Really friendly and efficient service, highly recommend, lovely food and looks very very clean

Live locally Use regularly - both takeaways and deliveries Deliveries always here very quickly - never had to wait more then 45 mins from time of order and often in 30 minutes or less! Never had an issue and can't understand a lot of the negative reviews Ordering is great and so easy through their website and delivery charge reasonable - I always tip a little as well.

Customer service is good, order online and pick up is bang on time. Only criticism I have is the portion size. Especially the chips, if you order a large, don't expect to get much more than a small. And I don't even think they do a small. And at £4.50 it's very disappointing when you get home and you open the bag. Will probably be trying other takeaways on the highstreet after this visit.

Great fish and chip shop in Towcester. The chips are definitely the best in Towcester!! Only criticism would be too much salt. I will not ask for salt and vinegar next time. Will have to try out the chicken shish kebab at some point.

Food poisoning, rude unhelpful unhygienic staff, food contamination witnessed staff using same gloves for picking up meat for kebab then salad, data protection breeches from staff obtaining customer phone numbers illegally through company laptop to deal with personal issues used to love this place not sure what happened

Popped into this chip shop on recommendation from a local person. Ordered 2 large chips....1 Cod and also ordered a battered sausage, a regular sausage and a curry sauce. Service was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was good 4🌟 The whole family enjoyed this meal and the large chips was the perfect size....portion for 2 people to share. I shared a cod with one of the family a it was perfectly cooked ...not greasy at all...just right. Would recommend for fish and chips ....but there did seem to be plenty of other food on the menu. We thoughtbthe orifecwas reasonable compared to back home where we live. Cannot believe the other reviews ...we must timed it 👌 just right! Nothing was cold or under or over cooked...

This chippy is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is fresh, but they need to change the oil more often. The chips in general are always over cooked and too crispy, add old oil to the mix and they are hardly edible. Shame because they could be so much better and I would buy more often if the chips were consistent. *Edit* I have downgraded my review from 2 to 1 star because they obviously don't listen to customers reviews. They have not addressed the quality of their chips. Bought some chips the other day dark dirty oil still being used. Had to throw them away.

Just had scrummilicious haddock chips delivered. The portions were huge! Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. 5⭐

Very disappointing! the portion of chips priced @ £3.50 I received was extremely small for the high price paid. However what I did have was good. It may be prudent to to look at legal weight of your chip portions. Not Value for money.

The food is good though a bit pricey. The environment is quite neat. I think I will try others options in the future.

Really bad costumer service. I order here and my order was supposed to be delivered at 6.45pm and I waited until 7pm as it’s Friday and it’s probably busy but then I try to call and 4 times they end the call without even speaking to m and didn’t had my food delivered.

Did an online order yesterday evening 24th May. When the order arrived the driver was polite and handed me the bag, when I unpacked the pie and chips was all stone cold. I tried to contact them by phone to complain but you cannot get through to them as the phone cuts off straight away. I will not order from them ever again and definitely would urge others not to use them.

Really nice food here. However the amount they now charge is crazy! £4 for small chip? £4 for Sausage? Absolutely mental.

The quality and quantity has completely gone downhill whilst the prices have gone up. Portion sizes are around half of what they use to be. Chips are now terrible, almost like they have reheated a batch, and mixed in with a fresh batch to bulk them out. Donner meat use to be the best in town, but now it’s mushy and full of gristle. Chicken kebab portion has now become so small you get more salad than meat with a horrendous price tag. Sorry but they have seen the last of my custom.

A friend brought tea tonight fish and chips from Merlin's in Towcester, and it was terrible, yesterdays chips reheated, I dare not eat the fish it was very dry and did not look at all appetizing so after a taste gave it a miss. Will not be using again.

Great fish each time and lovely staff

Tried to order a delivery online and when went to place order, delivery no longer available. Ordered for collection instead and when got home large portion was missing. Called and was told that online payment on different machine and if I wanted a refund I had to go back. Sadly the once great service seems to be disappearing so will consider alternatives in future.

Very good service and friendly staff. Asked to swap out an item on a set deal and they happily did this free of charge. And there was a lot of food. Very tasty

The opening times are not correct. Drove some distance for Fish and Chips to met with a locked door at 9.40 and staff inside working, lights on but not serving. If you're saying you're open till 10pm then be open till 10pm. Will never go back. Will not recommend. Unreliable and rude.

Disgusted to have made an effort to drive to get fish and chips tonight, noting the closing time was 10pm to arrive 20 minutes before their (9.40pm) with the door locked and all staff inside looking at you refusing to serve you. False advertising to close early and then just plain rude to ignore you. Clearly local businesses don’t need support or customers! Would not recommend.

Don't rely on them being open. I turned up 20 mins before closing time and they were in there, lights on, but the door was locked and clearly they were not open! Rude, unreliable and a waste of time going there. Staff just looked at you. Never again. Avoid.

Asked for Garlic mayo on kebab but got something else...

Diabolical food. Chips cold and flavourless? Cod cold and caked in soft thick batter, battered sausage wasn’t fit for the dog. Avoid this place

Visit regularly. A couple of times each month or so. Never had an issue whether I've ordered fish and chips or kebabs! Staff are friendly and service good.

It's the first time we used Marlin Fish Bar. We had kebab meat and chips, and it tasted awesome. We will be back 😉👍

The perfect pie, chips and curry sauce - with somewhere to sit so I didn't have to eat in my vehicle. Tick! Tick! Tick!

Lucky they are getting 1 star…we waited an about and 45 minutes for a delivery. When we got it, half of it was cold, half of it was over cooked. Pie with no sauce inside due to being over cooked. I tried calling 20 times before I finally got hold of them. They hung up on me 3 times, shouted down the phone at me and the delivery driver just put his hand up in my face! Not impressed at all.

Home delivered FREEZING COLD FISH AND CHIPS.... even the curry sauce wasn't warm.... Used them quite a bit but this is the worst...

Excellent fish and chips take away. High quality and well cooked food that tastes great. We'd go there more if parking wasn't such an issue.

Asked specifically about delivery and gave address, was told this was absolutely fine and given menus to take home. When it came to ordering a few days later, they refused to deliver as we are 1/2 a mile too far away. Absolutely joke

Excellent service food is mediocre

Really excellent fish, chips and mushy peas. The fish was particularly good...not too much batter and wonderful thick juicy fish. We called after a busy day at Silverstone circuit and it was very easy to find with the satnav. Parking on the road just outside the shop.

Good portion sizes. Food always cooked well and tasty. If ever any issues, they go out of their way to resolve them. They also deliver....bonus!

Moved to Towcester recently and on that first evening, all my belongings in a van in the driveway, Marlin's FIsh Bar were there for us. Food was hot, quick and inexpensive. The chicken kebab was also surprisingly juicy and yummy. Will order from them again!

Both my son and I went to the Merlin fish and chip shop, and we were so disappointed with everything. Terrible and slow service the fish was dry, it's not worth the money you could a bit better than what you are doing.

First time ordering here on a quiet lunchtime. Seen the mixed reviews but thought I’d give it a go. Rudest staff ever! Never returning.

Order fish and chips along with burger, only got chips and burger though they gave me the fish after I rang them but have to come back from home again, the sad part is no one was sorry for the mistake or hassle caused. Food was ok

Very lovely experience after a long days work. Although our friend threw an inexcusable tantrum over gravy we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the lady taking out order handled it with discretion and integrity. She's a credit to your establishment, please thank her for us.

RUDE! And only deliver till 9pm when food was ordered at 7:45pm, got a email to say it would be delivered at 8:33pm..no sign of food around then! Person I spoke to over the phone was completely rude!

Always get the food delivered by a really friendly driver. Food is of great quality, hot, and good portion sizes. Best chippy in Towcester!

Always good service. This is my preferred choice for fish and chips. Fish batter stays lovely even after a 15mins walk home. Chips are also lovely.

2 shish and a large chips for over £22 was crazy. Good food and good portion size but it was a long wait and overpriced. Another customer came on and was also shocked to hear they didn't do a meat and chips combo like most kebab houses do.

Great food bit a bit shocked at the price increases. I understand inflation etc but £4 for a beef and onion pie made my eyes water.

Decent selection of food and drink on offer, with fantastic portion sizes. The fact they deliver is a bonus. No complaints here!

Searching for fish & chips, so first time in town. Freshly cooked fish was absolutely excellent. Plentiful portions & good value.

Not hugely impressed this time round. Maybe the chef was having a off day. Had Fish & Chips and was really looking forward to it. The fish was over cooked, dark brown and dry. The batter was not seasoned and the chips were soggy.

While staying with Mimi and Papa we popped in for a cheeky takeaway. I had my three year old with me who was instantly greeted with a warm welcome with huge smiles. They gave her a little colouring book with a pack of crayons. It was not busy for the time we went there (16:45 Monday) They have a great menu including the kids menu! The food was cooked to perfection! I ordered a sheesh kebab with all the salad and pitta, this was the first place I've been too which separates the salad into a side dish so it isn't all put together and what a fantastic idea! I felt I got more salad out of it and the little dish was perfect for the leftovers! 5* 100% deserved! Well done guys, keep up the hard work!

The Marlin Fish Bar never fail to please, over lockdown my family have ordered food to be delivered many times, always hot and on time, well done to your hard working team.

I wasn’t going to post a bad review but after receiving backlash from a local Facebook group then I am going to. I ordered a delivery online. Once I had paid for it I realised that I had been overcharged so I called and was told it was a delivery charge, I said that the receipt shows £0.00 on the delivery charge and that you just add extra money on a order without the customer knowing, so I asked for a refund which he then shouted “ if you want it you’ll have to come and get it” and hung up. Now I don’t mind paying delivery charge as but I do mind being charged sneakily and then being spoke to in an extremely rude manner when I was quite polite to him. Shame as I had food from there before and it was quite nice but won’t be going again after this and especially after receiving the backlash from locals !!!

Me and my wife ordered here last night my wife's food arrived but mine was missing so phoned up to complain we was told sorry and that they would deliver it within in ten minutes 20 minutes later still nothing so called again to be told that there driver has finished for the night so I would have to wait till tomorrow for my food to be delivered not happy atool.

We order from here for delivery regularly. They are usually OK, Though the fish tends to oily and not well drained and the pies are soggy and I have to put them on the oven when they arrive to make them edible. Today we made an order for delivery and a portion of chips was missing. I phoned the fish bar and explained the situation, the guy on the phone said they wouldn't be able to send the chips as there was no delivery driver there at that moment, I asked if they could send it out when he got back and he put the phone down on me. Thinking it could be a mistake, I phoned back and they let the phone ring until it went to answerphone and did not respond to my phone message. My message to potential customers is buyer beware. The chips are nice but if there is something wrong with your order they may not care.

I Have been going here since it opened but not anymore, The ordering system works well but you fail every time to read the CUSTOMERS COMMENTS which are important and could have allergy info. What is going on with the kebabs, chips and the like. THE FOOD IS DISGUSTING & I WILL NOT BE GOING ANYMORE.

The marlin has always been a big hit for us, but tonight’s order really was a let down, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the food but the portion size with this order was terrible, with the price of the mixed Kebab going up and now being near on £10, 4/5 bits of chicken and a mediocre portion of doner meat I did not feel that this was worth the price we paid. Previous orders have been twice the size, also the new tray it’s served in appears to give a false sense of size, initially appearing quite big but actually much thinner in height. If this is how things are going to be the sadly my custom with go elsewhere.

Tried a lunchtime take out for a couple of us, have to say really pleased with the menu and the food. Went down a treat, been a couple more times to pick up lunches.

All our deliveries from The Marlin are quick and food is always hot and tasty. Tonight they missed the cod from our order which we phoned and advised, 20 minutes later cod turns up piping hot and fresh chips with an apology note. Just shows the team are decent people and the food quality is great.

We've been coming here since they opened. Can't fault the fish and chips. Always phone first so don't have to wait. Always a friendly service.

Great kebab needed at 11oclock at night

Been buying a variety of food from Marlins over some months so felt a review was required. Whether it has been fish and chips, kebabs, etc, all has been cooked to a great standard and all is tasty and good quality. Used the delivery online service twice now and superb! Easy to use and delivery has always been within 15 mins of ordering. Food all hit and fresh and a friendly delivery driver. Would highly recommend Marlins.
