Unfortunately I was busy eating and having fun to take any photos but wasn’t happy when the waiter brought over the mains while I was eating my starter!!!! Paid £20 per person deposit, this was a shock as never paid a deposit anywhere. The Italian savignon blanc was delicious. Mussles weren’t very good, asparagus tortellini was delicious, everyone else’s food was also good.

A lot of people have told me how nice this restaurant is, but the menu isn't my first choice, as I'm not a pasta n pizza fan. However I do like risotto, normally. This had a fairly nice taste overall, but some of the mushrooms had been reduced to slime and the rice was just a sludge. There was an underlying bitter taste that was probably something expensive but I didn't really care for it. I didn't hate the meal and ate about half, it was a big serving, but I wouldn't have it again. Nearly everyone else enjoyed their meals, the steak being very popular. The desserts were universally disappointing. I wouldn't choose to visit here again, and only went as it was a family get together. It's a bit pricey too.

Very nice food and great service, the only thing to mark the evening down was the constant smell of cigarette smoke coming from the back door.

Popped into Salt for a quick lunch. Haven’t been before so didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Food was lovely and ‘proper Italian’. Service was great, even had the door opened for me as I left. Those little touches make all the difference. Thanks guys 🙏🏻🤩

Went out for dinner with my misses and googeled for italian style restaurats in the area, found this beautiful modern design place called SALT, the desing looked modern with a open kitchen where you could see the chefs cooking and the level of cleaningness was briliant. We ordered some starters to begin with and a mixed sea food plater for 2 which i highly recomend fresh and nice and personally i went for the sea food linguini which as a suprise was a big portion and full of sea food. Highly recomand it to anyone who likes sea food.

The bald headed little man with glasses was so rude, he raised his eyes so many times I could have throttled him I had oil slipped all down my jumper which cost £110 pounds They got our order wrong and then said I’ll have to see if I can get it taken off. They are frightened of that little rude bald man! Don’t waste your time going here food is ok but service is poor and to me I can handle average food but I can’t hand rude people like that little bald man . I hope your area manger or the owner can see this review because I am not the only person who has mentioned it To the owner get Rid of that little rude man and get someone who can handle working with the public or he will ruine your business

Very welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. My go to is the Essex pizza and the burrata which is absolutely amazing, my girls love the penne al pollo. Quality of food is fantastic. My mum had the scampi risotto and she said it was very good. The tiramisu on the other hand is to die for. Beautiful dessert.

We had a really nice lunch here, we all had pizzas and they were delicious. The food arrived quickly and the service was good.

As an Italian I think I’ve plenty of experience with pizza. This one was very disappointing you couldn’t cut it for love nor money , so chewy and tough. I’m not planning my return

Lovely clean, stylish modern design, warm atmosphere, smell of the wood oven is great. The food we all had was faultless, the seafood pasta is to die for!!

So pleased we popped in this evening! We drove through Maldon and this restaurant looked lovely. The manager kindly squeezed us in to eat at the bar, they were fully booked. Great atmosphere, very busy so people obviously love it there! Food was excellent, service was friendly, little bit slow but understandable on a busy Saturday night. Definitely recommend this restaurant, we'll be going back soon!

Booked to eat and arrived to see people fanning themselves as so hot in th restaurant. When we asked for the air conditioning to be switched on the waitress said they weren't allowed to. The owner was asked and we got the answer it's not working and just walked off so we did the same. Will never return.

Met friends in Maldon off the cuff so nothing booked and walked the High Street and found this amazing Italian restaurant Not booked but seated us and we enjoyed a 3 course mesl with wine and excellant service we will be back

Where to start, it's nice that Maldon has somewhat an authentic Italian but it's more commercial flashy pazzazthen anything else, just like Paparazzi, if you want Authentic Italian I would suggest Luigi's for their friendly staff, real cooking, overall Italian atmosphere and intimate experience. After that epilogue, it was my birthday and someone else's and we booked 12 people and told them this week's prior, when we got to our space we was one table short so they put a round table at the end as they were running short on 1x1 tables. We order our food fine, starters, drinks and mains the staff were very attentative, anything you could ask for, the Front of House staff and waiters excellent service. So we get our food and some had ordered pizzas and some had ordered pastas, we was told pasta was fresh but it felt like it was more water based pasta and the pizza was mid at best, good quantity but fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Our main issue and gripe was the heating in there, there were 4-5 air conditioning units in there, it was a 26 degree day, evening now so must of been 23⁰c- 24⁰c. We were sweating and non of the air condition units where on, it made eating the food uncomfortable as the food was warm in itself. We did ask if they would turn the air conditioning on and their response was "sorry we can't because the front doors are open". Well then why not open them then? There was an air condition unit by the front door? It made the whole experience uncomfortable and not fun and we didn't stay for desert because of it and wasn't offered and apology or explanation considering the size of our party. Also we calculated our costs between 12 of us and divided it by 12 and still had a 10% excess charge, not sure what that was about. You can see my previous reviews I'm not a Karen I don't review things unfairly, I just feel like we had a poor experience at Salt on that evening.

Food was very good the waitress was very good but The head waiter is very rude and arrogant. This is the second time we have been to this restaurant and we gave him the benefit of the doubt first time but will not be returning. This is Maldon not Mykonos

What more could you ask for, great food great service and great atmosphere. Staff were so lovely too.

Came last night with friends was really looking forward to it as it looked from the decor to be a really nice restaurant but that's where it ends! The service was terrible!! Staff were just not interested in serving we had to shout 3 times to order our food. Brought 2 starters but didn't bring the other 2 we had to ask for them!! My chicken tagliatelle was awful so very dry with hardly any sauce and lacking ingredients! Staff so unattentative. The quickest thing that came last night was the bill!! We asked for the 10% service charge to be taken off by the tall older guy others have mentioned as not good on reviews but he wasn't really interested in why we were unhappy he apologised and said 'would you like a drink on the house'. We said yes but before we could order drinks of our choice he stuck 4 very small limoncello on the table which you normally get in Italian restaurants anyway!! Hence we told him to take them away. Will not be visiting here again!! Far better restaurants than this.

An old gentleman was rude rolling his eyes when called him two times to keep ordering food. The pizza wasn't good enough, not too many ingredients, too tiny but really the main issue was the old gentleman and his behaviour. We have been charged for things that we ordered but never received. No V or Vg mark on the menu. To be honest I needed Google in order to understand what some Italian words mean.

The service leaves a lot to be desired.

First time in Salt, excellent service and food, really enjoyed our visit will be returning.
