Sourdough Street in Ipswich

Consistently very good pizza, I’ve eaten here once and had delivery three times so clearly I like it! It’s nice inside and there’s a great selection of pizza. Much better than pizza express.

Great pizza, the sourdough is so much nicer than regular pizza base. With the option of pesto as a base and lashings of toppings too, you can’t go wrong! Nom nom nom thank you Sourdough Street!

I went here for a team lunch with work colleagues, now I am not a pizza fan (I know - I am weird) but the pizzas looked fantastic, one colleague had the calzone and the other had a pizza with ham on it, the dough looked lovely on both and the size was generous, my colleague who had the pizza did not manage to finish it but was offered a box to take away the remaining half. My manager finished his calzone and said it was delicious. I had the melanzane parmigiana - I loved it, this was my favourite dish at Pizza Express but they discontinued it so I was happy to see it on this menu, it was piping hot and really tasty. The gentleman who served us was great! My one gripe, it's a minor one, there is no salt on the table, I know salt is bad for you and that restaurants these days try to be more health conscious, however, I did ask for salt and they brought me some, but it was that type of salt you cannot crumble, like little rocks so it made everything unpleasantly crunchy - please just put salt shakers on the table! But as I said this is just my little minor gripe, I would definitely go back again.

I visited Sourdough Street for a meal yesterday with a friend and we were both delighted with the quality of the food and the exceptional service! Makayla was our waitress and she was very chatty and friendly and made us feel most welcome, as did the manager. It was unlike a lot of restaurants where the order was taken and that was it. Makayla and the manager took time out to engage us in conversation which we found most refreshing. The food was served very quickly and was very tasty. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for service which is better than most places and also provides great food!

I visited Sourdough Street on Saturday with a friend. I've had delivery from them many times and always found the pizzas amazing. Saturday was no exception. The pizza, bruchetta (?) and mozzarella salad was really tasty and filled up the ol' tummy. As the restaurant is in the old Pizza Express there still is a bit of a vibe which could be capitalised on. It feels a bit clinical. The pizza restaurants I have loved over time have been ones that provide an experience with everything from the decor to the food. The food here is amazing, what I think it could benefit from in time is attention to the feel and experience. As you'll see from my suggestions I possibly have not taste at all! haha. For what it's worth, play on the Italian theme? Pizza's are from Italy? Table cloths (sorry to add to your non existent laundry bill...dimmed lighting, things on the wall, darker colours on the wall, trinkets, authentic Italian music rather than hits radio/modern tunes!??! As I said, this could be total lunacy! What I really wanted to say is that the Pizza places I love go that extra mile with authenticity with their surroundings. I hope that helps in some way. Love the pizza and staff, if there's more made of the physical setting I would defiantly choose that experience over opting for delivery...there's a lot of Pizza places in Ipswich so the customer experience is so important. Keep up the good work. ohh...maybe add to the menu with some pasta dishes if that was the direction you wished to go for.

First time using this place, delivered to our house rather than eat in. We ordered the rosemary and sea salt garlic bread which was pretty much inedible due to the amount of rock salt on it a ridiculous amounts and I like my food salty. My wife had a pizza that she said was nice, but not something she would rush back for, and I had the Calzone Feast. This stated that it comes with fresh chillis and I like a bit of heat but again this was way too much, it was full of red and green chillis that made it far too hot and just overtook all the other flavours in it which was a shame. For the cost we were very disappointed.

Best pizza in Ipswich. We order here often but came in on new years eve as well. The service was excellent and food was outstanding.

Fantastic pizza with fresh ingredients, rare that everyone at the table finishes their pizza but here it’s just too good not to. Tiramisu for desert was also very good. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, highly recommend!

Family birthday meal. The food was delicious, nice to have something different than the regular pizza toppings, we loved the peaches on our pizza. Good kids menu too. We will definitely be back

We ordered a takeaway and had this delivered. Firstly, the food arrived 30 mins earlier than we expected! Great service as far as we were concerned as we were hungry! The food was hot! Seems a simple thing but so many deliveries we’ve had have been cold and we’ve had to reheat. The food was delicious! I’ve only just finished chewing and I had to write a review as I was so impressed! Highly recommended and will definitely get a take away or maybe eat in soon!

Visited on a Saturday evening as a family of 5. The service was great. The portions were huge. My children had the kids meals and they would have been enough for an adult! The food was delicious. Definitely worth a trip here.

We had a great meal at Sourdough Street. I am coeliac and had the most helpful email conversation with Ricky beforehand about the gluten free pizzas, how they are prepared and cooked to reduce the risks of cross contamination, and he even offered that I could visit the kitchen beforehand if I wanted to. The pizza was excellent, so tasty and with a great base. It was so nice to feel reassured about eating somewhere, thank you. We all had a great time, the staff were so friendly and all the other pizzas looked great too. I would definitely go back, and would recommend to anyone else who is coeliac.

Absolutely fantastic! Five of us went for pizza and bottomless Prosecco on a Saturday afternoon. Food was delicious and the service was faultless. Huge thank you to Ricky for keeping the Prosecco flowing. Will definitely be visiting again.

First visit, definitely won't be the last! I had the gluten free option of the Sourdough special, which had peaches, Italian ham, basil pesto and an entire mozzarella cheese. Absolutely gorgeous, the gluten free base was delicious - I was told they make it in-house....

We have ordered a couple of times from here and cannot rate it anymore. The pizza is divine and authentic. It’s a great original menu to suit everyone. It’s shown me new flavours and I hope they do really well and take ipswich by storm!

This is a great locally owned and great fresh local ingredient's and good to see one of the old Pizza Express restaurant's being reused.

Generous pizzas freshly made. The place itself and staff were lacking in personality and atmosphere. Disappointed in what could be a nice place to eat. Don't get me wrong it was nice food but just a bit bland and boring. Hopefully time will improve this...

Lovely starter, nice cold Italian beer. Amazing pizza, the flavours where spot on, we can tasty the real ingredients, can see that they are not buying it cheap ones. Well done team keep up the good work.
