The Bannville Hotel in Banbridge

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night with a group of 24 people. We had been in Belfast for the evening and wanted to stay somewhere on the way down south that had space to park a bus. The rooms are so spacious, comfortable beds, lovely breakfast included and it was so great to walk around the lovely grounds of the hotel in the morning. I will definitely be back.

Food in the restaurant is really good value. Quite a good selection, and staff/kitchen were happy to swap some side dishes for other preferred ones, eg mash instead of chips etc.

Excellent place for a meal. We had the steak sandwich with chips, onion rings, and peppercorn sauce. Locally sourced steaks, we know the place where steaks are sourced. Will return soo, nice friendly service, steak cooked just how we wanted it, excellent.

Just had a meal with the family and would like to say how much we enjoyed it. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and the service was great. Will definitely be back.

Just home after a lovely date night meal 2 main courses 2 drinks for £30. couldn't fault it really nice and friendly staff won't be long until we're back x

Sickening. When we got in our room, I noticed they had painted over mushrooms and the furniture was chipped. The bedroom looked clean though. The bathroom was a disaster. Above the shower, there looked to be a large water leak, and the shower was mounted improperly. The tiles looked like they will fall off and weren't clean. The worst part was behind the bed, they put up wallpaper to cover up something. I could see from the side that the wallpaper was peeling and white stuff was on the bottom. I couldn't sleep because my nose kept blocking up. As soon as I left to go outdoors the next day my nose felt much better. Service was as expected and the location was good as I needed to go to Portadown.

Wheelchair friendly, great food, fantastic staff... well worth a visit for lunch!

Family lunch. Good food and good service

I got the afternoon tea and it was very poor for the price , a couple of sandwiches, 2 scones and most of the tray bakes were Rice Krispie buns, as for the building - paint peeling off the walls , will never be back.

We went there just for birthday dinner. Couple menu for about 50 pounds- thats ok. starter soup was great. Steak was poor quality. Desserts was awefull. Mint cheescake taste like mint soap bar... But that was still nothing... Service is absolutely nightmare. 3 or 4 waiters the same time with no communication between them... Finally we had to ask again and wait for desserts another 20 minutes.... For me - no more...

Food was mediocre cold mushy peas and overdone greasy batter on fish curry was out of a jar nothing in here seems freshly made

IT TOOK 1 HOUR TO GET OUR FOOD AND 20 MINUTES TO ORDER. IT WAS LIKE THEY THOUGHT WE WERE INVISIBLE AND THE CHIPS WERE SOFT. The food was still pretty good though. The staff looked like they didn't want to be there and they looked like they couldn't be bothered

Absolutely horrible, unfriendly place ! No manners whatsoever. Avoid !

Called in today for lunch with my wife. Really tasty food and reasonably priced, very impressed. Will return soon!

The best staff and always good food/drinks

Guys, if your visiting northern Ireland then pop over to Banbridge and visit The Bannville Hotel. The rooms are amazing, but guys, the food is unreal, top marks to the chefs and staff members. Had the Bannville Steak Burger 🍔 with chunky chips and hot sauce 😋 yummy. Highly Recommend guys truly Magnificent.

It was ok for what I wanted. Just a quick stop over to attend a event in the area. Décor definitely outdated but the service was decent. Resident bar very small so a good thing it was not mad busy

Steak deal .. brilliant and value for money. 2 starters 2 steak dinners with pepper sauce. 2 drinks. £62

Went for a meal with some friends and it was enjoyable. Service excellent everyone was friendly and helpful. Great as we had 4 vegetarians who had no issues at all. Food was very enjoyable, no complaints, not fine dining but good. Only 4 stars as the place is a bit dated. All looked clean and in good order, just a bit dated. Grounds, however, are beautiful.

The Sunday carvery is very good. Also can take away. Staff and food is very good. Never had a bad experience at the Banville.

We stayed in one of the glamping pods, absolutely amazing experience to get away, even for one night. We were pleasantly treated when we checked it, we were well looked after if we needed anything. Service at dinner was amazing, very polite and professional. The dinner was absolutely gorgeous, tasty dinner. The pod itself was beautiful inside, can't exaggerate how massive the bed was. We had tv, wifi, fridge, mini oven and heating of course. Access to your own private hot tub beside the pod, it was amazing to chillax. Definitely recommend and definitely would be back!

The hotel is OK however it's a little tired. With a little investment it would be a stunning place..

23 people booked in for 3 nights. was advised pods were available so we booked 3 pods. at no point was it communicated that the hot tubs were not included. We asked how much to be added on (willing to pay the extra) to be told it takes 24 hours to fill again I agreed and said this was OK to then to told its not possible because the filters need changed. we have been waiting for rooms since 11.30 knowing we would be arriving early no rooms available for a quick change not even 1 room. around 1.30 a bus load of people arrived to check in and got their rooms quickly while our 23 people are still waiting for their rooms. it is now 20 past 3 (check in from 3pm) we are still waiting on rooms being available. This is totally unacceptable. We have never been treated this is before anywhere!

Was on a coach trip to Wicklow with Giles Tours...fantastic driver Josh, stopped at this hotel for evening dinner which was traditional and excellent

Went here as part of a coach trip tonight. I had to wait long after the others were served and when my meal came the portion was absolutely miserable compared to the others. The dessert was a tiny square of cheesecake. Not happy and very poor.

Filthy place from top to bottom, even more so with their recent choice of events. Would never visit again.

Thought this was a family friendly place! Naked men everywhere!

Never again service non existing

Waited almost 2 hours for our meal. Manager apologized as she'd not entered it into the tablet properly. The manager/server wouldn't even look at us when she finally brought our meals. I'd asked for two of our drinks (a round to be comp'd) this was agreed to. When the bill came drinks were still included. When we finally our meal as we started eating the DJ from the bar started blaring. This wasn't exactly a relaxing atmosphere. I went to close the door so we could hear ourselves think and staff repeatedly opened it (we were the last in the dinning hall). My friend lives in the area and wants to go back as it's close. The service was so bad I'd not even go if my meal was paid for. This visit has set the bar for my all time worst meal out. That being said the food was quite good and the cocktails were excellent.

Very comfortable room! Shower could be a bit more spacious. Breakfast was delicious and employees very kind.

Great lunch & service & good price

Room was brilliant to be fair can't fault it service was the same. Room very spacious and clean eith great views. Service was fab any issue we had was delt with. Looks like work is being done as seen wooden camping huts 🛖 there so looks like it's expanding its field. Location was OK if your local or drive 🚗 but as we were only there for a few days we were a little far out from Belfast for our liking. If you want a quiet 🤫 place to stay to relax thus is a great place to go.

Edit: 1st post This is a great place to eat. We have been a few times and the portions (at least what I got) where big. The staff are really friendly and willing to help. I haven't stayed here but judging by the food and service I would. I would not recommend here, the place has went down hill. This is our second bad experience. We where the only ones there and for some reason the TV got more attention as there was no volume on it. We didn't even ask for the TV to be on. I got dessert and between 5-10min I had to leave it as I think they expected me to eat it with my hands. The dinner wasn't great. My rice tasted as though it had been reheated in the microwave. Now I have to say the girl at reception was lovely and really helpful. She made sure I got somewhere comfortable to breastfed my son. She also took my dessert of the bill.

Thank you to Lynn and all the staff at The Banville Hotel for providing us with their function room recently for our charity night of music. We had a great evening to raise funds for The Paul Russell Foundation in memory of our son Paul. X

The hotel is out of date, the family and i went for a dinner and it took them a hour to even bring the food out and the team is not nice at all. Definitely don't recommend

Called in for Sunday lunch which turned out to be a carvery with a selection of roast meats with all the trimmings and it was excellent! The staff were very helpful and friendly couldn't ask for anything more.

Can't put review on rooms as didn't use them but when I Was there i used the toilets which weren't very clean and floor wet from leaking toilet also in main room floors not very clean my feet were sticking to the floor but on a plus the staff were very friendly and the food was nice

Sunday lunch. Good food and plenty of it if that's what you like!

I know this place well, the staff are friendly and helpful. I gave it 3 stars because the food can be a bit ' hit and miss'. Sometimes I go and the food you couldn't fault it, it's brilliant, but other times it's not. But they are improving the place with redecorating etc, but I would like the food to be consistently good.

Went here for dinner sat 17th feb, they had a valentines theme dining room and there was music setting up. The service was terrible. We were seated pretty quick but took 35mins for anyone to take our order. The food was superb but the wait in between courses was far to long. In the end we decided against dessert as we didn't want to wait.

Called in for lunch after golf. Food was excellent and great service. Highly recommended.

The hotel is very nice, the staff is very kind and courteous, the room and the bathroom of the room are very nice and spacious, the location of the hotel is also ideal... The only problem is the most important thing, are the hygiene and cleanliness of the room I stayed in, for the price paid and the type of hotel, the room is really dirty (bed sheets and pillow covers were stained, with yellow stains of various sizes and shades and the pillows bed smelled bad) then there were huge cobwebs on the ceiling of the room, also all the furniture in the room, a table, the two bedside tables and everything else were full of dust (we had to clean everything with damp handkerchiefs, which immediately became black) even the kettle that was in the room, the bottom was completely covered with a yellow gelatinous layer, which had certainly never been cleaned! But the hotel staff was super nice and replaced it with a new one. In the end, if the hotel improves the cleanliness of the rooms, when the bed sheets remain stained, it replaces them with new ones, I would recommend the this hotel, but for now if it remains in these conditions, I do not recommend it to anyone!

Stopped in for lunch. Good menu choice. Had SF chicken burger and wife had chicken foccacia. Food was excellent, generous portions, pleasant staff and reasonably priced. Will definitely return

Got got my eyes open drunkin kids coming out of the club door staff pushing kids 16/17 years old .and going to the toilet in the carpark .not something you want to be seeing .I was just disappointed and disgusted 😒
