Great vibe, very friendly and accommodating as we didn't book. Food was excellent and we walked away thinking we had great value for what we had. Will come again next time we are in the market for some SALT.

Walk in Table for 6 on a Thursday brunch. Went for the "worker" menu @14.95 2 x courses (£19.95 x 3 courses) All meals were very nice(baked mushroom with chopped veg & mozzarella, fried calamari & whitebait and soup Mains 5x tagliatelle bolongnese 1 x meatballs with mash potato We also opted for 3 additional desserts Creme brulee(OK) & chocolate profiteroles (nice) Service was very good Service charge auto added

Came in with 4 friends a little tipsy after spending most of the afternoon in Datum Tap room drinking great beers. We were greated with a smile and quickly showed to a table and a round of beers ordered before we even had to ask. Food menu looked amazing and extensive. We ordered two of the meat platters and two pizzas. Steak was cooked to perfection and pizzas delicious. Would definitely come back with wife next time. Service was quick and very friendly.

PLEASE NOTE DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A TODDLER!!! When arriving we asked for a high-chair, they bought over what I can only describe what looked like a potty that strapped onto an adult chair with one strap. Half way through the meal our 1 and half year fell backwards and hit his head. THESE seats are the worst thing I’ve seen and should not be provided. Just buy high chairs. What’s even more annoying about this is we when we went to the shop across the road after and they had high chairs for sale for only £40. To top it off, we were offered no compensation on the bill.. just acted like it didn’t happen. Also no changing satiation to change the baby :). Please do not use these seats you go here !!

Food was an absolute nightmare calamari seemed raw pizza was soggy and had no flavour tasted like it had come out of the backwater river chips were oily and tasted like fish and cost me the price of my front door.

Just came here for a staff party. The chefs were amazing. Answered questions about food. baldo, gabriel and kristjan went above and beyond. The food was incredible. For the number of people that attended, they made no slip ups. Jen gave amazing service behind the bar, got orders perfectly correct and was quick to serve. The waiter and waitress’s were just as amazing. Very good night, very good service, amazing how the staff attended such a large table whilst still maintaining all over tables. Would recommend highly. Special mention to Jen and Alionka for such an amazing service. Thank you so much

Booked a table for 8:30 pm Arrived on time then to be greeted by a look at his watch as if to say this time of night. Was asked to sit at bar whilst waiting for a table Bar man tried his best to ignore us. Eventually sat down Not the best service no mention of dessert or coffee Unfortunately won’t be returning.

Me and my partner visited today, food was excellent, our server, Alexa, was great. Service and food was quick and delicious.

Salt is a fantastic restaurant, the pizzas are amazing and the staff are always attentive, especially Giovanni.

First visit. Party of 4 adults. Saturday night. Great atmosphere and really good food. Service was a bit of a let down. Mains came up having not cleared the starter, then waitress took mains away when wife was still eating. Deserts were ordered but mine arrived about 5 minutes later than the others. As I say great atmosphere, good food, service wasn’t great.

The first thing that hits you when you enter the restaurant is the cacophony of noise. The venue is all hard surfaces, so all sound is amplified. We visited on a Saturday night, and there were a couple of large, noisy parties in, including birthdays, which involved the obligatory Stevie Wonder track being played twice whilst we were there, but so loudly that I had to hold my hands over my ears. The music remained at a volume so high that conversation was impossible. To be fair, when I asked for this to be turned down, it was, but it gradually crept back up until by the time we left, we could no longer converse without shouting again. As for the service, we watched as our drinks sat on the bar for 15 minutes before being delivered, by which time all the ice had melted. The two mushroom starters arrived cold and half cooked, and the mussels came without a bowl for the shell and no finger bowl. The mains were adequate, but arrived with no condiments and there were none on the table. At no point were we offered a drinks refill, and by the end we couldn't wait to leave. The only highlight of an otherwise miserable experience was our lovely waitress Amy, who listened patiently and politely to our complaints, explaining that you were short staffed and offering a liquore on the house as an apology. Give Amy a pay rise!

Giovanni looked after us very well!! He made sure my wineglass was full at all times. Very knowledgable about the menu and brilliant at describing the specials. Great experience, beautifully cooked pasta and wonderfully flavoured bruschetta ❤️ will definitely be coming back.

I was looking forward to my a special celebration. But sorry to say it was not. We chose the cold meze starter for 2 when it arrived it did not look that appetising we were not even half way through when we were told our mains were ready. We said but still eating starter and was told that it would get cold if we didn't eat now. So we put the starter to one side. When the main arrived the lamb chops were so dry they were hard to eat. The swordfish my partner ordered was dry and he could only part eat. We felt constantly rushed and the food very disappointing.

Very nice place! Popped in for a late night drink. Friendly staff, beautiful interior design, venue looked great, so a future visit quite possible!

We recently had a large family meal with around 20 guests from all over the world. Their team was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole afternoon we were there. The drinks were very nice and the food was perfect. I personally had the crusted lamb but between us we probably had everything on the menu with no complaints. Giovanni made sure we had everything we needed and also obliged my mother with a dance at the end to some Italian music. Our waitress was Millie and she was fantastic from the very start. She was so polite and has the greatest smile. It wasn't until we spoke to her that we found out it was her first ever shift. Thank you again, we will be returning soon.

Lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated and friendly attentive staff. Waited a little bit for first drinks order but food was brought out quite quickly and no complaints for any dishes that were ordered! Personally had the lamb but would probably opt for pizza if visited again as that seems to be their signature dish!

We had a very impromptu visit to salt bar pizza grill today as a table of 5. firstly, the staff were very accommodating (especially to our 90 year old grandmother who wanted something that wasn't on the menu) I can't thank the chefs enough for this. we had a lot of questions, which again, staff were diligent and answered everything. the service was outstanding, and giovani is a lovely host. the food was exquisite, the steak was amazing, and my mouth is still watering with how beautiful the Italian tiramisu was. I literally can't wait to come back, even if it is just for dessert.

We popped in on the spur of the moment and were very pleased with our dinners. Will definitely go there again.

Dined on Saturday at 5:30pm. We were sat in a corner right beside 3 families with the tables so close together we may as well have all been on one. The restaurant was not busy so I can only think that the reason we were all sat directly next to one another by the window, is to insinuate the restaurant is busy to try and get more business in. The waitresses had to squeeze past me to get to the next table without saying excuse me (this is a clear sign that you sat us all too close together) carrying next doors plates above my head. Drinks did not come until our food had arrived either so quite poor. The food was average, although no pizza cutter was provided and a blunt butter knife wasn’t cutting through. There was no service from any of the waitresses, appreciate they were all very young and one was clearly on their first shift, but because of this I would not have tipped. I do not believe adding service charge on to a bill without permission from the customer is right; tipping is a bonus for great service which unfortunately we did not have any of this evening. Quite disappointed as a whole and wouldn’t return or recommend. A very vanilla evening and nothing to shout home about.

Fist time visiting. Food was lovely. Service was shocking. Rudest man I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. After reading some more reviews clearly it wasn’t a one off. Also wasn’t just once at dinner it was at several different moments. Definitely shouldn’t be working front of house! Shame as has put me off returning even though the food was nice.

Third time here, after a couple of mediocre visits previously. This time was a much better experience. Great service from all staff, especially Amy. Food arrived very quickly and was delicious. Pizza, pasta and risotto were all excellent plus 2 mixed salads and a bottle of house wine. Total £90 including tip. I’d definitely recommend on the basis of this meal.

10/10 will be coming back. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of visiting here last night for a date night and honestly it was exceptional. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend to not only couples but those looking for a family friendly resturant in the area!

The two guys were really busy. It took 20mins to get a drink. If we had been sorted with a drink straight away it would have been maximum stars, because the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Music was a bit loud. Love this place we shall return

The restaurant is clean and cozy. The food is exceptional, especially the Italian pizza, which is the best in Maldon. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This in our opinion is the best place to eat in Maldon, exceptional!! Giovanni (apologies if my spelling is wrong) and his brilliant staff deliver the best service you could wish for. The food is amazing, mussels to die for, monkfish incredible and pizza and pasta all wonderful. We had a big group and they looked after us all so well. I don’t normally do reviews, you’re asked for too many these days, but this warranted a mention.

My friends and I eat at the Salt restaurant in Maldon last night. We had a great time, the service was fantastic and very attentive. I’m gluten free and has the best pizza I’ve ever eaten out before. I would recommend eating out in this restaurant and will be coming back again.

Meal was over £300 and looked like it had been warmed up and microwaved .meat platter was burn and dry . Peppercorn sauce was like gravy the Prosecco was flat had to ask for new bottle to be opened . The nicest thing about the meal was the waitress . Has gone downhill and won’t eat their again

Great food. service was good but needs a little attention some things were forgotten and we had to ask for sauces and drinks.

Wow where do I start. The gentlemen , who since it has opened, was extremely aragent , looked totally bored and showed no interest in the clients. Hope fully it was an off day but I don't think I will return. The food was substandard and had to ask for a replacement meal of which was charged on our bill! When pointed this out the waiter agreed without even looking at the bill. I asked for a medium wine and he turned , walked away and returned with the most expensive wine on the menu. No interaction, suggestion, or polite conversation. I was also very suprised that a tip was applied to the funal bill. I assumed maybe wrongly that a party over 5 was expected to pay a service charge. Very disopointed with the overall service. Expected better

A very friendly staff. Offered quick service and recommended choices of food . Pizzas are light and very well made. Celebrated my eldest daughter birthday. Staff made the occasion so special. We overstayed by 15 minutes but they were very accommodating . I appreciated their kindness. Definitely will go back with my family again.
