Shanghai Chef in Swansea

Ordered food at 7pm on uber eats. Stated the arrival time would be 8 to 820pm. Rang at 845pm to check and was told it was leaving for delivery. Still nothing at 905pm. So rang again amd was told it would be 10 minutes. Rang then again at 930 as it still wasn't here and cancelled. To which the answer was "okay bye". Don't waste your time or if you do wish to order what ithers deem terrible food. I'd order at lunch time if you want Chinese for dinner.

Delicious! It was a rare treat in these straightened times that was worth every penny. There is a lovely wide choice of dishes, so there should be something for every taste. It is easily the best oriental food in Swansea. Well worth saving up for.

Really enjoyed, lovely food but a little expensive.

The worst meal I've had from this place. Most of it was inedible and ended up in the bin. The onions were stale and tough. The chips were hard, and tasted as though they had been warmed up from yesterday. I'll never use this take away again. My cat wouldn't even touch the chicken in the chow mein, which was swimming in grease. A total waste of my money.

It was marked as delivered, but it never arrived. Phone number for the restaurant is turned off so I can’t call them.

Food ordered at 6;45 pm, i am writing this at 21:57, food has not arrived, have been told it has been delivered at 20:15. Substantial order lost to the wind. Restaurant has disconnected phone lines and full voice mail so unable to contact to find out

Don’t order from here food will not turn up and restaurant will not answer it has spoilt the night now should not be aloud they take your money and don’t turn up please please don’t order from here you will be wasting your time

Family arrived early as were given a delivery time of 19:15. Constantly trying to contact the restaurant to no avail and h food arrived at 21:10

I understand it was a busy evening, had I been told the delivery time was much later I would never have ordered, I would prefer to informed if a realistic time and make a choice before placing an order… will never order from here again

Food still hasnt arrived, over 40 phone calls to the restaurant and no answer!! Quick enough taking over £100 order but cant answer the phone. Cant comment on the food as its still not here!!

Food was very late, however when it arrived it all tasted lovely.

Tried a delivery from these guys for the first time today. We were very impressed. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. We will certainly be ordering from them again.

I am absolutely appalled by the way the service was tonight with Shanghai Chef. I've always used this Chinese for numerous years however I made an order at 9pm via their website. I waited up until 10.15pm still nothing,phoned the restaurant for them to tell me he's on the way. Then at 10.30pm still no sign so I phoned them back for them to contemplate if I made the order on just eat or uber. I told them no it was on your website,for them to turn around and say " oh I'll phone the chef now" huh don't make sense. All for the phone to be put down,so obviously I called back for them to say sorry we will get it sent out now!! When it did arrive at 11.05 not forgetting they close at 10pm when the delivery driver came finally I said to him they close at 10 he said no 10.30 so why does the time online say 10pm?? Also here is a pic of one of the dishes which was obviously made quickly as it's al dentè and full of bloody onions. Not happy at all!!

No sauce on the ribs. It had spilled out of the tray, presumably during delivery, therefore I had dry ribs! Very disappointed.

First time I have ever picked a delivery time, delivery was late by 30 minutes, had to warm up in the microwave before eating. Bit disappointing as I have always had a great service.

we eat from this place every week ,but usually pick up our order. placed this order with just eat 2 and half hours later our order arrived with an apology and free bottle of coke. shocking service .

Ordered a takeaway and can’t fault the service. Delivered in time, the owner even phoned to check we’d received meal. Food is delicious, containers topped to the brim with contents. Look forward to enjoying this over next few meals as there’s so much.

I was a little sceptical on ordering from here as I’d heard mixed reviews but it was outstanding. The chowmein noodles were a little bland but everything else was really nice! The portions are huge. Would deffo order again

The only good thing was the friendly delivery driver! The chow mein was completely tasteless and the popadoms were stale and rubbery! The egg fried rice was fine!! Never again!

Incredibly bad delivery experience. Was shouted at down the phone by a guy calling me a "naughty boy" and claiming that the driver called me (which he never did) for the location I entered which was the followed by a very rude and angry driver shouting at me both down the phone and in person that the location that I entered (marina office) was a large area despite me giving multiple business names as directions

Ordered the food 9pm to be delivered for 10:15pm then it was delivered around 11:20pm
