Just been back to O'Brien's limavady food is usually good . God cod supper chips were overcooked fish batter on one side sitting pure thick other side very little batter also over cooked . Sorry but won't be back.

Its definitely gone down hill so much since covid. Portions are too small for price, service is deadly slow and certain elderly members of staff need to STOP open favouritism!! Needs a total overhall and returned to the days of when Dominic had it as towns best chippy

Great food served but a bit expensive.

Phoned an order for 2 bags of chips and a taco dip was told to come straight down so I did then was waiting 15 minutes please tell your staff not to say that on the phone as it is false I find it hard to stand and wait due to a leg injury if I had been told 10 minutes I could have waited in my car until the 10 minute was up very poor service

Was driving through Limavady and was hungry so selected this place based on google reviews. It is the highest rated chippy in Limavady for a reason. The fish supper was amazing, golden brown and tasty chips with no grease at all. Also the staff were very friendly. Would def recommend and i will be back next time im up in that part od the country.

Had a chippy here for the first time tonight. All the food was very fresh.. the chicken goujons were fresh and really good value. Staff very helpful and friendly and the order was correct. Very reasonably priced also. Will definitely be back here.

Love this chippy! Food is always piping hot & reasonably priced. Good portions too! Their chips are always cooked perfectly, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Their fruity curry is one of my faves too, highly recommend!

Would go here again to feed my dog . Throw ur food in containers NOT ONE NAPKIN. and not a one time occasion. I gave the benefit of the dought to think maybe was one bad day but no twice so stay away from inconsistent workers . Seemed to be a hassle to hand out a cheap napkin

Been loyal for 30 yrs to this chip shop but I am getting so annoyed with the mouthy member of staff shall we say D Her name starts with and worked there for decades!!! Its bad enough she rushes certain people through whilst thinking the rest of us can wait, but to give certain members chips with their fish and rest of us none thats a step too far.I spend a lot in here but no more. Until ALL CUSTOMERS GET EQUALITY

This place has gone hill used to go often the Past few times the food was poor half of the chips were crumbs one member of staff had a uncovered gash in her arm where was the hygiene there

I lived next to Dominics ( golden chipper) all my life and tonight I have had the worse meal of my life. The chips where dry and the fish was like rubber. In Dominics day you would never have got a bad meal. The management and staff would need to catch themselves on and go back to cookery school. I asked for a large chocolate milkshake and 9 nuggets and when I got it I received a medium strawberry milkshake then I said I asked for a large chocolate milkshake and I received it thinking it was chocolate got home found out it was a large banana milkshake they should get it right and the service was not as great but I understand that it’s because of this whole pandemic and it was busy

Great quality food and service especially dympna, only issue ive got with them is if you place a phone order even if they know u they only start processing your order once you go in door and give your name. The point of ordering in advance is not having to wait in line so basically phoning an order in is a waste of time. Other than that it's got the best fish in the country.

Grabbed fish n chips from here took them to Benone and ate them on the beech in the sun. The fish was the size off a shark lol it was excellent food. I will b bk again 4 defs as its clean and staff r super friendly

I decided to get something different for tea, didn’t want to cook. A decided to have a lazy tea. The food was very tasty and portions were of a good size.

Loved this chip shop for 40 yrs but unfortunately it's went to the dogs. Forget how woefully slow the staff are the quality of the food is appalling. Chips are bad, burgers are dry and tasteless and the fish that used to be to die for is greasy batter and fit for the bin. Have given it 4 chances to redeem itself but sorry it's now past it so any recommendations of a tasty chip shop in limavady welcome

This used to be the best chippy in the town but now I feel the standards have dropped. The last two times I have had food from here the chips have been so hard and over cooked I couldn't eat them. I afraid I'm going to have to try somewhere different next time .

Took my very hungry boys after the pool for a bite, the place was very busy and that's always a good sign. Each member of staff was very pleasant, the girl who took my order was very helpful recommending dishes. Quick service, great value and hot tasty food - have already recommended it to family and friends!

I knew the guy that owned this place but unfortunately he died not so very long ago. It's a great place to eat and you always had the craic with the Staff.

Favourite chip shop for 20 yrs but def feel standards dropping. Chips are very hit and miss now with over cooked being common occurrence although fish is still best in the town! Slight improvements and can be 5 star again

Best chicken goujons, gravy & garlic mayo ever! Chips are excellent too. The goujons are fried in the same batter as the fish & are really crispy.

Disappointing as this chip shop used to be top class. Depending on what time of the day it is the food is either great or far too greasy and burnt. Not always worth the wait but the staff are always pleasant at least

We use The Golden Chipper every week and have never been disappointed. The food is always first rate, the portions generous, price is reasonable and the staff so friendly.

I've been using this Chipper for a number of years, the quality and prices have remained extremely good value. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant to everyone, including the numerous School Kids on a School Day Lunch Break.

Great wee chippy food is always fab, but its packed at tea times so go early, late or phone your order in and collect it. Especially weekends :-)
