming and kind to our dog well above the call of duty. A brilliant experience!!

Service was slow and disorganised. Food mediocre quality. We ordered a soup and sandwich combo, which we received but were charged for the items individually which was more expensive. An overall disappointing experience.

Food is OK. but dear for what it is. Cafe is busy around lunch time as it is used by Sterling staff.

The food was amazing! Best Mac and cheese in the area! Barely any wait too :) highly recommend!

Ridiculous pricing! £2.35 for a standard can of Coke? £4.75 for a bowl of soup with a small oval roll with butter. £2.65 for what was stale Malteser Cake. Not good value when you consider their overheads are already covered by the Furniture Store.

An overpriced poor staff attitude cafe.

Enjoyed a lovely sweet&sour chicken very tasty but quite expensive for what you got.

Immaculately clean, great coffee and great value. Lovely seats.

Sterling Mills is the place to be.This cafe has so much choice, staff very friendly, scenery is perfect.

Pretty good cafe. Well laid out tables and decent choice of food. Very close to a range of shops in a local centre.

Decent cafe within a large furniture/retail store. Food is usually of a good standard. Self service at counter can be a bit slow at busy times but staff are generally pleasant and helpful.

Went to the cafe just before 3 pm, and there was not a great selection for cake and coffee, I appreciate it was later in the day, but it could have been better

Great for snacks while shopping

A quick lunch before attacking the bed linens and curtains. A nice comprehensive menu covering sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes, mac and cheese etc., a choice of two hearty looking soups, a wide selection of cakes and pastries. The general area is clean and uncluttered, the staff are helpful and smiling. All the teas and coffees you could ask for, promptly served and tables quickly bussed. So good to have the effort made when the target audience is probably after a recliner chair. We'll be back.

A large spacious cafe with lots of seating. Very clean and tidy.

Popped in once for a coffee and a bacon roll... Coffee was nice, roll was fresh and tasty, good amount of bacon. Will be back.

This is inside a large 3 floor furniture warehouse, but is on the ground floor at the back of the warehouse. It has an entrance next to it, as well as being able to get to it from the shop. It is well laid out, with plenty of room between tables, they have also a family section, so if you have kids & need your food heated, there is a microwave for you to use here. As to the food and service, we just stopped in for a coffee, but from what I saw, everything looked lovely and fresh. The service was good and the tables and area were kept clean for the next patrons using it. Great place to drop in to get yourself self out, with plenty of parking next to it. The place was busy, so that in itself self tells you a story. I will be back....

Staff need to have a better manner. You should be made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble and not feel like you are an inconvenience

Light lunches or brunch both are good, pleasant staff, plenty to browse in the shops after.

The plates were cool, so the food didn't stay hot for long, fish had plenty dressing but not enough fish

First time here after renovations ok

Not really up to the standard of other cafes nowadays. All food is wrapped in plastic and they don't even have barrista style coffee machines. Staff seem a bit disengaged.

We had a lovely breakfast here. All the breakfasts are cooked to order so you may have to wait 5 to 10 mins which suits me as it allows you time to find a table have a sip of your coffee/tea then along comes your nice hot breakfast. Will keep coming back.

It is a lovely area for sitting in with a mix of coffee tables and sofa with a log Effect fire in the corner. We had a sandwich, cake and tea/ coffee. For a bag with two very small tuna and red onion sandwiches it cost £4.50. Large chunks of red onion were laid on top of the tuna instead of being finely cut and mixed with the tuna. My wife had the chicken and bacon sandwich which she found bland and tasteless. In total we paid over £25.00 for three sandwiches, two cakes, two teas and a coffee. I've had much better quality and value elsewhere. Think I'll stick to coffee and cake next time and leave the food, it's not worth the price.

The cafe is clean the staff friendly and the cake is delicious 😋 The cafe is breastfeeding friendly and boasts a second hand book selection where you can "help yourself". The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. This is one of my favourite local haunts on a chilly day when I just want a nice coffee and some to myself.

The kitchen had unfortunately closed when we visited so it was just tea and cake. The menu looked delicious though. I loved the atmosphere and they mismatched furniture. Great second hand book area. The actual shop is fantastic, so large we actually got lost.

Great staff and good standard food. Mainstream, chicken nuggets, fish and chips etc but also a large vegetarian menu.

Quick service, café was clean and tidy. Chose a quiet time to go so we were not rushed. Lovely fresh soup.

Lovely 'ladies' lunch. Ate outside and felt safely socially distanced. Toastie, cake and drink for £10 - maybe a little expensive, but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, so not complaining :).

Only reason for the 1 star is the staff. Lovley people. The food....... iI could havr had better from a bin. Burger overcooked and not a stroganoff burger. Baked potato looked microwaved and dry. Seriously hire a qualified chef!

nice food in pleasant surroundings

Great coffee, lovely staff, and usually very nice food. But what has happened to the veg recently? My delicious steak and onion pie was served with canned (or possibly frozen) ‘bendy’ carrots. Not enjoyable, which is a real shame.
