The Blue Olive in Brent

Dried out meat and couldn't care less service. I have eaten at blue olive previously and it was mediocre. It the light of the good reviews we tried it again. It was very disappointing. Meat obviously cooked a while ago before served. The staff didn't care about it or infact didn't care whether we were there or not. I've never felt so unwelcome. I'm not giving blue olive another chance.

We arrived and got seated and served our starters very quickly. We were seated in an area where there was a large party just finishing their celebration. We finished our starters as they were leaving. I could see our waiter outside on the pavement smoking, so we waited and waited and eventually another waiter came and cleared our table. Sometime later our main course arrived, at the sane time several staff were clearing from the large party. Tables and chairs being dragged across the floor , and clean plates and cutlery being plonked on the tables. It was like eating in a warehouse ! The food was nicely cooked but I couldn't finish due to the noise and total lack of consideration for us as customers. When the waiter came to clear our table, we told how how we felt. He didn't apologise, just said they have to prepare for the next customers. They had forgotten to look after the two of us ! The boss was at the the desk but never even acknowledge us. Won't be going back!!

Service was not efficient from the beginning.. unprofessional and pretty relaxed. We were encouraged to have one meze per person although we had 4 children in our booking this set us back £336 bill in the end with drinks minus dessert. You could imagine the shock especially as we took most of the food home with us. Overall not worth the money.. food was average and service was not up to standard compared to the money we paid. Oh and service was apparently not included 🤣 are you kidding me!

I must say It was a fantastic evening out we had 4 mezes between us and the food was excellenti. Fantastic friendly staff as well.

Delicious food. Hot and fresh ingredients. Great vegetarian selection too.!The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough. The blonde lady in particular was an absolute treasure. Thank you. Be back soon.

DISGRACEFUL SERVICE MYSELF & my family went for a meal on Easter Sunday 2023, served by a hostile waiter who blatantly LIED to us regarding the content of our meal …we ordered a large sheftalia however, we received a regular ..this awful waiter argued with us that we had indeed received a large meal …we have been customers for years & have never been made to feel so uncomfortable & in the wrong as we were tonight. Eventually another waiter came to our table & tried to diffuse the situation but unfortunately this only added fuel to the fire as we didn’t even receive an apology , or asked if we would like a free drink etc..as a gesture of good will (even though he admitted the other waiter was in the wrong) My husband did not wish to cause a scene!, however I would have done if it hadn’t been for him. We left paying the bill in full (more fool us)! Did not pay service charge however. Will NOT be returning to the blue olive again & will be sure to let people know of the DISGRACEFUL SERVICE.

Portions are very small, everything is priced separately, and when receipt came it was not itemised. Essentially you could not see what you were charged for! Also staff were not very professional … clearly just interested in quick profit. Will never ever visit again!

Came for family celebration, online menu quoted £28.50, phoned to double check still insisted it was £28.50. We booked on the strength of that because greek meze can be costly these days. Arrived there meze quoted £32.95 and that's what we were charged so they basically lied to my face. Liberty ! noticed other people saying the same thing on reviews..bloody robbers..

We used to come here as a family when my kids were small so this was a bit of a nostalgia trip for my son's birthday with some of his mates. I was a bit worried by some of the recent reviews which were not great but it was a really fun evening. Waiters were friendly and efficient, food was tasty.

Only a handful of people in the restaurant which should have warned us. Not been before, so decided to give it a go as place opposite was fully booked. Just wish I’d read the reviews before, as completely agree with the previous takeaway feedback. Although you’d like to think, as it’s brought straight from the kitchen, it would be a bit fresher, it wasn't. My friend couldn’t eat her chicken as it was so dry, and had to take a mouthful of water with each piece to help it go down. The kebabs just came with salad, which is mostly chopped iceberg lettuce and no dressing except a sprinkling of dried herbs, so we ordered rice and grilled vegetables. The rice looked like it had been cooked in a tin of tomatoes with some peas thrown in, no seasoning, no flavour. The grilled vegetables were quite something else. A side plate, of what looked like, semi cremated onions with a few shrivelled mushrooms and couple of slices of courgette, just a shame I didn’t take a photo! Honestly, everything was very basic, poorly cooked, seriously lacking in flavour and a complete waste of money. Spoke to waitress, she was absolutely lovely btw, and she spoke with the ‘chef’ (being used in the loosest sense of the word) who disagreed with the feedback of his chicken & vegetable cooking, but nonetheless, agreed to charge us for a small kebab, as my friend had attempted to eat some, and to take the veggies off the bill. Safe to say, it’s one of the worst meals we’ve had and we won’t be going back.

Everything was over priced. The prices you see on the menu is not the prices charged. Disappointed to see over charged bill. When complained to the owner he had so many excuses. Never will visit and never will recommend.

It’s a real shame that I have to review this. We ordered a take-a-way. Straight to the point. The food was so dry and had very little flavour. That’s all. Would avoid get the a take-a-way from here.

Service was ok and food was nice. Big menu choice and reasonably priced. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because a waiter came over and leaned over us to clear an empty plate while we were still eating - that’s a pet hate of mine! We would return.

Without doubt the worst service I have experienced at a restaurant. I had booked a table for my mum and I to celebrate mother's day at The Blue Olive two weeks in advance. Upon arrival, we were completely ignored and left to stand around waiting to take our seat. A waiter and waitress then came towards us but proceeded to have a conversation, without acknowledging our presence at all. When the waiter finally decided to speak to us there was no welcome - he just pointed to a clipboard and highlighted our name. We were then told to take a seat next to the front door. My elderly mother then asked if we could sit further in to the (half full) restaurant so that she did not have to feel the cold each time the door was opened. The waiter said 'no' and explained that there were no tables for four that were not situated right next to the front door. I could see one unoccupied table for 4 out of the way of the door and I doubt this was the only one. We then asked again and he said 'no' and began talking to the people queuing behind us. We informed the waiter that we would find somewhere elseto eat, to which he simply nodded and dismissed us. Having worked in and the managed restaurants for years, I am shocked and disgusted at this level of customer service. Even if the place is busy, it should in no way give your waiting staff an excuse to behave in such an unprofessional and disrespectful way. I was left having to walk my elderly, partially sighted mum back in the cold and rain to the car - which we had just paid a fiver to park too!cI encourage everyone to steer clear of this unusually uninviting establishment. Disgraceful.
