The Keg in Renfrewshire

Ate there on a Sunday evening. Good food, great brews, two nice women running the place, quiet on Sunday but seems to have a lot scheduled for weekly evenings. “Cheers” atmosphere.

Mars at the bar is just the best, so lovely, great atmosphere and plenty on during the week, I’ll Defos be back!

Love it, staff are fab, food is top drawer and they’ve got cracking live entertainment throughout the week. Best venue in Paisley.

I was absolutely discussed to a couple that were joing my company got treated bye a member off serving staff. I personally have work on the trade for 20 years and if my staff treated and spoke to any customers like the wY she did. I would seriously think of sacking her. She accused them off being having to much before coming yo meet us. The girl thought she had all the power possible to judge. She was so wrong lost good trade by her power trip. And pubs in Paisley are closing looks like the Keg will be soon.

Used to love coming here. Unfortunately staff kill they buzz. Particularly Jordan, short girls with glasses. On a very quiet night maybe one or two customers in the restaurant. If you ask for a drink this member of staff will glare At you when like you took dog dump on her door. She will then process to with hold the drink and shove the card machine in my face as if I'm going to run away with the glasses. I know this might not be the case but as a black person. This flags up as profiling. I never see them doing this Caucasian members of the public and certainly never treated like that in every other bar in Glasgow and paisley, trust me I go to alot of bars. One I have payed for my drink then and drink it in peace. This member of staff will continue to glare at me basically tell me to leave. Heather is the owner is lovely however is great and tries there best to be understanding and tries to make all members of the public no matter, what skin, faith or background. It's a shame I have to give a 1 start but I do not wish to be made out to be a criminal while i order a beer and to glared at by staff while drinking said beer

Popped in without a reservation on quiz night and got seated at the bar. Great drinks, great food and really great staff!

Had a look on here and cannot believe I left it so long between visits. Anyways...another visit, another 5 stars. Staff were welcoming and efficient, food was great, will visit again soon.

Nice place. Miss when it was called burger and keg

A great bar. Was treated to free live music. Service was exceptional with the bartender not afraid to interact and have a laugh with customers. Drinks were on the cheap side, can get a very large Venom cocktail bucket for just £10. Food was very good, well above the average 'pub food' standard, can recommend the chicken burger. Only complaint would be was a bit on the quieter side for a Friday night, however, this could have just been a one off.

Love coming here when in Paisely.

Popped in for a quick drink before table reservation for dinner elsewhere. Atmosphere and music superb, service behind the bar attentive and chatty! Still my favourite pub in Paisley!

The atmosphere is great. Always busy at night when I go, and they have plenty of options of drinks to choose from. When I went for food last year I remember it being great also.

Turn the volume down. Yes you have earplugs on the bar but both times I've been in now it's been deafening and impossible to have a conversation.

It's hard to tell about the atmosphere I was in for about an hour for soup and a juice. Lovely staff.

We went here for dinner as a last minute thing, and were not disappointed. The food was clearly fresh, and came out hot. The pizza is particularly lovely. Good beer, reasonable prices, excellent music, and the staff were so welcoming and nice. I'll definitely be making this place my go to for a quick pint or a nice dinner from now on!

Lovely service, toke my Paraguayan friend in here for a quick drink, very pleasant nice staff, good music. Also seems busy so must be doing something right. Is a tad pricey but that's it 💯✊🔥

Food was surprisingly good. Great improve on a few years ago. Staff were nice. I will be back. A Sunday visit so a bit quiet.

Lovely jubbly, tasty pints, funky bar staff, funkier tunes, mad tasty scran (burgers are phenomenal), open mic Wednesdays? Unmatched. Live music weekends? Undefeated. 'Nuff said

Quiz on a Tuesday always a good night and great atmosphere

At the Keg there was a group called The Projection that was playing. The Keg apart from providing live music had two huge televisions which provided additional entertainment. An enjoyable evening.

Great wee pub. Went to the quiz on the Tuesday and got free chicken wings! Also dined here previously and the food was great. Decent prices too. If you're into rock music, this is the pub in Paisley to be in.

Only went in to their outdoor tented area on Gilmour Street. Drinks brought to your table but food ordering and service seemed to be a bit more variable - according to others.

I visited the Keg and requested a burger from the menu. After a considerable time I was served it. I took one bite and discovered it was smothered in black pepper, rendering it inedible to me! I asked the staff member who served it and was told they always add 'seasoning' - but there was nothing on the menu to indicate the 'seasoning' used was black pepper! I could not eat it so I left dissatisfied.

Food 10/10. Good atmosphere. Great live music at the weekends. Cheap drinks. Friendly bar staff. Best pub in Paisley!

Great vibe inside. Rock or alternative music. I loved it but my two mates thought it was too loud. Mix of all sort of people.

Nice response from owner for what was obviously just bad timing so altering my review (my daughter also basically lives in the place and that's the reason I went in the first place so another reason for the alteration as she'd kill me if I left it) hopefully pop in again at some point to find out why she raves about it so much.

Great little hole in the wall spot, incredibly friendly staff, darn good food, and an excellent atmosphere. Caught an open mic night, as well as a trivia night here and enjoyed both thoroughly. About the closest American establishment I have found in Scotland

Cozy little pub with a little stage for live music and screens. Good food and drinks for reasonable prices. The highlight was the very handsome and hot guy serving behind the pub with piercing blue eyes 🥰

Love this place...stopped in here before getting on a flight! The regulars are friendly and welcoming!

A five-minute walk from the train depot. If it's a good burger and a pint you are looking for, be sure and stop at The Keg. Don't forget to try the onion rings, some of the best I've had anywhere. Not greasy at all. The burgers are as good as any I've had in the US. Not a patty. A real meat burger. Vegan options available as well. Friendly staff, comfortable seating. Wish the music was a little less loud so you could carry on a proper conversation but otherwise, the jovial community made it a proper place to get an enjoyable bite to eat.

Out first visit post lockdowns. Unfortunately it has went downhill (much like most establishments). Firstly food we ordered was nice but they have vastly reduced their portion size. The wings used to be epic, massive three knuckle things…now they are more like baby sized wings. Fries were nice but again half of what you used to get. Heineken and Fosters weren’t the best…lacked any life in them. Also 4.70 for a pint is more Glasgow city centre prices. Layout of bar is decent with big screens and staff were very pleasant and attentive. I would go back but you’re not getting the experience of 2/3 years ago. I 3.5 out of 5.

Visited here 21st Jan 22, with family to celebrate my Grandsons birthday, Heather and Trevor made us feel like part of the family, plus the live singer they had on was amazing, also Jamie thank you for the wee dance we had, loved it. Would definitely recommend, and we will definitely be back. Thank you guys xx

Great service and excellent food. We had the onion rings, homemade, nice and crispy. Macaroni with black pudding was amazing. Burger was spot on best I've had in a good while.

Excellent service and all food fantastic - Salt & Chilli popcorn chicken, chilli cheese fries, chicken wings, pizza and my personal favourite is the tasty burgers. Big portions and good value for money. Also two large TVs, live music, open mic night and quiz night. Great place to visit in Paisley.

Visited with the draw of live music and vegan options but was very disappointed. I asked the staff if there were any vegan mains and was told the burger was vegan but the bun wasn’t and the wraps weren’t cause there were egg in them. I was then told the burger wasn’t in fact vegan and that I could order a side of vegan Mac and cheese. Why would you offer vegan sides but no main meal? Bizarre and misleading. Waiter was nice but not particularly knowledgeable. We ended up cancelling the order and leaving without our dinner.

Great Food Would Highly recommend It

I visited with a few friends a month or so ago and we were served in the outside area. We were served by a male waiter who was perfectly friendly and nice! Our food was lovely, apart from the pizza which arrived with missing items on it, stale and just tasted off in general. We each tasted a bite of a slice to confirm our decision (I reiterate- 1 bite out of each slice) and I asked if we could swap it for something else of the same value. This is when Heather who claims to be the owner of the restaurant (if she is then this is truly appalling) came outside in an argumentative and aggressive manner and stated that she would not be removing it from the bill or swapping anything as it was mostly eaten. We proceeded to finish the rest of our food and insisted that we didn’t want to pay for the pizza (£13) and Heather stormed (quite literally) back out calling me “my friend” and saying it was one of their best selling items. She finally blew up and said “I’m not going to argue over pizza, so I’ll just pay for your full meal” this is not what we were looking for and truly an embarrassment for the other customers dining around us. To finish her performance off, once Heather left us, she came back to loudly ask other customers if they were enjoying their food and if it was indeed “ENJOYABLE” which is simply out, an embarrassment for her. I have had a look at both Facebook and Google reviews and noticed Heather’s name a few times when negative reviews come up. If she is- as she says- the owner then I would ask that she questions her customer service skills, as they leave a lot to be desired and this won’t be the last time she loses customers. We simply asked if we could swap a below average pizza for something else. An attitude check is needed ASAP.

Behaviour of the Manager leaves at a lot be desired, aggressive and unprofessional. First and last visit. Update I appreciate you must be busy, and thank you for responding. The (child) are young adults. I understand it would be a busy night, but it would be nice if you had explained you were at capacity. They carry ID as they understand they look young, something they will appreciate, but a problem just now. They were meeting friends as they were looking forward to open night mic. To approach them when they were talking to their friends outside and be aggressive was not necessary. They had not been drinking as one was driving. Manners really do cost nothing. I understand you own the premises and have the right to refuse entry, having worked in the service industry I fully understand, but common Courtesy and manner are fundamental. Thank you again for taking the time to respond to this review, but maybe take the same time to be KIND to your customers too.

Overpriced, food was lukewarm and was refused BBQ sauce as it wasnt asked for when placing order. Update ..asked to contact to discuss and no reply a week later. Poor show

First time we went there for a few beers and a meal yesterday. Not too busy inside, got our Guinness quick and altough we prefer the "warmer" one it was nice. I ordered a cheeseburger (amazingly tasty), onion rings (lovely & crispy) and my partner had the chilli wrap (made him go up in flames). Great owner and lovely staff will definitely come back!

Good music and lovely staff, definitely be back.

Came in for a quick drink on a hot day and thought the outdoor area would be good cover for our wee dog. Didn't see any staff assisting the outdoor seating area. Eventually took a seat only to be met with a shout from across the street from a short blonde haired member of staff, demanding we stood outside while we wait to be seated. There were only 3 tables taken at this time. We then stood outside and waited for a good few minutes, before being directed straight back to the seats we initially took. There were no queues at this time, and no one sitting inside. The girl that eventually served us was very nice, but the first girl who shouted at us from across the street really does need to learn a thing or two about being courteous to paying customers.

Regular visitor to the keg when I am back in town. Always friendly staff with great food and music. Have big screens for sports and it’s seconds from the train station and taxi rank. Prices reasonable and food always miles better than spoons. Check it out if your a buddy or just visiting a great wee roon

Great bar. Food and drinks are top notch. Whole team is lovely and go the extra mile to ensure the experience makes you want to come back again (and again and again).

First time visiting this pub and I must say it is EXTREMELY good for food and flgeneral atmosphere. The music is great and isn't too loud at all, the staff are really friendly and attentive and the food is just incredible. I had a "Build your own burger" which was beef and bacon, cheese, pulled pork, and extra cheese and it was amazing! Chips were cooked fresh and the bacon mac n cheese was epic as well! My ONLY criticism were the onion rings. Although the batter was perfect, there was somehow pretty-much no flavour to the onion rings at all. Not sure how that works with onions, but hey-ho, this was only a very very minor detractor from what was otherwise a perfect evening meal!

Super arrangement for social distancing.. Enjoyed the match of football with a couple of beers.. Very kind staff too.. Chèers!

Great food! Excellent choice of build your own burgers & sides. Friendly, helpful staff who even helped me book a taxi home after discovering limits to train service after 8pm! Will definitely be back!
