The Cellar bar in Cookstown

Such a beautiful place to have dinner in. Everything was just wonderful from start to finish. Would highly recommend

Lovely restaurant decor, Staff where very helpful and attentive. Sadly let down by the food! portions where big just lacked flavour Italian chicken bread soaked in tomato sauce. Potato skins where more chips than potato skins

We visited the hotel today for lunch with our daughter and two granddaughters to celebrate Erin's 2nd birthday. From the moment we arrived staff were receptive and friendly. It was service with a smile from all staff. The food was delicious and Erin was delighted with her ice cream which had a birthday sparkler in it accompanied by Happy birthday music over the intercom. Would definitely reccommend a visit.

My darling wife and I have dined here twice recently after the reopening with Covid restrictions. Food selection and quality were very good. Service was friendly and attentive. We will certainly be back soon.

WE had afternoon tea as a group and it was fantastic. Beautiful display and choices of sandwiches and pastries. Delicious

Arrived early enough for a late lunch, an exceptional Carvery Tanya looked after me and showed me where everything was. A good table by a window, plenty of choice. I decided just to have carvery to save some room for dinner. Breakfast was just as good if you stay. Good for celebrations etc.

I was here for dinner on a Saturday night just after Christmas. It was relatively busy but the staff were friendly and the service was pretty good. The manageress Michelle was a good laugh and quite chatty. I felt the food could have been a bit better though. My prawns seemed quite rubbery and the tacos were a bit basic but plentiful. Really liked the decor though!

Lush carpets, lighting, etc makes a wonderful atmosphere in which to sit and enjoy a beautifully cooked meal.

The hotel is beautiful, really well decorated and looks the part. However the restaurant is downstairs, darker and quite cold. We called in for a family meal on the way home from a day out. Service was not great, restaurant was not overly busy so no excuse. The food was nothing to write home about either. Servers need either more training or a pay rise as they were not very caring about checking on tables for drinks, extras etc. The servers had to be called over to place repeat drinks orders and when they did take the drinks orders they forgot about them so we kept having to call others as they were passing. The food was certainly nothing to write home about when it eventually came to the table. Two of our party did not get their starters until the other six of us were finished ours, this was repeated for the main courses as well. Very embarrassing as we had to start eating ours before the others got theirs served to them, however if we had not started eating they would have been cold as there was quite a delay. When the mains arrived they were lukewarm and certainly did not enhance the experience. Also some side orders have yet to arrive despite numerous requests to staff. Such a shame as the Hotel from the outside is really appealing but the restaurant is not worth a visit in our experiences.

Delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. We had the steak and fajitas, almost forgot the seafood chowder, all absolutely fabulous.

Called in last Friday for dinner with my girlfriend. I had the fillet steak, cooked medium rare. The steak was cooked to perfection. We where served by Sateer(?) and he was very welcoming and friendly. A hidden gem in Cookstown

Visited here for an aunts birthday and to be honest I wasn't looking forward to it following a recent visit as a wedding guest. However ill be the first to admit the food was genuinely beautiful and the staff were lovely makes me think maybe I was just dealing with a bad agency staff member before. Anyway would totally recommend coming here for a meal I will certainly return

we had really god food every time we stay, breakfast has a good range to chose from. lunch is really good . we had dinner in the evenings best food around

Regularmente frecuentan el bar bodega para comer el domingo cuando estoy en la zona de cookstown. Después de haber viajado extensamente puedo afirmar categóricamente que este es de lejos el mejor almuerzo de domingo que he probado jamás; un servicio de asados, las raciones son increíbles, el personal es excelente y los precios son razonables. Consejo - Reserve temprano, ya que el restaurante es muy popular.

Mi esposa y yo fuimos a su hotel por nuestro aniversario de boda fue muy decepcionante con la comida. Mi esposa fue para rollitos de primavera como entrada salida vino un rollo de primavera por £6.95 fui para anguila y todo lo que vino con lechuga era un pedazo de pan y wheaten dos piezas de anguila. Luego nos dieron nuestro principal campo de bien estamos quiere empezar el surf and turf está destinado a ser carne y pescado de pescado en todo el filete de salmón cocinado era más estaba muy seca y para las patatas que no podía comer ya que no estaban cocidos. He toqué el hotel un par de veces para intentar hablar con alguien dijo parece que no podían ellos, ya que como siempre en una reunión jajaja. Me gustaría que alguien que me comunicaría tan pronto como pueden gracias

Alojarse en el Glenavon para una boda, y debido a las condiciones climáticas decidimos cenar en El Celler de Bar y restaurante. Excelente entorno y reminiscencias de decoración el encanto del viejo mundo. Excelente personal amable y atento, servicio rápido y las comidas se sirven bien caliente. Suspensión al bar después de la cena y fiesta. Gran ambiente y sin disminución de excelente servicio como las horas pasaban. Recomendado para cualquier cena que busquen una buena relación calidad-precio, con deliciosos platos de un excelente servicio.

Decoración significa que no hay ambiente - como comer en un café. hay una zona de salón en el hotel o una acogedora zona de estar para el almuerzo.

The food in the Cellar bar is tasty. Good menu selection, plenty of options to choose from. The steak is by far the best option as it comes with an excellent variety of sides. Service is good, staff are friendly, food is served at a speed you would want. Price is fair for what you are getting.

Beautiful food! Had a delicious three course meal! Wide range on the menu to suit all tastes and a very good early bird menu, can't wait for next time

Called one Saturday night in Sept without booking & was surprised to see how busy the restaurant was. They managed to give us a table for four. Plenty to choose from on the menu & we all ordered different dishes. All of us were really impressed with our meals & we are a fussy bunch. The starter of eels was exceptional. Prices were reasonable & service very good. Now I know why the place was so busy.

My mum and I stopped here with the children for lunch today as I had a voucher to use. The Glenavon Hotel wouldn't be my first choice of eateries in Cookstown, but I was pleasantly surprised. On offer was a very good value carvery lunch, priced for 2 or 3 courses but we didn't want anything too heavy so we ate of the light bites menu, which was quite limited in choice but grand for what we wanted - soup and a sandwich. The soup was freshly made and very tasty, the sarnies were packed with filling and very good. My mum wanted a vegetable tartlet with her soup which was actually on the carvery menu but this wasn't a problem to the very pleasant waitress who served us. The kids menu offered plenty of options and the portions were huge - great value. An additional side order of beans were brought out promptly and not added on the bill as an extra. The complimentary jug of cordial was very welcome too and our total bill for 2 adults and 2 children came to £23 which I thought was brilliant! A decent lunch at a decent price, and the hotel has a lovely, roomy feel to it - plenty of space for the kids to move about without annoying anyone!

Would definately recommend the food and great service in the Glenavon House Hotel. Excellent value for money and staff are very polite. Steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection. If you around Cookstown definately call into the Glenavon House Hotel for food or an overnight stay.

Great value for money, especially for families. Special offer, children eat free if adults have main course.

we ate in cellar bar at weekend,from the moment we arrived we were rushed even though it was only 8pm and last orders were 9.30.we explained we were waiting on 2 more to join us and twice we were asked to place an order,3 of us ordered well done fillet steaks which arrived cold almost crispy and bland with no juice or flavour,1 cod dish was brown cod and the hake dish had several bones,side orders were also bland,the whole meal was tasteless and staff seemed to rush us and want to wash up and go home,the restaurant was not busy and airconditioning was blowing cold air which was very cold we had to put our jackets on we did not complain which we really regret now, will not return also prices were expensive for quality of food

We have been here alot, food usually of good standard & staff always helpful.

Having had a good meal a few months ago we revisited the restaurant last week. This time around was extremely disappointing. Ravioli for starters was bland & flat from lack of filling. Chilli beef pasta main was more like a gravy with absolutely no chilli & my husbands steak was so tough. All of the above would not me revisit this restaurant again unfortunately.

I ate in this restaurant twice in 2 weeks due to committments in area. both times both food and service was appalling. my husband ordered a steak rare it was served to him chargrilled with soggy garlic fries uuk. He asked for his steak to be properly cooked and the server lifted the plate without saying sorry or anything. the steak came back again not cooked properly. we didnt say anything as we decided never to return. little did we know we'd be eating there again a week later but it was already booked by business friend. We went and it was the same all over again however the presentation was good but food is just not that good and the servers are so rude. won't be back a third time.

Food was very good. Good choice on menu. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Scones are really fresh and huge.

Lovely friendly bar has live music on a sunday with Bits n Piece playing.
