The Canteen Bar & Kitchen in County Durham

A canteen kitchen serving food during the day. It has a micro brewery in the back which opens up a on a weekend, with some wonderful ales. A good friendly crowd, make for an enjoyable experience.

Amazing local breweries crafting traditional beers for great prices. The food there is excellent and they often have entertainment on. I love getting down there.

Friendly place , popped in a couple of times on our many jaunts round town with the Puppers 😊

We visited after Hackworth Park parkrun. What a great place... service and food excellent. It was a shame it wasn't later in the day as the on-site brewed beer looked very enticing!

Fab little place i have stopped in a few times around breakfast and lunch times the food is fab cooked to order so always nice, hot and tasty the service is friendly and both ladies working here are lovley. Massive plus, i can take the dog in with me also

Always a fantastic night, never disappointed with the food either. Lovely couple who own and run the place, they make you welcome and the service is top notch. Keep a look out for the music events, great gigs with free tickets! Also, when you book tickets they automatically reserve you a table. They offer take away bottles of their brews so a selection of beers does make a good gift pack 👍

What a nice place that wouldn't know it was there. George Samuel Brewery combined with good good and love music - what else do you need? The last Friday night of the month has become our go-to. Lovely people and dog friendly.

Steed and I had a few pints. Lovely beers as always, the Pilsner went down just right on a warm night like tonight. Friendly staff, friendly regulars, and most were outside on the benches tonight! Great little gem of a place. We're lucky to have a micro brewery on our doorstep. Try it if you can. Plus the breakfasts and daytime grub are really decent. Laura and Andrew have carved out a great little business. Be sure to visit it if you're passing 😊

Andrew & Laura have made this amazing place - great home cooked & brewery . We love going on a fri night with our little dog - who is always welcomed & made a fuss off . Both Andrew & Laura are lovely , down to earth & nothing is too much trouble . We have met some great people aswell
