This is what you get when you ask for no salad on your kebab. Guy knew what I ordered, other guy had clearly made one up with salad, so instead of taking the salad off the guy I ordered from just put some kebab meat on top of it to 'hide' it. Won't be back.

No one had a clue what was going on. Asked for a burger meal from the menu which states it includes chips and a drink. I was charged £6:50 and told no drink. Food was rotten to top it off. Avoid at all costs.

I was in Shahs Palace last night and ordered a Mini mixed grill I wanted Tandoori chicken chicken tikka lamb tikka Donner meat chicken chaat bhoona sauce and rice and chips and I sed to the young boy I want to buy a Nan bread separate I never got the rice but I was charged £16:50 for the meal how many people get ripped off every time they visit shahs palace

I got an order on the 7th of May 2024 and the food was awful and my drinks smelled like urine, I contacted shah place for my money back the next day and was told a manager would call myself back and never did, I contacted them again and was told I would get a call back and never have (ABHORRENT customer service )AVOID .

Unbelievable food, will never eat a better pizza. Staff are lovely and welcoming and just all round good eggs. Would highly recommend and if you go get the spicy chicken pizza it slaps.

Ordered on the app when doing so I've accidentally clicked in to the one veg topping section, however when in the section the options it gave me were meat causing me not to realise my mistake. So I've selected spicy chicken expecting a spicy chicken pizza once I've collected. What I've collected is a pizza with every vegetable they serve with a spicy chicken base. I don't understand how I could get every veg when the order says oboy one veg so surely seeing that I've not selected any veg to go on they'd realise I've ordered from that section in error or at the very least just put one veg on making it easier for me to pick it off if it was something I didn't like. Tried to explain this to them to be told its what I ordered when I certainly didn't order a pizza with onions,sweetcorn mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers. I understand it was my initial mistake but to just make up the toppings and slam them on is the bit I can't understand.

Food not really up to much at all, and pretty expensive for what you get. Most of the prices and deals on the in-store menu are wrong, and cash only. I will try the other similarly named place next time I think.

First time ordering. Chips and cheese and a pizza. No cheese on chips and full order cold. Last time ordering.

After last using this place 2 years ago and being left dissatisfied after calling up to let them know our food delivery was wrong (was told basically, 'tough'), I decided to try again on Friday night as I know this place has largely good reviews. Bad decision. I ordered a shish kebab, which should be chunks of lamb. What I got was chunks of some sort of minced offal, mixed with gritty bits. No salad or bread offered with it. Not asked if I wanted salt/vinegar for the chips I'd ordered. When I asked about the salad, I was told that it would cost extra. I left, feeling uncomfortable, as the staff were far too busy chatting to two regulars to be bothered with me. Once outside, I tried a bit of the meat. Immediately spat it out and decided to donate the rest of the 'food' to the seagulls. Based on trying to fix an issue directly last time, coupled with the fact that customer service only applies to the locals, I didn't bother going back in to ask for a refund. Awful food, worse customer service. I went to Shah's across the road and they were brilliant. Avoid Shah's Palace, I wouldn't feed their food to my dogs (but hopefully the seagulls enjoyed it).

Awful service and food even worse. This isn't the first time either, and after reading the other reviews, it seems to be a common occurence. After going in and ordering food, being basically ignored because the 2 guys behind the counter were far too busy talking to a couple (must be regulars). I ordered a shish kebab, (dunno what it was they served me but it wasn't shish) and chips. A few minutes after ordering, a bag was thrown in my direction. I asked if there was salad with the kebab, since it's pretty standard to be asked what you want for your salad, and was told it the kebab didn't have salad or bread, you need to pay extra for that. Went outside and opened up the food. The meat more like chunks of donner, tasted even worse and had the most disgusting texture. I should've gone back in to complain, but felt too uncomfortable after the unpleasant service I'd just had. Also, last time I'd used Shah's Palace a couple of years ago, they got the order wrong and didn't bother fixing it when we rang up about it. So there wasn't much point in going back in. The food got thrown away and I went over the road to try Shah's, who are nothing to do with Shah's Palace. They were brilliant and will be getting my custom again when I'm back in Kilmarnock.

Ordered food from here tonight and had the best Indian food we have eaten for a long time. So fresh, absolutely delicious, portions sizes were spot on and prices were great. Main meals prices included rice or naan bread. Lamb was melt in the mouth and the chicken tikka was to die for. I would recommend Shahs Palace to anyone who enjoys proper Indian cuisine. Fantastic, keep up the great cooking. Will be ordering again very soon.

Decent food but wayyyyyyy over priced extremely expensive

If you want pizzas that have asian taste, this is the place for you in Kilmarnock. I don't think they'll care much about this review since they're quite established already and get crazy busy. The people were very nice too which helps.

The doner kebab was excellent and was a very good portion garlic sauce and the kebab sauce was mint 😋🍽️👍

This was the most scrumptious delicious box of goodness I've eaten in a while. It's hard to find genuine authentic Asian food, especially in Kilmarnock, but this was just purely outstanding. I highly recommend, from pizza and chips to the king mixed donner, everything is just amazing. Tender cooked meat and a wide sauce range.. now this is real Indian food!

Usually order from here all the time but the past few times it’s been awful. Tonight my order was wrong, cold and around an hour 30 to get to me. Phoned up to be told sorry we only have one driver, if that’s the case then the website should notify you to which I would have ordered somewhere else. Taking peoples money knowing you’ll be sending food out to customers cold is just poor. Won’t be back which is gutting. Glory days of shahs is over I reckon. Sad times.

Absolutely shocking , ask for chicken korma with rice and sent korma sauce without chicken and then had the cheek to say that’s what I’d ordered although they charged me for it then hung up the phone when I complained , will never be back place Is an absolute rip off

Dreadful. Been like this the last twice. Ordered a mixed nan kebab, asked for salad and sauce on it, got neither except a tiny cold tub of sauce that was so watered down that it soaked through the nan bread and then through the box. Jesus H Christ. Furthermore, one small tub is not even nearly enough for such a large box. Don’t even ask if the sauce was spicy. The lamb meat was like rubber. It also arrived cold. If I wanted to eat terrible food, I’d just eat my husband’s food as it’s free. That’s the last we’ll be getting food from here. Ridiculous.

Ordered online. Got a phone call to say they couldn’t provide what we had ordered. Despite the options on their website, we were told we would only receive one naan, not two. Not very helpful when we said we didn’t want the food. Highlighted the poor customer service but got nothing but cheek. We asked for a refund but I’m not confident we will get it. Not the first time they’ve messed up, but it’ll be the last, I won’t be ordering from Shahs Palace again.

Every single order/delivery is missing items. Every single time I add " please check order is complete as las time order was missing items "... And as usual order arrived missing items. But this time when calling to ask for my missing items they tried to tell me I never ordered what was missing even though I'm looking at the confirmed order as I'm speaking to them .... Never known a restaurant to be so incapable of filling an order .. tbh I think they do it on purpose. Working in customer service my whole life, never have I experienced such poor customer service as you will get from this place .... HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT WHATS ORDERED IN A BAG AND OUT FOR DELIVERY!! ... NOT TO MENTION SPENDING £40 AND HAVE THEM LYING SAYING I NEVER ORDERED WHT WAS MISSING!! YOUS GOT CAUGHT OUT THERE !! UNBELIEVABLE!!

Usually really enjoy the food and ordered tonight as my daughter chose Shahs. Made order via website and unfortunately chips were missed in our order. Phoned and they sent some out within 20mins...however these were the worst re-fried chips ever. Not sure if they thought we were not genuine or if this is deemed acceptable to them however they were inedible. Poor service from a normally good takeaway. Will not order again quickly as a result. Very disappointing

Every second Tuesday, we get the 2 for Tuesday on pizzas - £9 for two 10 inch pizzas. If you order on the app, go to "Meal Deal" and look for "Crazy Tuesday". Always look forward to it. Can be busy between 5 and 7pm so be patient 🙂.

Ordered a delivery. Only good point about this order was delivered on time. Chicken Madras - not what you'd expect from a madras. Tasted like a tin of tomatoes loaded with chillies. No other distinguished taste Mixed Kebab - so salty it was inedible! Garlic Nan - soaking and soggy in parts. Other parts still had lumps of unmelted garlic butter. Total waste of money. Definitely won't be back

Grew up in Kilmarnock and always loved Shahs Palace, have even raves about their kebabs to my kids. Back up for the evening and ordered a small donner kebab for delivery, arrived quickly, to say it was a small that I ordered there was loads in it and just as tasty as I remember ☺️☺️

I’ve been using Shah’s Palace for over 25 years and after all these years it’s safe to say the standard has dropped considerably. Starting with the initial phone call to place your order for a delivery.it’s like talking to a recorded phone message. The girl who answers the phone on a Saturday night is as dull as dishwater and talks like a robot then messes up the order. This applies to the guy who takes the order as well. He’s in such a hurry to get off the phone he messes the order up as well. Out of the last 10 orders before I stopped giving them custom 7 have been wrong and missing items, but needless to say I’ve still been charged full price. This is after I’ve repeated the order several times over the phone to make sure there’s no confusion. I don’t want to phone up and go through an interrogation and question and answer session when there’s no rice or Nan bread then get it sent out 30 mins later when the rest of the food is cold. I just want what I’ve asked for and what I’ve paid for to arrive as a full order. This takes me to the “Delivery”. The Poppadoms are absolutely laughable and are more like a bag of mashed up crisps in 100 pieces. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has encountered this almost every time I order. The food is also far below the standards of what it used to be at Shah’s. There’s a lot less chicken in the main courses than what there used to be. It’s little amounts of chicken with lots of sauce. The Nan breads (when you actually get them) are hard and crispy and are more like a cream cracker than soft Nan. One thing they make sure happens EVERYTIME is charging full price without checking the order is correct. Nobody’s checking the orders. All in all I’m sad to say it but I’ve started going elsewhere where the order has been right every time, the price is fair, the food has been good portions of tasty food and the Nan bread isn’t rock hard. Even the poppadoms have been spot on. In my opinion try somewhere else as Shah’s Palace has really went downhill. New management, staff and chefs needed. Sad to say after all these years but true.

Ordered a £20 meal deal for only the pizza and two cheese nans to arrive. So phoned to be told I would get partial refund on Monday. So only small pizza for dinner. Not acceptable no phone call to say the system is not working. If too busy stop taking orders!!!

Ordered from here last night as we were visiting friends in Kilmarnock. Curries were all amazing, we would definitely go back. Only one little thing we ordered a sweet nan that didn't come. But all in all they deserve the 5 stars

My personal favourite Indian takeaway. They do decent pizzas, very good curries and their Peshwari Naan is good and you can tell it’s been made fresh.

Food arrived cold, had to microwave the pizza, after waiting an hour and 15 minutes. This is the second time that happened. Think we will order elsewhere in the future.

Had our first pizza from Shah's palace and can honestly say it was delicious and service was fast, i asked to change one of the veggies on my pizza and put another in its place so was very dissapointed that they hadnt just swapped it instead they charged me for the one I changed it to

Ordered over £30 pounds worth of food online and paid with my debit card. Delivery driver arrived and requested additional money which I couldn’t understand, she called the shop from my door to query and turns out i was being charged for additional cheese etc which the website allowed mr to add and no mention of additional charges. Surely it’s up to the business to ensure that there prices are correct online and not try charging additional at the point of delivery, bit of a con. I paid it because I couldn’t be bothered arguing with the poor delivery driver but we won’t be back, shame as I have been a customer for over 15yrs but certainly not the same as it used to be. Food quality was poor, burnt garlic bread, hardly any chicken in a chef’s special dish and packaged so bad the food had fallen out some of the containers. I suggest shahs palace update their website to ensure the prices are correct and up there game as the quality has definitely went downhill.

My flat is on the top floor, I get a phone call that I need to meet them at the front door for my delivery because of 'COVID' (i've had maybe 200 deliveries during COVID and never had this request). If i was dressed to go outside, then I probably wouldn't be ordering a takeaway for delivery so this is very annoying and I will not order from them again. The delivery woman, so concerned about COVID had no mask on or gloves.

Ordered a calzone as soon as I took it out the bag half of it fell out the underside of the box was just a soggy mess,I would have been better eating the box absolutely rotten!!!

Got battered sausage and chips, chips weren't cooked properly and we're disgusting, and batter on sausage was more like wallpaper paste it was awful. After driving for 13 hours and thus place was ment to be good and it was a fair drive back to my Premier Inn I am extremely disappointed

Me n my dad usually order two for Tuesday but couldn't find it on their website. When I got my pizza the second slice had a solid peice of plastic in it! Never phoned up coz I dont like to make a fuss of things but thats not right!

Ordered family meal for it to arrive wrong and items missing. Spoiled our meal as we had to eat separately. Will think twice before ordering again. What a waste of money, order over £30.

Seemed to be ready way too fast to feel authentic, never got a sauce with my seekh kebab. Not much chicken, not much taste. Salad looked fresh.

Used to be a great Standard of food it was good and hot with lovely service. Staff has changed and so has the food. I ordered a kebab and curry both were cold kebab greasy and just a slushy mush even the dog left it. Pizza was soggy and the topping was burnt. Would not go back.shame as it was a great place.

Got a meat feast tonight and given garlic mayo as a dip. Was lovely as shared it with my pregnant partner in the maternity unit at crosshouse hospital. Hope it helps her start 🙏😁

Normally love Shaz palace maybe new chef but my meal for two in saturday was way too spicy achari and tika masala we couldn't eat as the spice off the chart these dishes are not marked as hot we were a tad dissapointed

absolutely embarrassing service! so rude and you have to repeat your order about 12 times. say you'll get your order in half an hour and it arrives two hours later...and most of the time its the wrong order!! You then have to wait another 20 mins whilst they deliver the stone cold food and you do not even receive an apology!

The carry out we got on Friday was terrible and disgusting I would never recommend this place. The chef speciality dishes mostly taste the same and are full of false coulering, the Channa puree was absolutely unbeatable so never again.
