Didn't stay, but great local pub. Great banter, decent beers and while we didn't eat, food smelt lovely!

The hotel is not overlooking the harbour but only a short walk away. We booked a twin room based on the lovely pictures on the website and really looked forward to a treat. When we arrived we were taken past an entrance which looked like nice accommodation with an attractive hallway. Unfortunately we were taken to a second doorway and what looked like ‘overflow’ accommodation (I think room 18) There was no hallway here just a winding stairwell that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, our room was at the top in the attic. Windows were old painted, rotted and appeared dangerous, the furniture dated, room dark and the twin beds short and narrow. The room had been newly painted and carpet cheap and threadbare. On the whole accommodation was very poor and not worth the money £130 per night. We were told the room next to ours could be used as a common room but looked and smelled more like a smoking area. Either this place was used to house homeless people or transient staff. I was asked by the hotel to leave a review on their site which needless to say they didn’t publish. I think it’s important though to be truthful so people aren’t ripped off and know what to expect.

It is a lovely place to visit and great service

This was my second stay here and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the staff, service and food. I'm coeliac and therefore finding places that offer GOOD quality gf food can be hit and miss, this place takes it seriously and the battered gf fish and chips they offer is *chefs kiss* delicious. Secondly due to an issue with my car I was stuck waiting for the AA not far from The Bank and they were kind enough to have their staff arrange to bring my dinner out to me in my car where I had to wait for the AA to arrive. Excellent service and so accommodating - would highly recommend!

A group of us went here for an evening meal. The location is good with views out to sea from the dining room. Service and Staff were brilliant. Prices quite good. Food excellent particularly the Sea Bass.

Smart pub, great beer garden, a must visit if you’re in Anstruther.

Hotel with Pub. Excellent for exploring Fife. Staff 5* plus. Great breakfast. Parking 3 mins away but proved fine.

We are extremely disappointed with our experience at The Bank. Our room was so poorly cleaned; we arrived to find dirty mugs/spoons on the dresser, hair on the toilet seat, dirty bathtub and sink. Bed was so uncomfortable that neither of us were able to get much sleep on both nights. The pub/restaurant service was equally disappointing - staff were unfriendly and food was subpar. We’ve tried to pass on the feedback constructively both during our stay and after the fact, but it is clear they are not receptive to any criticism. I would avoid this place entirely.

Great hotel in the center of this small village. My room was excellent and large! Also recently renovated. The bar downstairs can be very busy, causing some noise pollution. But also very pleasant. Breakfast is excellent, a la carte menu for all dishes and a buffet for fruit and cereals. We came to play golf for three days and the hotel is twenty minutes from St Andrews. The village also has a nice harbor and a delicious fish and chips restaurant around the corner from the hotel.

The rooms are nicely decorated, clean & very spacious. The hotel used to be a bank and is situated smack bang in the middle of the village !!! The staff, atmosphere & food are excellent. The bar equipped with a pool table and "a safe" has a very friendly vibe with bar staff to match. The Bank Hotel is 10/15 drive from most of the golf courses.

We were in for food. Very helpful staff and great choice on the menu. I had the fish and chips and it was lovely.

Room completely renovated, very nice, extremely tasteful and functional. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We had to change hotels at short notice in the evening and were lucky to find 2 rooms here. Out of season also at a very good price. Breakfast included. Cars could be parked in front of the door or there was also a parking space around the corner. In the evening there was a restaurant and bar downstairs.

We came for a family lunch which was delicious, the service is always good and the location of The Bank is amazing. We visit every time we are in Anstruther. We visited the next day for breakfast which was a bit of a let down, the eggs were really dry and some of the other items a bit cold but otherwise fine. Its also dog friendly too and during the summer the beer garden is a sun trap and they have amazing cocktails 😍

Great hotel for a visit to St. Andrew's and area.

This was undoubtedly the most uninviting staff I've experienced, and I'm quite unfussy. Spent time here for breakfast recently, staff were ignorant and openly rude to my family. My advice go anywhere else, it's not a pleasant experience.

Fabulous Hotel, great staff, welcoming. Great food, will visit again.
