A cozy and lovely cafe. The staff are friendly. I had spicy chicken sandwich, which was freshly made and impressive. The caramel latte was also really nice!

Went in yesterday with my partner we had a bacon barm with hash brown each my partner’s hash brown had gone off tasted disgusting they took it back and brought him a fresh one then that was frozen inside that cost us £17 there around also there bottles of Ho sauce is not HP inside it tastes very sweet we will NOT be going back plus we were good customers never again my partner was told they would knock the hash brown off the bill 🤨 very very disappointing obviously they don’t want to keep hold of there customers

Went for breakfast with my wife we go there often, yesterday was the worse food we had ever had anywhere, won't be going again mouldy hash brown then replace with hash brown still frozen in the middle, nasty cafe, they need to get a new chief and new stock instead of serving old stock or even make fresh food instead of cutting corners 🤢🤢🤮

Lovely place. Staff are more than helpful without being "those annoying, hovering around staff! Breakfast is cracking (separate pots of beans etc for those of us who are nèurospicey and can't stand them mixed in on the plate!😆). A go to for cafe food in Droylsden.

This cafe has had several different owners since I first reviewed it. It used to be excellent, but each change of ownership has resulted in a change of staff, and most times a shortage of staff. So the food and service is very variable. Sometimes good and sometimes poor. Also, for anyone disabled or with walking difficulties, the only toilet is upstairs so that’s not ideal either.

We found the cafe by chance and thought we would give it a try. Food and latte was absolutely gorgeous! We will definitely be coming back again. They also have fresh cakes which are amazing.

A Pleasant Experience at Hideout! I recently visited Hideout and was really happy with the experience. The place has a nice atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed right away. The prices were low which was a pleasant surprise. The food quality was good, everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. It's a great place to enjoy a meal without spending a lot. What stood out the most was the staff's kindness. They were all very friendly, but Diyako, the manager, was exceptionally kind and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The customer service was good, making our visit smooth and enjoyable. I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend Hideout to others.

Fantastic food and great service

Cafe looks nice of exterior but this is deceiving.. food is terrible all cheap even the Heinz sause bottle is not Heinz sauce inside the bottle …I ordered a cheese and onion omelette came with very little cheese and far too much onion also order a breakfast which came with burnt bacon and the most horrible sausages …. Finally very over priced …… avoid

I wouldn't normally write a post like this but after experiencing such awful service, I really feel it is appropriate to share. Myself, my mum and my two young children decided to try The Hideout cafe at lunch today. We arrived just after 1130 so assumed we'd be in and out pretty quickly. We ordered a jacket potato, kids fish finger meal and a cheese toastie with drinks. After 20 mins of waiting for the food, the jacket potato arrived. For £6.50 I received basically a mayo tuna potato (literally white with the amount of mayo) and a side salad of a few shreds of lettuce, one piece of cucumber cut in half and half a piece of tomato. After another 10 minutes with no other food arriving, and two very hungry children, I asked for an update. I was told 3/4 minutes. Another 10 minutes passed, our car parking due session to run out soon, out came the second adult meal. This was also incorrect, as a pannini had been made instead of a toastie. Another apology followed as there was still no kids meal ready. We gave up at this point and told him to cancel it and take the pannini back. I requested a refund and was given the cost of the pannini and kids meal back. 45 minutes in there to sit and eat a mayo jacket potato whilst my children waited for fish fingers and chips and pay a total of £9.40 for the privilege. No real apology, he just tried to say he had been telling people they were busy but admitted he didn't tell me. Gutted that somewhere like Industry can close just next door where the service was fab.

I've been here multiple times and more recently the food and service has declined. It's in a great spot, so footfall is good but if you don't have the staff level right you're not going to provide the right service. The last time I went the food was very slow to arrive and the main dish and salad side was so basic. I waited 20 minutes for a coffee. I'll go back, we all have bad days but I'd hope to see improvement if I am to go there multiple times in the future.

The staff are lovely. Really nice. The place is clean and airy. I had a large beeakfast. Sausages were a little over done for my liking, but still nice. The hash browns were the best id had. Very crispy. Overall, a little gem in droylsden.

Food ok. Salad definitely had seen better days was all brown round the edges. Panini was nice though. Little bit on the pricey end for a cafe. Service - the blonde lady who served me was lovely very polite. However the lady who gave me my food! Very rude slammed plates down in middle of the table without asking who’s dish was for who. Didn’t ask if we wanted any extra condiments such as mayonnaise or vinegar etc. Did not say at all. Normally you would be told at least to enjoy your food ? First and last time for me unfortunately. I don’t mind paying more but for better service.

Went in with my mum and auntie, when the food arrived it was already cold and my mums had been sat in front of another customer for at least 5 minutes. When she asked for a fresh one to be made, they took it back and brought it out again (quite clearly the same food) and hadn't even heated it up. On all of our plates the eggs were cold and the yolks were rock hard. When we politely explained the issues we were offered replacement but given that we had already tried with my mums food we were not interested and they refused to give us a refund. Even without the issues with my mums dish the food was terrible quality and very expensive. Would have given it a minus stars if possible.

Called in the hidehou today 1 Feb 2023 asked chicken soup none available got tomato which was basically a tin of tomatoes warmed toast hard my husband had chicken sandwich bread stale and cold left it all not a good experience short staffed used to be good now not so sure both my husband and I are in our 70s hope it gets better

I have recently been into Hideout three times. Each time the food has been great, good size portions, with lovely coffee and friendly staff. The cafe is a clean and pleasant to sit in. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely relaxing place and the cheese on toast is No1 thanks to the chef Debbie who made it.

Didn't expect the meal is so large and delicious!!

Had an extremely nice large Latte yesterday. I was still thirsty so I asked for a glass of milk. The young lady obliged but wouldn't take any payment. Really nice place, I look forward to trying their breakfast. I'm sure it will be wonderful.

Overpriced by a mile , I think the only good thing about this place is the chippy next door .

Just had the most pathetic looking and overpriced breakfast sandwich from here. Asked for 3 ingredients but they only put 2 in. Asked for no butter due to a dairy allergy and the thing was caked in it. Went straight in the bin, will not be going back.

Jacket potatoes is rock hard, the cheese is like glue - absolutely disgusting. No cutlery to take away, was told to go nextdoor to chinese chippy to get a fork, so I had to buy a knife and fork from wilko to eat my dinner.

Nice location and lovely staff, but the food not very nice and quite expensive for what you get...definitely the kitchen needs some changes 🙁

Food out of the kitchen is terrible breakfast. Under cooked bacon over cooked eggs . They have a job vacancy for a cook . I suggest they employ one immediately. Would not eat here again.

The food and service here is second to none. Lovely, clean cafe with really nice, comfortable seating. Booths downstairs and more seating upstairs. It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Outstanding. Just updating. Multiple visits, still just as good

scrambled egg came as a hard cold block of egg looked like a brick, when cut open into the egg it was all grey/green! food safety issues avoid for your own health reasons over priced

cafe with food and drink but you have to wait ages for your order I ordered a bacon bap was cold had to send it back to be honest I prefer Roma it's a basic cafe okay for a drink seen a few people moaning about the wait

I'm not happy with the experience I've received lately since Cameron left and a few other staff the food and coffee has gone really down hil had to wait 25 mins just for my latte when I got there and was barely warm. When I got my breakfast they forgot my poached eggs and when they arrived the eggs was slimy and tomatos was freezing the plate was cold that it was served on and the toast was like it was made ten minutes before it was served this use to be the place to go for breakfast but since there's been a few changes this is really poor quality of food and service.wont be going back there at all.will go elsewhere tomorrow

It's a lovely venue, the staff are friendly and the coffee was just how I like it, but the Full English I ordered wasn't great. Although it was well presented, the sausages were cheap and flavourless, fried eggs were overly snotty and most of it was stone cold. It was lunchtime, so a busy period, and I get that, but I found the food quite disappointing.

EDIT; Apparently this place has learned nothing from all the reviews. So I’ve reduced mine. Once again, My children had finished their meal before I had even received mine. What is the bloody point of a cafe that can’t even make meals for one table at once? And serve meals for tables that came in after us before my own? Staff rude to the point of consternation when I complained about this. I received a refund for the one meal, because I said it was pointless my having it whilst my kids sit there and do nothing whilst I eat, and this I didn’t eat. But the staff were sneering in giving it to me. All in all, it’s a terrible experience, and it’s all down to the staff. The food is good quality. As are the drinks. All let down by staff they couldn’t organise an explosion in a firework factory. I won’t be coming back.

I was in Droylsden having some work done on my car and fancied some breakfast. I saw A Coffee by the tram stop and thought I would try it out and I am very glad I did. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I ordered a large latte and the eggs Benedict - both were brilliant and very reasonably priced. If I am in this area again I will definitely come back - fancy trying the freshly made bagels next time.

Great coffee and efficient service but don't go if it's busy cos they find it hard to keep up. Only wish they would go back to the original 8am opening time instead of the now 9am. Oh and try the speciality coffees, the pumpkin spice in last November was truly remarkable.

Are you looking for a place to have a decent meal and good coffee in an environment that is clean, cosy and free of the awful smell of burnt oil that many coffee & kitchen places have? Then the Coffee & Kitchen in Droylsden is your choice! For me this is the best place in the town to sit in chilled atmosphere, read a book or work on my laptop while having good food, nice street view from their window and affordable prices! You can have two-meal lunch with dessert and coffee for 12 pounds! They have a good mix between English dishes and additions from the Polish cuisine which works perfect! Member of their stuff, Basia, makes weekly wonderful home-made cakes that you won't believe how good they are! Of course if you are lucky before it's gone! :D I am here every weekend. Although, I am not a fan of the English breakfasts I always see the restaurant packed with locals enjoying their meals. I love their Soup of the Day freshly made daily and bagels with salad. I think with their menu choice, friendly atmosphere and superior location the Coffe&Kitchen serves very well both; the local and European Droylsden's community. I hope they will keep their good work at least as long as I am living in Droylsden!

UPDATE May 2019: Even though the refurbishment has been carried out tastefully, I truly wish that our latest visit would have been more positive. (used to give this place 5*) We immediately noticed that the Menu had changed and that the prices had gone up... again. I wouldn't have mind a change of menu but the choice has become rather limited. I did however notice Smashed Avocado on the menu, so I thought I would definitely give that a try. Well, that would probably have been nice, but they had run out of avocado... sigh. So we went back to ordering Eggs Florentine (offered even though no longer on the menu) and the Wild Mushrooms. My girlfriend found her Eggs Florentine to be too "watery" with mushroom juices and water from the poached eggs soaking the plate. My Wild Mushrooms were nice but the "salsa verde" (well pesto really) was too overpowering for this dish, so it ended up tasting like mushrooms with pesto... We also noticed that it takes much longer now to get a couple of hot drinks. Service seems to have slowed down. On the bright side, the place still looks cosy and stylish, with staff being very attentive and friendly. The Flat White is also still rather good, so I would now rather go for the "A Coffee" but not so much for the "Kitchen"... shame really. # # # Cosy and friendly place serving quality coffee (make sure to try the flat white) and food. Especially enjoying the Egg Royale and Egg Florentine. Exactly what Droylsden needed!

A silver shiny coffee machine and cakes that they buy in. All good. But you paying Costa\Starbuck prices. The stuff that is prepared and cooked in the kitchen is generally poor. Particularly the English breakfast is awful. You need to rethink what you buying and how you cook. Cos you ain't doing it half as good as the Rioba or other cafes in the area.

2nd visit. 1st time great. This time not. 3 meals all arrived separately 1st ok. 2nd poor value. 3rd burnt. Sent it back. Finished first two meals before they even said they couldn't replace the burnt one!...not likely to go back 😏

I love this cafe. Usually go at about twice a week for lunch. Food is lovely and staff really friendly. They have however recently changed the menu and don't do any healthy options any more ie their lovely chicken salad. I didn't go today because I am trying to be good so stayed home and made my own. Think they really need reconsider their new menu. Otherwise would get a full 5 stars.

We did not enjoy our recent visit to A Coffee Kitchen. Half the breakfast orders were wrong, missing items or not cooked as requested. Generally the breakfast items were poor quality and dried out and the toast was cold. The bacon was particularly not nice had a white slimy residue. You appeared to ignore all our requests for certain cooked items. Eggs and bacon missing on some some plates. Not great, took most of the bacon and sausage home to our pets. I have previously enjoyed some good breakfasts at your cafe but recently I have seen a reduction in standards and today was very disappointing.

Nice place to look at, but the food was awful, my beef burger was so underdone, and soggy. The chef needs sacking, customer service wasn’t great either, coffee was good. That’s it.

Freshly ground coffee, amazing staff and service.

We visited here for the first time on Wednesday and I was really impressed. Inside it is welcoming and homely and the lady on the till and the man cooking the food were very friendly and smiley. The food was very tasty and was freshly made and there was a wide selection of cakes, biscuits and coffee. We tried the black forest hot chocolate. It was amazing! Sooo tasty! I would definitely pay this place a visit. I like to support small businesses too ☺️.

I am sometimes in the area and this has just opened since I was last here. Went in for a Full English breakfast and it was nicely cookedand presented, great value at £5.50. The place is clean and confortable and decorated to a nice standard. Only slight negative if I had to pick was the girl who served me was not cheerful but she was polite, but is late in the day and not stopping me awarding a five star

I come here a lot (and it is a 40 minute bus ride each way for me, which tells you something! ) Friendly, flexible, great price, great coffee, lovely cakes, fresh options and lovely full breakfasts. The omlettes are amazing.
