Excellent little pub serving great beers at reasonable prices. Friendly, helpful staff. Turn up early evening and you can even sit outside in the sun, perfect!

Fabulous quirky little pub down a narrow passage. Everyone was very friendly and the beer and cider was good. Free bar snacks on Sunday too.

Appealing little craft beer place that might just warrant a trip to Stockton by itself. A real locals spot - place was full of old timers waxing lyrical on various issues. Really pleasant, gregarious young chap called Cameron manning the casks was a nice little bonus ball.

Don't know anything about the food but great range of changing real ales and ciders. Very good value. Quite small but not as micro as some.

Fantastic place Gave us samples of the beers before we ordered, great service & atmosphere. We sat outside & watched as a mass of people with flags marched up the alley. The real ale society a great diverse group of people we chatted with.

A wonderful, unique and rather small pub with a rotating cast of drinks and a handsome cast of regulars. 2023 update: still handsome. Cracking drinks. Also, the other patrons are decent humans. Plenty of good chat and a welcoming atmosphere.

Or in other words: *A wonderful micro pub serving an amazingly eclectic selection of beverages from all manner of producers around Europe, and the world ! **The wonderfully welcoming Golden Smog community was second to none, involving me in all their discussions, chat and banter -it's difficult not to become part of it as you literally rub shoulders with the igliterati of Teesside 👍 It's a must-visit if you're in the area and like proper beer, if you live here you should already know of this amazing hop imporium.

This is my favourite pub, the staff are fantastic it’s dog friendly and everything is kept very clean and tidy. The casks change all the time and there is always something different for this reason. The fridge is stocked very well with a variety of different ales and I’m never stuck for choice. I always try something new every time I visit.

In Hambleton alley close to Shambles Toilets Has different beers/lagers/ciders mainly from indepedent small brewerys prices reasonable place is small-micro pub .place clean ,toilets upstairs.
