Sunday 18th Aug '2024: It's been years since I have been in this weatherspoons. I had my usual, fish and chips with curry sauce, but this time I had it with beans instead of peas. Peas is definitely better! Either way it was lovely and recommend this place.

This is a wetherspoon pub which is always good value for money , we had a nice meal for 2 including drinks which was under £20

Came here and the staff are very inexperienced and unfamiliar with their own menu. Our server was rude and there was something in our drinks & the vibes inside the pub was okay the staff just need more training in customer service and more knowledge on menu.

I've been going to wetherspoons for quite a while as always the staff there are very polite and attentive food good for what you pay for,very clean and member of staff allways cleaning tables clearing plates and glasses shame it's going to close down in August this year I for one will miss it 😭

We came here with my wife to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We have order 2 ribeye steak, one of order is medium the other one is well done. They bring both well done and dry which is so hard to eat. I told them and they said ribeye is out of stock and they offer rump steak. I had to choose that one and they bring rump steak which is hard and smell too bad. Maybe They put in microwave . I am the weather spoon customer for years , I haven’t taste worse than this rump steak. We couldn’t eat . Then I told the guy who is in the charge, he said only said sorry. And we couldn’t eat the meats even we couldn’t drink and left. It was totally a nightmare…!! If you see this review, go save yourself.

It's your average whetherspoons, it can get very busy here, but I've been a few times, no complaints

Stopped by here whilst waiting for an MOT at Halfords up the road. Very welcoming, lovely outside patio, I got a table very quickly, too - plenty available and spacious. Service via app was easy, and served in an excellent manner very professionally. Food was tasty, just right for lunch, and the atmosphere was excellent - lots of areas for all occasions. Would definitely visit again.

EVERY DAMN TIME I come here your staff lack focus, ignore me and serve someone who came after me. The dunce was pulling pints with her phone in hand just now HOW UNHYGIENIC. It looked in my face and served someone who came after me. Lazy unfocused and rude and is evident in her appearance. I won't post her picture just urge you to ORGANISE YOUR BLOODY QUEUES.

Avoid working here by any means necessary! First of all, they get your name wrong on the CONTRACT of EMPLOYMENT, and then they give you the run around, as you are misinformed of what days you should come in for your supposed induction.... If you survive that stage, then be prepared for a lengthy test on different modules, on a lap top, in a very noisy pub, with a few aggressively drunk customers! ( whatever happened to sitting in a quiet room for an interview, and to watch videos that requires listening to the audio, for which you'll be tested on later??!)... And if you survive that stage, and are still interested in a job there, then be prepared to meet some of the most disorganized and abrupt people that you would ever come across in your life!....Asking you, "what are you doing here?" ....meanwhile, another so called manager had already told you to come in, that same day....Talk about lack of communication and a place full of misinformed staff! And most of their modules talk about "discrimination and being polite and courteous" to customers... How so funny and ironic! ....Total opposite is practised. And oh, if you are still around after all this, then don't be surprised when they ask you to bring in your documents again, because the printer/photocopying machine/ scanner broke down earlier, OR, the wrong template was used in scanning or photocopying your documents the first time around! Good Luck!!

A very loud group of people at the back of the pub disturbing other people and the toilets were disgusting with the smell of urine and flies everywhere. Very disgusting and wont be visiting again

A nice pub, good service , plenty of seating. Didn't have food.

Not my normal pub outing , service was very poor only one member of staff behind the bar so the wait was very long, this was not helped by the fight which broke out not far from our table, was over very quickly but the copious amount of blood on the floor was only given a quick wipe qith blue paper towels. I have been in other witherspoon pubs where the service was much better, I will give this one a miss in the future

Good pub, good prices and nice atmosphere.

Clean and cosy nice mix of people across all age ranges appears to be child friendly. The staff are regularly clean the tables if asked they are will to ensure the table is cleared and cleaned. Staff are kept busy therefore limited engagement Ample food served promptly.

Run of the mill Wetherspoon pub in Catford…

This is my local its always a pleasure to have breakfast or lunch. Today I met a friend for lunch. The food is good quality and can come with an alcoholic or soft drink. There a unlimited hot drink dispenser for different types of cofee, tea and chocolate. You find that you do not have to wait too long or your meal to be served. Staff are always busy cleaning and collecting empty glasses and bottles. What I like most is that you can socialise or have a meeting there. There's alot of tables not too close to each other so you can talk friendly without feeling your making too much noise. There is no backgroubd music playing. There is a TV with captions so you can read what been said. It's wheelhair friendly and there is outdoor seating.

Decent enough for a cheap pub lunch. Quiet, quick service, mixed grill cooked really well. I'll be back.

Ordered 3 meals. 2 came together then had to wait ages for the 3rd. We ordered drinks with the food, which we received after the meal, around 40 minutes later. The beans were cold, my bacon was burnt and looked like it had been dropped into bottom of the grill. Eggs were over cooked and hard

Warm welcome! Always a smile a please and thankyou. Warm as toast in the winter with amazing sumptuous toilets that must have been renovated recently, feels like a spa! Cuisine second to none, recommend the buttery fresh made mash potato that is creamy and smooth! Has hints of rosemary and horseradish. Interesting well read customers always open to a conversation on Keynesian economics or debates on philosophy and history

It's a wetherspoons cheap drinks and a good atmosphere

It was nice meeting up with friends we knew from the Bankers Draft. Missed Cathie but pleased to see Kirstie.

Food is terrible and cold. Alcohol take like water.

A wonderful, wonderful place friendly staff,a great service and the most important thing is pay a coffee and drink 5 , I mean four coffees free crazy is net,in this times. Very recommend.

Food good if you want something really fast. The service is great. The atmosphere is Good. Parking is Good in Lidl. Very kid friendly and easy wheelchair access.

Went for dinner here with my kids. Staff were very accommodating and food was tasty. Would recommend to families.

I'm not against people coming inside to beg for something, but I think it's getting out of hand now, which should be minimised. And l think the tables should be cleaned when a customer leaves it. Aside these, I think everything is fine.

Food was OK. Missing items and staff were a bit lacklustre

The place was ok not too rowdy. The staff were polite. However, the tables were sticky. The service took a long time and when the food came my chips were cold and the fish was over done. I'm hoping I didn't get someone's left over chips. We ordered at the table but at one point had to go to the bar to fetch our drinks. We were glad we visited but won't be returning.

It is always a blessing to pop in to my local wetherspoon. The lady working (only her with the chef today) was keeping herself busy on this long bank holidays weekend and always smiley, despite being alone on the floor and behind the bar. 5 stars! My muffin came cold unfortunately but she had my breakfast remade promptly. good job! From Cris.

tables dirty, if you can see that tables are dirty, imagine the kitchen, i don't recommend this place, disgusting. stake very poor , just steak and nothing else, expensive for the offer wont go again

A simple Spoons in Catford town centre. Had the usual selection of well priced and well kept ales on offer. The pub was relatively well kept, clean and tidy. Solid if not spectacular.

This is an above average JD Wetherspoon. Service is usually pretty good. I think this was the first time that I liked the steak on a Wetherspoon.

Cheap weak beer for the masses! Sorted. The clientele today were particularly grim. 60 something retired cabbies up in arms about people standing in front of the horse racing on the telly. See you next week. I personally prefer the Lewisham branch a bit further up the road The Watch House.

Service was abut slow and the cocktails were abit weak. Was told the margaritas don't come with salt cos its witherspoon

Very reasonably priced food. Which was delicious. Typical pub atmosphere.

The usual mix of clientele. Does what it say's on the tin. Great staff and fish & chips!

We went for a late breakfast, service was pretty good, I would recommend the wraps as food stays hotter, food is served on cold plates, very spacesious loads of seats, unlimited hot drinks.

The pub has quite an interesting front with seating enclosed clear plastic hoarding, which I suppose would be great to keep our of a cold breeze. The staff were friendly and the pub was clean and tidy even though it was quite busy. The usual seating options available but mainly low tables. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar.

I like this place for its price, menu availability and the environment/ambiance. However, what I really don't like is the availability of fresh food. Almost 90% of what you order is pre-packed or processed food and some of their sauces have MSG in them. I know this is not a health restaurant but pre-cooked processed food (mash, sausages, peas, etc.) are harmful to health. The taste of the food is wonderful and the staff is very friendly.

The fish n' chips were oily and hardly any fish. More soggy batter.

Did not enjoy my breakfast Burnt Toast asked for soft eggs got one broken hard cooked could not dip my Burned toast in my Hard eggs

I asked for take out I was told they didn't order no take away boxes that's couple times and it's cold in it and short staff but the man manger has a chip on his shoulder there's a girl juiley lovely girl

Rude Manadger,rude staff. They should have some training course about customer service. Public place doesn't mean people can do what they want,with disregard and disrespectful attitude toward other costumer. The manager and staff should understand that.

Helpful & friendly staff, Good choice of food & beers, still good value for your money. It can get busy at the bar so best to order food & drinks at the same time & more than one beer so you will not need to go to the bar so much.

Hilarious. The staff are wearing what looks like security cameras. I was sat near a couple that were having a loud and drunken argument. An old man was just staring at me from his pint of I assume some guest ale, then averted his gaze when I stared back. Staff member who took my order was the newest, poor thing looked suitably overwhelmed. 10/10 would visit again..

Did a great managers deal with the empire burger but went in for scrambled eggs beans and toast was charged extra for the beans without a coffee refill it would of been cheaper going to one of the cafes over the road on Rushey Green

Relaxing atmosphere price good for large groups of people

Undistinguished Wetherspoons with a poor range of cask ale compared to the nearby Capitol (Forest Hill) and Moon and Stars (Penge). Seems to be doing well though and was busy mid-afternoon when I went. I suspect that says more about the dearth of decent pubs in Catford though.

What an awful experience food was terrible customer service even worse. Knock off goods being offered for sale. By far the worst weatherspoons I have been to and I have done well over 10.
