We stayed at this hotel and in my review I forgot to say the breakfasts were excellent! The dinner menu as good and the food was great.

The Glasshouse Restaurant is very comfortable and has an excellent menu (which I may add has changed apparently within the last month). The service was perfect and the food was presented perfectly and was very enjoyable.

If you just want a refuelling breakfast, this is not awful. Having had a reasonable bowl of cereal and yogurt, I looked at the hot dishes, and was put off by the slightly grey scrambled eggs. The croissants and pain au chocolat were like nothing I had seen before. Instead of being flakey, they were leaden, rather like a poor bagel. When we complained, the restaurant manager assured us that the 'chef' had freshly baked them the night before and that they had then been stored in the fridge. This is an interesting method!

Had dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of steak but decided to try it and was not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The whole meal, pate, steak and lemon tart was delicious.

Steak came cold. Sent back. Came back slightly warmer. Manager said she spoke to the kitchen and didn't really apologise. It totally ruined my wife and my birthday meal. Would have stayed for a pudding but the managerrs and server's attitude was poor. Paid bill in full and look forward to sharing my views on social media. Its only the second time in 45 years I have complained about a meal. Was really looking forward to it too. What a poor experience. After all this the server expected a tip! Really. He asked me what he had done wrong!

Nice cup of coffee thanks! Greeted by Holly who was chatty and took my order with advice when asked for (type of milk used, how many shots). Not a regular at Starbucks but would return. Holly wished me a happy holiday too! This after the the smoothest transit trough the airport ever. Lots to like today at Liverpool JL airport.
