Adel is a legend. He cooks a fine dinner and is a marvellous host. Great menu of Mediterranean - Franco-Egyptian - and classic bistro cuisine. Hospitality and entertainment in abundance.

We booked the whole restaurant for a school reunion Sunday lunch with school mates I've known for over 50 years. In all that time we have never been to anywhere quite like the Alchemist! It's small but perfectly formed, just like its owner, Adel who is the best of hosts. We opted for the Arabian Nights Feast option and the food was exquisite with many different courses that satisfied the carnivores and the vegetarians alike. Lots of subtle and light tastes and full flavours. I also had a roast lamb shank for dinner here on New Year's Eve and that did not disappoint either. Honestly, if you enjoy conversation, good food and a host that is fizzing with enthusiasm for his food and his guests, you should book here as soon as you can.

Myself and my partner ate here last night. We had being meaning to give it a try for quite some time and were not disappointed in anyway. The owner Adel is the perfect host as goes above and beyond in every respect for his customers. It soon became clear that he knows what he's doing when it comes to running a resturant in every respect. The food is so reasonably priced and the portion sizes more than generous. Don't think that this distracts from quality in anyway as it most certainly doesn't. We have never been given so many choices in the ways specials and dishes could be cooked and nothing seems like to much trouble . All the food was fresh and delicious and made with love and with prices that will not be beaten anywhere. I really could go on and on but I recommend you just try the place yourself, you will not be disappointed. We will most certainly be back and advising as many friends and family as possible to give this little gem a try. Thank you do much for a wonderful evening Adel 😀

We came here for the first time, and will definitely be returning. We were made very welcome, and the food was really good. We had quite simple starters, smoked mackerel pate and a mixed plate of charcuterie. Both were delicious (& very plentiful). For main we had sea bass and chicken cous cous. Again, good ingredients, beautifully cooked. It’s a small place, with just a few tables, so I would recommend booking just in case. It’s a bring your own alcohol restaurant, which I actually quite like. There is an off-licence just next door if you forget. Prices are very reasonable.
