The Church in Liverpool

Match day when Liverpool won the league. First time visit. What a great place to watch football and have a drink. Converted church. More like a social club. Loads of space to sit or stand and still see the big screen. Friendly staff all working very hard. Loads of selection on drinks. There was also a small food counter serving burgers, chios, hot dogs which looked good before kick off, but I didn't try these myself. Will visit again if I'm unable to get football tickets and want to watch the game on the big screen instead.

Lovely place to go before the match

This place was awesome. Old church renovated into a pub with a massive projector thats 5 min walking distance from anfield. It's a shame we didn't get a chance to be here on a game day

Great venue for sports and food

An outstanding venue to watch the match. Good Guinness at 4.60 per pint. Giant screen, brilliant atmosphere, so much better than the Sandon, which is dreadful. A super easy walk to Anfield.

Plenty of staff serving, as it was busy after the match, good choice of beers and lagers, nice to see Peroni Red available, and huge TV screen to watch the 5.30 match.

( Atmosphere / Decor) When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted in a free space, full of tables and chairs, but airy at the same time, you don't feel crowded even if the restaurant is full. Full of decorations on the left and right of the place. I ate inside, there is also a small terrace, outside the location is quite basic, tables, chairs, umbrellas, nothing out of the ordinary. (Menu / Dishes) The menu is not very extensive, but it is quite good, a necessary minimum. There are also vegetarian dishes, but very few, I didn't notice any vegan ones. I ate a burger with fries and a little salad, which was good. (Ingredients / Drinks / Prices) All the produce looked fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home cooking. The restaurant also caters for all tastes, offering a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The prices of the dishes are more than decent, it is not even in the center of the city. The quality-price ratio is good. (Service / Waiters / Owner) The place was empty, about 3-4 people, the food came in a decent time of 15 minutes. The service was good, the waiters are kind, funny and very talkative, in a good way and they do their job very well. (Recommendation) I would add more vegetarian/vegan dishes to the menu, I had a pleasant culinary experience, and the terrace is more suitable for a cigarette and a beer. However, I highly recommend you go.

I went the day before the final game of the season when Jurgen said goodbye and it was a calm, friendly and very well attended atmosphere. This photo is from an hour before and I can assure you that I want to return, the atmosphere of Anfield was in The Church!!!

We came for the away football game. Huge tv-screen, and a real scouser feel.

Perfect location for a pint on matchday. Didn't eat but there was some food available. Good beer and clean glasses.

My friends and I visited this place for a casual evening of beer and slots. However, our joy quickly turned into frustration when we won some money and the staff refused to pay us. After threatening to involve the police, they miraculously found our winnings and promptly kicked us out. Total scam – steer clear of this place!

A great place close to the Anfield stadium, ad an away fan didn't feel threatened and was pleasantly surprised how friendly it was.

Great for watching a football match, ideally Liverpool. Particularly friendly staff and very cheap drinks. I recommend.

I have no idea where this place is? I'm assuming that Google has spotted me walking past it at some point, as you only have to be in the vicinity it seems of anywhere and Google asks you to review it!!

No praying required.. Great little visit after a mooch around Anfield with Dad, stopped here for a pint and some good honest pub grub and it did not disappoint on quality and decent fair prices! Highly recommend and looking forward to the ‘Sunday roast’ which was highly rated by others in the venue, see you soon! Only consideration to be aware of, is we don’t see any disabled access so worth noting and phoning venue to double check

Excellent place to watch sport on a giant screen,friendly staff,great range of both food and drinks at a reasonable price and a lovely environment around I would highly recommend here for anyone 😀

Church pub great for watching Liverpool matches

We did a tour of Anfield and were unsure if we'd find a family friendly place to watch Man City v Liverpool match afterwards. Anfield museum staff suggested The Church and we headed there. Exactly what we needed. Boisterous Liverpool fans but great friendly atmosphere. Good match food and biggest screen I've seen outside a cinema.

Not bad for pre game drinks, you get served quick enough and selection and quality of the beer is decent.

Just a short walk down the road from LFC grounds with a big screen for sports in the old church and good prices for drinks and snacks.

Only live 5minutes from it an first time in it but will be back great barmaid on very pleasant

My first Official Sunday Roast. Delicious!!! Absolutely marvelous staff and customers. I felt like I was back home in my family kitchen. Great place to watch football. I'll definitely visit again!

Fantastic place and great atmosphere

Great sports pub. Terrific screen, biggest I have ever seen in a pub! And was not a projector! Beers were well priced, and decent selection, but no alcohol free beers. Food looked decent, good fill before the game.

1st visit from a recommendation. I went to order only to be told they have changed food service tines. Anyway when the chef did cone in. She was ever so respectful. She actually came over face to face to explain that we still had to wait for applianced to hear up. Fish, gammon and steak all cooked to prediction. I think her name was jenna. This is my husband account I have never gave a review but i felt I needed to show our appreciation. My hibby not from Liverpool either. We will hopefully be back soon .

Pre-match athmosphere was great. Unfortunately, the food (Burgers/Chips) was not so great. 3 out of 5 of us were seriously ill to the stomach the night/day after.

It's tidy place for Liverpool fans

Pop in to the Church for a drink and snack after our Anfield stadium tour, which is a 5 minute walk. Great friendly service and 6pints and a massive sharer of chicken, mushrooms and loads of other bits for only £26. Well worth the money and a great discovery for next time we’re up in Liverpool.

A great place to go on match day for a drink or, to watch the match itself. They do food but, we didn't have any today. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. One thing to note, it's cash only.

Stunning building and great atmosohere after the match. Avoid the Carling though and get Coors or something else if drinking pints
