Souvlaki and Gyros in Exeter

I'm no expert on Greek food but it was super tasty, generous portion sizes, friendly and helpful staff. Recommended

Just look at that food! It couldn’t any better! The services was top tier and food was like I was sat in a restaurant in Greece all over again. My new fave place and definitely going to be a regular here! Highly recommend to everyone

I feel I need something more than the generic response I received after my scathing review , perhaps I wasn't clear , the food was inedible , despite being ravenous after a long road trip neither me or my friend ate more than a few mouthfuls , it was so disappointing if I had been in the restaurant I would have sent the food back demanded a refund and left. It is disingenuous to describe this as authentic greek food , it's nothing like souvlaki that I've had elsewhere , it was bland tasteless, mushy and dry and powdery like the poor quality chicken had been cooked in an overcrowded pan with no seasoning and then reheated , no colour on it, pale flabby and inedible, i felt so disappointed and it almost ruined our evening, souvlaki is cooked on skewers over charcoal , at least it is if it's authentic as the owner describes it , well the chicken hsd been about as near a grill as the elgin marbles are to the parthenon

It's been a long time since I've been here for takeaway after moving across Exeter but it's was worth the drive, definitely not disappointed. Generous portions, good quality and tastes great. The only reason for 4 star is that it's cash only, but in honesty it wouldn't put me off I'd just make sure I got cash before I got there in future as parking is also a bit of a mare 😬

We had the most amazing Chicken Gyros plate and Greek salad. The food is amazing and we will definitely being going back. The place is spotlessly clean, the food is fresh and plenty of it and the staff were lovely too. If I could give more stars I would! 100% recommend 👌

Nice place for a genuine Greek..

Super friendly service, my Mum had the chicken gyros which was flavoursome and delicious. I had the same as her except with grilled chicken. Really sadly when I got home the chicken was unbelievably dry, I struggled to eat it. The chips were unseasoned and needed a lot of salt, and were pretty soggy to be honest. Shame as they're super friendly. Would potentially go back as we live nearby but would definitely get the gyros instead or even a halloumi wrap. For £9 it's good value as the portion is large and the bread is nice.

Amazing food! We decided to eat in since we arent from Exeter and were staying in a hotel. They only have outdoor seating in an open shed with heaters so its fine during the winter. The food was delicous, we ordered waaay too much! The portions are huge which does not happen often in the UK. The value for money is great and they dont try to rip you off. A drink is 1-3£ which is not very common. I highly recommend this place as the food is amazing and you will not regret it. I will deffo be back when in Exeter.

The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Better by far to go pick up your food than have it delivered. Staff are friendly and accommodating, but absolutely worked off their feet. Looks pretty much like food I've eaten in Greece, so seems to me to be authentic. They have restaurant to the side which looks nicely done, but we usually go for takeaway food

Came here for a 60th Birthday meal, we had a party of 18. The authentic Greek food was amazing, everyone loved it and there was no waste, the staff were friendly and attentive, it is the perfect venue for people who love greek food and would recommend that you come here.

The best takeaway in Exeter. I've enjoyed Souvlaki and Gyros food for years now and it has been delicious every single time. This week I booked a table for 18 people for a birthday celebration in the outdoor seating area and it was absolutely perfect: delicious authentic Greek food, lovely owner and staff, brilliant service and very accommodating to our needs. I will be a customer for life and I already can't wait to return! 😊 Thank you!

Absolutely first class pork gyro. Definitely as good as you’d find in Greece! Shame you’d sold out of retsina and that you aren’t nearer to me.

This was the first time I went to have a Greek takeaway the man was very unpleasant when I got my card out to pay he said he preferred cash I asked why as clearly there was a machine to pay I did have fifty pound cash the bill was 44 when I got home the meal was so dry the chicken was awful and the whole meals were left I could never recommend this place to anyone and especially when you have come down for a holiday

Only started using recently as working in Exeter but really nice! Having been bought up in Greece getting my Greek fix from here. Great friendly staff, nice seating area next door to sit in and great food too!

Used them for a take-away and not disappointed. Great food delivered on time. Don’t know why we have not used them before, will certainly use them again. Thank you for delicious Saturday night food!

I have tried it twice once I ordered chicken gyros in plate and another time was chicken souvlaki. The gyros in the plate is so delicious and tasty because it somehow likes shawarma. It comes with salad bread chips and sauce. I highly recommend it.

Very professional service but food wasn't the best considering the price

Been tonight after seeing the page on Facebook, taste as good as it looks. Very quick service with friendly staff. Will definitely recommend, I know we will be visiting again- will sit in the dining part again with the heater. Very cosy

Das schlechteste Essen, was wir jemals bekommen, sowie gegessen haben! Alles andere als griechisches Essen.. das ist absolut katastrophal und würde ich nichtmal meinem Hund zumuten. Wir verstehen absolut nicht, wie dieses Restaurant gute Bewertungen haben kann! Nie wieder! Zu dem wird man darauf hingewiesen mit Bargeld zu zahlen, obwohl das Kartenzahlgerät funktioniert.. ich würde mal sagen, Steuerhinterziehung.. naja. Erster und letzter Besuch! Good food plus has a nice little seating area to the side. Chips were not the nicest I've had but portions are huge, especially the Gyros plate. Bit disappointed with the suggestion that I must pay with cash even though they do have a card machine.

The place offers delicious Greek food. We went for the chicken gyros portion and the pork gyros wrap and both were delightful. There is a cozy outdoor seating area with table service and a cute decoration. It is a challenge to walk there from a central place in Exeter but in the end we managed to find it.

The homemade flat bread was exceptional.The outdoor shack was atmospheric , especially with the authentic Greek music.

Just had wonderful meal in pretty terrace room at this fabulous find!

I was so surprised that this place has so good reviews. Not greek food at all. Tasteless. Intead of chicken gyros(what i order) they put skewers and chicken was very dry and tastles as well. For some reason souvlaki had sliced cucumber... huge amount of chips inside for no reason. Not recommended. I will never buy again

Happened upon this place while searching the area for food and a place that takes cards as I didn't have cash with me. The owner was super friendly on the phone and in person. When he realized I had never been there before he cut me off a huge piece of pork to sample and I was sold!!!! Soooo delicious 😋😋!! I got the pork Gyro and had trouble finishing it because there was so much.....I managed to get it all in me though! Each bite was better than the last one! I have already recommended it to my family and friends in Exeter and if you are looking at this review while wondering if you should eat here......stop reading and go get some of this food. The prices are very reasonable as well!!

Giros pitta okay...but doesn't travel well

Update: minutes after the restaurant response below, deliveroo contacted me and refunded, when asked why they had eventually refunded they advised the restaurant had conceded and authorized the refund. To address the restaurants "response" to this review which is inline with the food quality I guess, please note they took no responsibility nor made any apologies, in fact made out my experience was a lie, so I won't be taking down my review. S&G: "We don’t know what you looking for, or who made you leave such a bad review and rating." As stated in 17 days of complaints and my review I was looking for a refund on items you charged for and did not deliver, I therefore don't understand why you "don't know what I was looking for" and you not delivering what was ordered then refusing a refund was "who made me leave such a bad review". S&G: "First of all, we don’t deliver anything what has been ordered through Deliveroo." You did deliver it, on the app it could not be tracked as delivery was by restaurant and the car that delivered it had a lit sign on its roof saying "Souvlaki and Gyros" I do not lie, it was delivered by your delivery driver. S&G:"The items that you are saying that are missing are part of the Mezze Special, that is true. But is impossible to receive just one box with the veggies" again I do not lie, it is not impossible, I did not receive all the items that I stated were missing I have a long history of food delivery with deliveroo,just eat and Uber eats, I rate every delivery and give feedback and over average more than 95% of deliveries score 4 to 5 out of 5 so trust your customer when they tell you it's you thing not a me thing.all you needed to do was apologize for the poor service and authorise the refund of the missing items and I would have removed this public review. But as you chose to make me out as a liar with an agenda I feel it's in public interest to leave it up for buyers beware. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW Ordered a family meal from them through deliveroo, wasn't cheap and it arrived delivered by themselves directly (even though ordered through deliveroo) with substantial items missing, been fighting 17 days so far with deliveroo to get a refund in part for all the missing items which the restaurant is refusing. Don't use them they a rip off,will cheat you with missing items and refuse to refund you. What did arrive was far below par of the standard they were last year. what I was Missing from the Mezze Special / Family Meal (feeds 3) MISSING Greek Pita Bread x 3 MISSING Chicken Gyros Meat for 3 MISSING Bifteki for 3 MISSING Greek Style Chips for 3 Oregano & Kalamata Olive Oil As you can see that left us with basically salad, some vine leaves and rubber hallumi . Definitely not the family meal we ordered Edited AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE THEY (only authorized refund after fighting for it and reviewing on social media) AND DONT PROVIDE WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! (Then advise you what you saying is not possible)

One of the best meals I’ve had in Exeter and the best service! Such a fun authentic atmosphere with fabulous food!! They gave us complimentary ouzo and baklava which was so generous and very welcome to a group of students! Stayed open an extra hour on a Monday night to allow us to finish. Definitely a must see in Exeter!

Bitterly disappointed, ate here at the beginning of the year and it was fantastic… have tried multiple times since and it’s been awful - late delivery and wrong order, poor quality and such dry meat… absolutely gutted

Used to be better. - Opening times are pretty skint - Meat quality has lowered (some gristle) - Last I checked, prices have risen to 7GBP+ per gyros (overpriced) - Salads look like they have been sitting there for a while If you go here I would recommend pork gyros or souvlaki. If you want a taste of greece, you won't really find it here, but the food is alright.

Got Meat in a Vegetarian dish. I ordered a Halloumi Wrap (Vg) and as I was eating it, I got meat inside the wrap. I do not eat meat for religious reasons, this has been a very bad experience and a big disaster.

This was the first time having Greek food in Exeter. So pleased! Food is absolutely delicious and tastes so fresh, you can see all the ingredients right in front of you. The staff were so lovely and very accommodating as well as polite and friendly. I stupidly dropped 2 beers whilst trying to get a few out of the fridge, of course they smashed and caused a huge mess all over the floor, the staff made no issue of it and even after I asked to pay for all smashed beers they wouldn’t let me! They continued to be polite and were so understanding of the accident. The whole place is beautiful with authentic Greek style decor. Not to mention the whole place is clean and spotless! Will absolutely be going back :)

Great selection of halloumi, chicken souvlaki and pork gyros. Perfect for a hot day. We ordered the day before and there was a miscommunication/delay but staff were great and gave us some puddings to apologise. Apologies for my hangry review earlier 😭🫣 I’ve taken it down and thank you for the lovely meal!

Food was cold, soggy, dry and flavourless. I don't know how they managed dry chicken in a soggy pitta. Ordered via phone, bad communication skills, asked for delivery, had to collect in the end 50 minutes later.

Worst run business in the UK, very limited parking maybe enough for 3 cars but the owners think it's acceptable to block a spack with a car covered din advertising for the place. This forces you to park either hundreds of meters away or on double yellows.The food it self was average, soggy when it shouldn't of been and quite salty.I would recommend going literally anywhere else if you're hungry.

Thr food is very tasty but the manner of the staff not great - very snippy. Tried to explain dairy intolerance so couldn't have yogurt based sause member of staff then reported didn't understand English - asked if therr was someone else I could speak to was told no-poor-especiay as there is a sighn up saying to please speak to staff about any allergies-but food tastey

The food was delicious & very tasty 😋 We ordered the meze plus a lamb dish, (my only little complaint was the lamb was very tastless & bland) other than that we were not disappointed & we will 100% be back.
