The Carriageway in Middlesbrough

Called in with my mum for coffee and scone last week, served delicious fruit and cheese scones, (which my Mum said was the best she’d had and with 82 years of baking and life experience can’t be a bad recommendation! ) Looking forward to calling again! Thank you

Middlesbrough Town Hall is a splendid building, serving as a theatrical venue, and this newly emerged Carriageway cafe bar does it justice, with its (at the same time) homely and sophisticated ambience: not an easy combination! I called in for a snack (coffee and a cheese scone) but there was a lot more on offer. I'm thinking the scone was one of the best I've ever tasted. Some years ago (when I was a Road Manager for a clairvoyant Medium) I arranged for an Evening Demonstration, here. Time is like a river: it flows so; when I was being taken on a 'date,' to see a Tribute to The Electric Light Orchestra,I was thinking i'd never, ever, have imagined that this would be my second visit. Having my morning snack at The Carriageway was an opportunity to take a walk down Memory Lane. I shall return!! And YOU should get yourselves there. Thoroughly recommended!
