Thai Tho in Merton

Had the misfortune to order a takeaway from Thai Tho for my family. The food was just awful. I ordered a chicken massaman curry, see pick attached. The sauce looked like it had spilt out on the way over. Standard of food was unacceptable. To make things worse the delivery driver did another drop on the way to ours, so by the time we received it the food was cold. Will not order again from here!

Staff were really lovely and food was well priced and tasty :) would visit again. I had the chicken cashew curry

This is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to; the food is fantastic we had the Kung Pad Khing & the Kung Chom Suan with Aromatic Duck and Pawns on toast to start. The place was busy (you need to book) but the staff where very friendly and the service was exceptional. Really looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I have been coming here for 20 years. This evening we went out to celebrate my wife's birthday; unfortunately being served a hot curry when the menu said mild did not contribute to our day. No reduction in price offered. No tip left.

Please don’t eat at this place, the food is terrible, they cook the Pad Thai with ketchup, the worst idea ever, also they do not post the real ingredients on internet or Deliveroo, the food standards agency should visit them and review the information that they post on internet about their dishes.

We had high hopes of a nice meal as the decor was nicely done. The staff were a bit clueless, our particular server was struggling to understand the request for a ‘bottle of still water’, and was not ready to work with customers yet. The starters that stood out as tasty were the fish cakes and som tom salad. However, the mains were a Huge letdown and I hate wasting food. The steamed sea bass tasted very fishy and was over cooked and bland, needed more flavour and freshness rather than the limp and tasteless vegetable garnish on top. The side dish of vegetables were over cooked and bland, the reason some people get turned off veg. The chicken curry was just okay but we had lost our appetite at that point. We eat Thai out regularly and this should have been better. I usually bring our leftovers home but no one was going to eat this when it started out as subpar. I feel when we told management about the issues they didn’t believe us but gave us 10% off. We didn’t want token discounts, we want tasty and freshly prepared food that doesn’t come out so quickly. They should consider tasting their food and make recipe and ingredient adjustments.

I had lunch here whilst on a visit to wimbledon. The tom yum goong and vege curry I ordered were tasty. Service was good too and the place is nicely decorated. A good choice for thai food in wimbledon

This is normally my favourite Thai as the food is normally amazing & the service is also normally very good. However on Valentine’s Day the food & service was very rushed & it was pretty obvious some items had been pre cooked as the chicken satay was literally put on the table 2 minutes after ordering our starters both arrived within 2-minutes & it was clear they were not cooked fresh & wasn’t upto the normal standards all food arrived quickly & it was very clear it was all a rush to get the next couples in we were in & out within around 40 minutes the service & food was not upto the usual high standard & all very rushed

Wimbledon Village is not short of the odd Thai or two. Patara and Giggling Squid are situated within the toss of a prawn cracker from each other and Thai Tho. But unlike one of the other two it benefited from actually being open this first Tuesday lunchtime of the New Year. As this is Wimbledon there are signed photographs of tennis stars amongst the usual Thai decorations. The set menu is good value. We ordered starters of mushroom and chicken soup, chicken satay and spring rolls followed by a chicken stir fry, special fried rice and a prawn pad Thai. Thai Tho is popular with the local Asian community if the conversations from adjoining tables were anything to go by. There is a new smaller branch in Ram Quarter Wandsworth.

Wandered along Wimbledon High Street on a quiet Monday evening, Thai Tho looked appealing from the outside. Excellent meal, great surroundiongs, very friendly service, Would highly recommend.

Great little spot for reliable and good Thai food, lovely service, decent wine and as a chatty group we did not feel hurried away ! thank you x

Went with my friend lunch time and the food was amazing and such good value and variety. Being coeliac can m@ke it difficult to eat out. No such issue here. Oh my goodness the staff are amazing too. ☺️ Thank you so much 😊

Been some time I visited this restaurant but still excellent quality food served by very friendly staff. One of the few restaurants in Wimbledon (or London for that matter) which seems to have an acceptable noise level! The problem with a lot of the London restaurants is that they don't do anything to make their interior a bit sound dampening and they cram too many tables in too small a space = usually impossible to have a quiet conversation. Keep up the good work Thai Tho.

We went to Thai Tho after we couldn’t get into our first choice Thai restaurant in Wimbledon village, I wasn’t expecting Jai Fai in the kitchen so my expectations weren’t exactly high. The meal started off well, warm & attentive front of house staff, starters of Moo Ping, dumplings & squid were pretty good. We then ordered pad gra prow & fried rice both of which are usually served with a fried egg on top, we asked the waitress if this was possible & she said it was OK but we would have to pay for the egg which was not a problem. Unfortunately the wok jockey in the kitchen didn’t think so as he was too busy, granted it was a Friday night but not super busy. We then decided to play is safe and go for the backpacker favourites red curry & pad thai, unfortunately the kitchen couldn’t get these right & both dishes were left half eaten. I don’t understand why so many Thai restaurants insist on serving up the same generic Thai dishes, come on I’m sure if your served up Khao Soi it would fly out of the kitchen, assuming the chef could be bothered to cook it.

I visited on a quiet Monday night with some friends I hadn't seen for a while. We had a very warm welcome and ordered our wine saying we weren't ready to order food yet as we had a lot of catching up to do! They were more than happy to let us enjoy our drinks without rushing. We ordered a selection of starters which were all good, particularly the dumplings. The mains portions were all generous sizes and we enjoyed our meal and evening. I'll definitely go back again

We love this restaurant... nice location and great lunch options. We tried dinner before too after watching a musical and was also good. If you want a lunch treat--- well worth it... ;)

We were really disappointed with the food from the Thai Tho Wimbledon. We did see on Trip advisor the reviews were more mixed, but we thought we would try it nevertheless and ordered via Deliveroo.The sticky rice portion was tiny and the texture was terrible as it had been heated far too much in the microwave. We have had sticky rice from a number of different restaurants and this was the worst we have ever experienced.All the main meals had been put into Tupperware tubs and appear to have been microwaved. I am not sure how much wok/pan cooking occurred ahead of this, but the onions and peppers were uncooked and the prawns in particular were distorted and rubbery as they, again, looked like they had been put in a microwave for too long.The chicken was of good quality which was reassuring but overall seeing as the meals came around 10 mins from ordering, one can only assume that dishes had been prepared in the morning (with not much wok cooking) and then when orders come in in the evening someone just pops the pre-prepared tubs in the microwave ready for the customer.Our cost almost £50.00 and this is what I would expect from a really low budget outfit as opposed to one of high quality. We did not eat much of the meal in the end and it was very sad to see food going to waste. It was also very upsetting as this was to be a 'push the boat out treat' and it ended up being a terrible experience.I fear that since lockdown/ restrictions the restaurant has taken advantage of the fact there are no physical customers and so their standards have slipped. We contacted Deliveroo to complain but they said this was out of their hands.From a very disappointed customer.

Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos, no pudimos criticar a este restaurante por su servicio al cliente y su atención al control de infecciones. Lo que observamos fue más allá de lo que el gobierno pide a los bares y restaurantes. Soy enfermera y realmente califico a las empresas por su limpieza. Como siempre, la comida es absolutamente fantástica y el personal del restaurante fue muy acogedor. Estábamos tan emocionados de estar de regreso después de un largo bloqueo. Espero volver pronto.

Authentic, light Thai in the village. Comfortable and atmospheric place to eat, and great service. Recommend.

The set lunch menu is very tasty and great value for money! Opted for the mixed starter and sweet and sour chicken which didn’t disappoint. Look forward to returning soon.

We called here without making a reservation quite late on in the evening, which was no problem for the host who was glad to see us. The menu is extensive and well priced. My wife had Mussel Spaghetti and I went for the Flat Iron Steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and the Béarnaise sauce was to die for. The hostess was attentive and even surprised us with some free brownies to take away as they were past their sell by the next day, these were homemade and delicious. I would highly recommend a visit here.

The lunch menu is great value, but do add the prawncrackers. I particularly enjoy the curries and their stirfry. Their asian beers are fresh tasty and always perfectly cold.

El personal fue INCREÍBLEMENTE amable con nuestra familia de cuatro (dos niños pequeños) y muy atento a las solicitudes especiales para la comida de los niños. ¡Entramos durante un ajetreado cena de los viernes por la noche y el personal no dio un vuelco! ¡Atención constante para mantener nuestras bebidas llenas y la comida caliente! Definitivamente volveremos, y pediremos que nos lleven!

Personal amable pero no volveremos. Teníamos el pato crujiente y yo tenía la boca llena de cabello humano. Deja eso a la mala suerte. Luego tuvo otro bocado de cabello. Sin excusas. Me quitó la comida y no comí nada más después de eso. El esposo no encontró cabello pero fue cauteloso después de mi experiencia. El personal es encantador y eficiente, pero ¡qué asco!

Definitely the best thai food around. Staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. Avoid the swanky thai down the road and go to Thai Tho - you won't regret it.

We went with friends who have a mutual love of Thai cuisine. It is a visually attractive restaurant. Great choice on the menu. The food was fresh and delicious.

I have visited this restaurant 3 times previously and always enjoyed the food, especially the lunch specials. I have found the food very tasty, compliments to the chef.I had not been for a year on this visit I felt the place had gone down hill, much more shabby inside with very poor service. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the servers. They got the order wrong, when we mentioned it, the response was ‘It’s my fault’?! I did suggest if they were not writing it down perhaps a recap of the order would help. Several mess ups, no point going into it but if you add 12.5% tip, I am happy to honour the service in this way if I received good service.So when the bill came with added service it was £50.18 I left £50 cash but they came back to ask me for the 18p! Time for some feedback which was not well received and when I gave them 20p I asked for 2p change. I certainly hope that the service added was given to the chef as that is the only person who deserved it.

We haven’t eaten a Thai meal for a long time. Finding ourselves in Wimbledon we decided to give this place a try and we’re glad we did!

Suitable for lunch restaurant, food average, nothing special, prices suitable, I would not recommend for children, not enough space for comfortable seating, coffee was not good. Service not special, the portion very small

One of my favourite restaurants in Wimbledon. Authentic Thai food, good choice of wine, nice atmosphere. Not the cheapest Thai you'll ever have but it's nice for an evening out.

We ate here when staying nearby for the tennis. The food was not good all and the portion size very small - we actually left hungry!!! We were very rushed, in fact from entering the restaurant to leaving, it took about 20 minutes!! So much for a nice relaxed meal.

My 6 year old son and I visited during Wimbledon tennis. This restaurant is amazing. The food, service and atmosphere was all fabulous. We had the duck pancakes and there was so so much duck. The staff are so friendly and made us so welcome. My son said it was "the best Thai ever" and I agree. We can't wait to go back.

I was very lucky to get a table during the Wimbledon tennis weeks. The staff were excellent, very friendly and although the restaurant was packed the service was very quick. It is a family run business and because of this the staff all care about serving you and are very attentive. The food was excellent. If you like Thai food then this is the place for you. Food is very reasonably priced BUT a small bottle of Coke is £3.95 which I think is expensive.

As a journalist, travelling and tasting Thai food all around the world the food I have eaten there was the best in London. I've just been there yesterday and atmosphere and food was incredible. You cannot miss it if you come to Wimbledon for the tournament and not to go there. Delicious and fresh food and friendly atmosphere. I felt like I was in Thailand. The owner Nicky is the most friendly person. I have spoken to her and she explained how enthusiastic she is about using fresh ingredients and cooking the best meal for 25 years.

I often go to this restaurant because it is simply fab nut there is something extra special about it at this time of the year when the tennis is in full flow. Apart from the great food (Duck with tamarind sauce is one of my favourites) and the staff who are very patient, despite the queues outside trying to come in, you never know who will be sitting at the next table.

For what was likely one of their busiest nights in their year they still served up excellent food that was well presented and fresh. Very impressed given how busy they are.

Such a great evening here this week, bustling and buzzy and the food was fantastic - fresh ingredients, lots of flavour and great service, especially considering how busy it was. Also best place in Wimbledon to spot the tennis players, if it’s good enough for Serena..! Can’t wait to go again! Must have dish is the crispy duck with unlimited pancakes..

I love tennis, so Wimbledon, I’m here again. Love the Village and love Thai Tho. Other Thai restaurants are around but this has always been the best. Great food, friendly staff, brilliant with the children who we were with. They have got it just right. Not surprised that they have been here 24 years! Always a highlight of my trips and a few famous faces in there as well.

The food is fabulous here. The green curry is the best I’ve tasted anywhere! The surroundings are beautiful and there’s always a real buzz about the place. The service from the Thai staff is excellent- nothing is too much trouble. Hoping to make a return visit during the tennis if we can get a table. One time we saw Chris Evert, Maria Schriver and Sue Barker - was so exciting!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by their express lunch menu (£10.95) which was so delicious! I had the egg fried rice with the red Thai chicken curry and the mixed starter. Their prawn panang curry was also amazing! Definitely recommend :-)

Had online reservations for 6:00pm dinner, but did not need it as no one else was in at that time. Food was decent, although I think £3.25 for a bowl of steamed rice is a bit high. I had Kuoy Tiaw Pad Kee Mao (like a Pad Thai) and it was just the right amount of spicy. I was going to order something similar, but the server suggested this and it was a good choice. Service was ok – had to wave at staff at the end to get the bill. Asked for water with ice and it had 3 little cubes. Nice atmosphere with plenty of space. I would go back but not expecting a 4-star experience

Llegamos sin reservación hacia el final del almuerzo del domingo y el personal fue muy amable y servicial de parte de nosotros en un grupo más grande con un bebé. En general, el servicio fue muy amable y servicial, y nuestra comida llegó rápido. La comida era muy buena, bien cocinada y especiada. Me gustó especialmente el entrante de pinchos de cerdo y el curry de panang, el salteado de pato y la almohadilla Los platos principales tailandeses también eran muy agradables. La almohadilla tailandesa era sabrosa pero no demasiado dulce como suele ser el caso en los restaurantes tailandeses del Reino Unido. Los postres también eran buenos, el restaurante tiene una buena variedad de postres y sabores de helados, incluyendo algunos inusuales (¡el durian y el taro son particularmente interesantes!). En general, tuvimos una muy buena experiencia y definitivamente recomendaría este lugar!

I expected better but the food was just okay with small portions. I eat Thai food quite often so perhaps I have high expectations/standards. The service is nothing special and their selection of desserts is disappointing. Won’t be going back there again.

The food here is very good, much better than two other Thai pretenders in the same street. My duck curry was amazing: plentiful tender duck pieces served in a delicious, fragrant sauce. My husband really enjoyed all his food choices, too.

Had lunch here this week with a couple of friends. Everything was delicious. The chicken satay was melt-in-the-mouth. Spring rolls were crunchy and fresh and the pad thai was superb. Coconut ice-cream in a coconut shell rounded the meal off. With soft drinks our bill came to £22 each - very reasonable indeed.

What a lovely meal. Such a nice restaurant and the staff are so kind and attentive. The food was great, lovely wine list. Particularly loved the tofu salad but all of it was fresh and tasty; and reasonably priced. Even though it was busy the staff were super lovely and attentive and we had a brilliant Friday night catch up. Would thoroughly recommend. I will be back!

Restaurante confortable, buen servicio. Platos del molino pero muy sabrosos y agradables. Sirvió el tipo de comida que nadie encontraría difícil. Bastante inteligente no casual. Para complacer a la multitud, puedes tomar un grupo de diez personas y todo el mundo puede moler un plato para adaptarse. O puede intentar impresionar a una nueva novia con su conocimiento de la comida tailandesa solo para descubrir que ella vivió allí durante tres años. Lo disfrutamos, no grasienta y sabrosa.

Wimbledon Village has since my last visit became a haven for Thai food. There are newcomers and there is Thai Tho. I have been many times, love the satay, large prawns in Tamarind sauce, green curry, and an excellent selection of desserts. My suggestion would be Thai pancakes with ice cream. All delicious and I suspect why people keep returning. Friendly staff as well.

There was nothing in the meal we had that was wrong, poorly cooked, badly presented, it was just … well ordinary and rather unexciting. The mixed starter for 3 people at £22 was expensive but the mains of chicken curry, stir fried chicken with lemon grass and stir fried beef with cashew nuts and spring onions were fine and priced at £10/11 each. With a large glass of shiraz, sparkling water and two cokes, we were £95. This included a mandatory 12.5% service charge which I hate. I would rather be the decision maker on tipping and I would have left less on this occasion. I won't be back.

Visited Thai Tho for a working lunch. The restaurant was very busy for a Monday afternoon. Had a nice quiet table at the back of the restaurant for our meeting, followed by lunch. The food was fantastic ! Such delicious flavours and definitely my favourite Thai restaurant. The staff were very good and just the right amount of attention during our meeting and great service over lunch. Thank you Thai Tho I will definitely be back

Service was initially slow (i.e. to take our order and get us drinks) but once we were served everything arrived swiftly and with a smile. Staff were lovely, food was decent. Traditional Thai menu I'd say.

My wife and I went for lunch on 22nd August 2018 and had to send both our meals back. The chicken served to us was so tough. A neighbouring diner was clearly not enjoying her lunch either. My replacement beef curry was okay but my wife’s replacement beef noodle dish was disappointing. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but I will not be returning.

I’ve been a regular visitor to Thai Tho and have always raved about it but the last two visits have been poor. I’m not sure if they have changed chefs or staff but based on my last experience I think it will be a very long time before I will go back again.

If you’re looking for delicious Thai food stop right here! This place is amazing! With friendly staff to exquisite food you will have a fantastic meal. The location is really nice with shops outside if you want to( It’s on Wimbledon village high street). It’s quite easy with parking with streets outside that are easily accessible. We have been going here for months after trying to mix up from Thai Square ( Bit too expensive). Here prices are moderate and food comes out relatively quickly. There is a huge variety of food on the menu ranging from curries to noodles. All of it is really authentic with little Western influence. The staff are very happy and polite. They are all oriental which gives a proper Eastern feeling. The interior is very pretty. But do be warned, there is a major tennis theme if you don’t like that sport. There is about to be a update of a delicious coconut ice cream that is just the best. Awesome place, awesome food and awesome staff. Come here if you have a huge Thai food yearning and you’re in Wimbledon Village!

Thai Tho is a nice restaurant and I have eaten there several times over recent years. However I have just had twins and leaving the house is tricky to say the least! So we tried their takeaway service. First I ordered everything through Just Eat but the system failed so I had no confirmation from the restaurant for the order. I rang them to query it and they confirmed they had received no order. I gave it to them over the phone then they suggested I formally cancel the order through Just Eat to avoid being charged twice. I did this, called them back and they confirmed they could deliver the food at 7.30pm as they weren't too busy. At 8.05pm I called the restaurant again and they told me the food was on the road. OK, delays happen but I wasn't very pleased having booked it for a certain time. By 8.25pm I called the restaurant again and they said the food had been sent out at 7.30pm but I was not at the address. They had been trying to contact me.

We wanted to spend a bit longer chatting than usual and they were very good at not rushing us. The battered prawns and chicken and cashew nuts were good and other dishes we saw looked interesting. The air conditioning was very effective in the middle of a heatwave

Traditional Thai food cooked well. Mixed starters were better than average, Thai curry and a chicken noodle dish were yummy. Service was efficient, but it was early evening and not very busy. I would come back.

I preferred the taste of original Thai. My meal for tonight was too far from original Thai, by the way it was so good with original Thai taste from my last ordered but not tonight. sorry! Will try again for the next time. Thai food is fantastic 😚

We visited after Wimbledon tennis and managed to get a table pretty quickly. Service was prompt.

Had a delicious meal here last night. Fabulous day of tennis and then headed into the village and walked straight into this restaurant. They couldn’t seat us straight away but said to come back at 9pm which we did and our table was ready. Service was really efficient and friendly even though the place was heaving.

Classic and very friendly Thai restaurant in High Street Wimbledon Village was a nice place to eat .

Visitamos este encantador restaurante después del tenis! Gran día en Wimbledon seguido de una sabrosa comida. Aunque no estaba demasiado ocupado en 20. 15 cuando llegamos estaba lleno por 21. 00! Muy popular entre los visitantes claramente wimbledon y jugadores por igual! No habíamos reservado y sólo tuvimos suerte por una mesa. Tenía un marisco muy sabroso curry y carne con salsa de cacahuate. Menú completo. Gran ambiente. Decoración elegante con algunas tallas intrincadas de madera en las paredes. Lo recomiendo.

With now three Thai restaurants in Wimbledon village the competition is hotting up, but Thai tho is still the longest established without all the flash or modern flare. It’s still my favourite in the village with a super tasty selection of your standard Thai dishes, great service and fresh decor. Good for delivery too.

Mi esposa le encanta la comida tailandesa pero buenas son pocos y distantes entre sí. Aunque todavía es familiar tailandés propiedad y prefiero apoyar una independiente. Menú de almuerzo era 10 libras. 95. Nos lo pasamos genial y el primer plato mixto crabcakes - todos cata muy fresco, entonces selva carne curry y gambas Pad thai. Todo muy bien y sin duda volveremos. No 5 estrellas ya que no explorar el menú completo, pero lo haremos.

No había sido por un rato, pero era tan bonito como siempre. Pad prik particularmente bueno. Servicio amable, una botella de picpoul de beber. La comida era buena.
