A lovely place, tasty food and friendly and helpful service. Ist time there but it won't be our last.

Not bad but seemed to be a lot of mistakes being made, some of them rectified by getting the order right at no extra charge in fact the final bill was discounted

I don't normally bother to review but I have to highly recommend this place. The staff and service are excellent but what absolutely sets it apart is the food. Each dish really does have it's own distinctive taste and the food is of the highest standard with great use of ingredients and fflavours. Well done to the kitchen team, somebody really knows what they're doing! Fantastic!

Tried here the other day and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly.

Visited 21st of June. This was our first visit and from the moment we walked in, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Very attentive staff and more than helpful explaining the menu. ,"If you want anything hotter or milder, more or less garlic, just tell us and we will do it" Obviously everything is cooked fresh and to order. The individual servings are, well, if not enormous certainly bordering on enormous...... The tastiest Lamb, large chunks of lamb obviously cut from bone and just melted in the mouth. Loads of meat in the curry, not just the three or four pieces maybe at other restaurants. Would certainly recommend to anyone and will be returning (regularly). I have knocked one star off the atmosphere, simply because, and only a personal opinion, I don't like TVs in a restaurant. Having said that, there was a major football match on the evening and it may have been turned on after a request (sound was muted) For this level of service and quality of food, I can put up with a TV in the background Thanks to all at Saffron.

Excellent curries, excellent popodums and sauces. Let down by the rice and nan which was poor quality and overpriced.

Fantastic first meal in Saffron. The setting was pretty good for date night. We had the King Prawn Masala, with Chicken Akbori Chom Chom - which was a great recommendation by our lovely waiter, and we got greedy and ordered a Motor Paneer side. Everything was tip top and our only error was filling up on the lovely Mango Lassi. We're pleasantly stuffed with a bit of lovely food left over for tomorrow's lunch. Can't wait to go back!

The food was absolutely delightful and honestly just had me in shock,For a place like this never really expected it to be this good,The interior and the atmosphere was well kept and clean.The staff were great and brung vibrant and warm energy. The food was genuinely mind blowing,You can really taste all the spices and flavours in each curry.The poppadoms were nice and crunchy also. The Lamb chop main was another thing that caught me by surprise nice and fresh came off the bone smoothly and softly also presented well on a sizzler so it’s kept warm you also get a curry sauce with it which is even better so it doesn’t feel plain.The sides what made everything better a garlic nan bread which was fluffy on the outside and soft on the inside,Chips crunch and made well done! And also some boiled rice which was outstanding good. My recommendation: Starters: -poppadoms and a chutney tray Mains: -Lamb Nepalize -Lamb Naga -Lamb Chops Main (Madras Curry Sauce) Sides: -Boiled Rice -Garlic Nan -Chips Drinks: -Strawberry Mojito -Coca Cola

At last an authentic Indian Bangladeshi , Pakistani restaurant that serves authentic food that are not micro meals . Proper servings not tiny tin trays . Very newly opened, great staff and proper food. Check out the pics does your regular Indians food look this good ? Revisited 18/11/23 on a very busy Saturday night . Absolutely stand by this review and it is in no way written to cause issue to the restaurant just to give you heads up that things have slid quite a bit from our first visit . You refer to costs of items I claimed are wrong I may have got exact cost slightly wrong but shredded cucumber with a blob of yoghurt on top is not riata as for “ Asian salad” chopped tomatoes shredded cucumber and diced onion is not that . I absolutely refute the timings I had to ask a number of times about the food and it was an hour before we got served ! I noticed you observed I only had water ? Is this not normal for eating a curry ? In no way have I anything against you or your restaurant BUT. When things are wrong like sitting us against the toilets when other tables available and not one person said Thankyou or goodbye as we left again my experience from the first time we went had changed . Now please look at my other reviews many from Asian countries and they have been open decades not 12 months and they aren’t looking tired it was an observation one that made my family say don’t bring us here again ! I stand by every word . It’s my review and totally honest . You don’t like criticism then sorry . You will always be busy due to location but far better places to eat . You won’t be seeing us again . And as you can see we eat out a lot ! Unfortunately things appeared to have slipped a bit … owner friendly but rest of staff non existent. Cutlery dropped on freshly cleaned table like you are in a cafe the place itself is starting to look tired but now the food poppadoms £1 each and chutneys £3 that’s over £10 before you start ! Ordered the tasty lamb staff curry I have to say it was tasty . Daal ghosht also spot on . Now the not so good the butter chicken tasted nothing like it and had a taste of sugar and desiccated coconut definitely not butter chicken very disappointed the so called desi salad was micro diced cucumber tomatoes and onion with a bit of coriander! Almost £4 was extortionate. The Riata should be natural yogurt spices mint with diced tomatoe cucumber etc , what was presented was a bowl of finely sliced obviously by machine cucumber with a blob of yoghurt on top and again over £4 is ridiculous I queried it and they offered to change it but all they did was stir it begrudgingly once . This isn’t riata . Rotis cooked ok . Chicken byriani tasty but bland sauce it came with was left well alone . Overall bill of £72 and we drank water ! Expensive and the food has gone downhill I am afraid . Disappointed we paid and left not one of the staff said Thankyou goodnight etc just ignored . I didn’t tip as service was I am afraid poor we arrived at 1845 and got served 1950 I understand you are busy but that’s far too long to wait . I always give honest reviews but I am afraid not the same as it was when opened . Rammed full but I’m guessing most curry houses are Saturday night but this is one very much off my list . A picture says a thousand words last photo is the recent visit and the others from the first visit when it opened .

If you wish to have an amazing service with some great food visit this place. Great customer service and the food is brilliant on time with amazing staff. Highly recommend.

Went for a meal with the work girls, had a lovely time here. Service was immaculate, food was the best I’ve had in a long time. All 5 of us had a great time, biggest plus they serve cocktails. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to return.

Went in on the 1st of Feb took my wife for her birthday meal the service was excellent and food was amazing especially the lamb shank would definitely recommend to anyone to go try the place

Waited most of the year for our Christmas takeawy treat, only to find hardly any chicken pieces in or Tikka Massalas, an all ou pilau rice was watery. Buyer beware ,as take out customer, you are truly not valued. I will not be going back in New Year. They've lost a customer.

Attended for the first time last night and I can say is WOW. The service was truly five star and the team couldn't do enough for you. The food is exceptional and simply the best around. The prices are very reasonable and I already can't wait to come back, well done guys 👏

We have had the pleasure of dining in but have had a takeaway a lot more recently. Both takeaway and dining in equally good. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. We'll done chefs and front of house. 👏👍👌❤️

First visit to this restaurant, and we where so amazed ,beautiful restaurant, fantastic food and such welcoming staff , we will definitely be returning they really do deserve to do well .

This was my first visit to Saffron on the recommendation of a friend. The online ordering was simple and easy to manage with a choice of time slots available. I turned up and told the staff I had come for a collection. I was asked my name and was shown to a seat. The restaurant was very well decorated, and the staff were smartly dressed and welcoming. The restaurant was fairly busy, and there were already people waiting, so I wasn't sure if my order would be ready or not, but there was no indication given by the staff. After 20 mins of waiting, I was asked for my name a second time and asked if I'd like a drink while I waited. The waiter then said it would be another 5 minutes. My order did eventually arrive around 25 minutes after the time given online - which wouldn't have been a big deal if it had been communicated when I arrived, but to just be left sitting there was a little disappointing. The food itself was mostly good. I had a mixed starter - two pieces of chicken tikka, an onion bhaji, and a seekh kebab. The chicken was lean and tender, but the tikka flavouring was quite subtle. Equally, the seekh kebab and the onion bhaji were nice, but the flavours didn't jump out. The curry I ordered was tasty and a good portion size - I'd hoped for a little more spice, but it was still good. The keema naan was lovely and soft and had a great flavour, but I felt there could have been a little more keema in it. The chana bhaji was well cooked, but "lightly spiced" is an understatement - I'm not sure it had any spice. Similarly, the Tarka Daal was very lacking in seasoning. I know lentils are not the most exciting food, but it's definitely possible to elevate them, so that was a little disappointing. If I lived a little closer, I would give it another go quite soon - perhaps on a quieter night - but as it's a 25-minute drive each way to get there, I don't see myself making a special trip there, but if I'm in the area, I would try it again. Overall, a lovely restaurant with pleasant staff and quality food - just a little lacking in seasoning/spice for me (not that I want REALLY spicy food, just something with a bit more punch). I would recommend it if you are nearby - especially if you like milder dishes.

Had an amazing time here with my family. Celebrated my daughters 3rd birthday here. They were very welcoming and also very helpful in order to make it memorable. What an atmosphere Saffron has. The music really has my heart I am now into Bollywood music lol😂. Can’t really trust any other Indian cuisine, Saffron has stole my heart and forever will. Please ask for Mr Alfy, he will make sure your time spent here is worth every penny. Thank you Saffron ❤️.

I went to this restaurant last week with my family and a toddler who they’ve accommodated well for and took care of whilst we ate their excellent food at a great price couldn’t fault anything from their great service to the music and their cleanliness of the place. Would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys an authentic Bengali/ Indian dishes. Thanks to one the waiter named alfy for his great service during our visit.

When we arrived they gave us a table which was not clean so we ordered drinks. Then we ordered poppadoms they arrived we had to ask for plates and serviettes. Same thing with the starters also had to ask for cutlery. the service was rubbish they was more concerned about selling drinks .we arrived at 7pm by 8.40 pm we had only poppadoms and starters avoid like the plague never again .

Actually surprised to see such a restaurant in Oldham. The starter was a king prawn Puri which was absolutely power, lots of flavour and the bread it came on was done very very well. I choose for my main the Gorkali chicken asked for it less spicy which the waiter was happy to do for me. This curry reminds me slightly of a Khariah but even strong flavour and thick sauce which tasted amazing with the nan bread however the nan bread was supposed to be garlic and it didn't taste to strong for me. I think the price of the nan bread is actually quite steep £3.50 as I would normally have two with my meal but then that would be the cost of another starter and almost a main meal! Staff were all very professional and polite as a first time foodie in this restaurant can happily say it will be the regular.

i came to saffron today, the food and service was fantastic, by far the best ive had in a while. the waiters were all friendly and respectful and took care of all our needs, the food was also 10/10.

This is my second time coming to this restaurant, we went yesterday with my family my wife n my 2 kids, Great food, wonderful service from the moment we arrived, never been disappointed, one off the best restaurant in Oldham, the food & service 10/10 Amazing and delicious as always!! Lovely place.Noisy , but was busy so to be expected. Staff are very friendly and very efficient.Starter and drink came quickly but waited a while for main course but to be expected.Was worth the wait.The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty.The bill was very reasonable..I my husband and our 2 friends had a very good experience and as we only live close will come again to either eat in or have a takeaway.

I had for the first time the other night, I actually haven’t ate this type of food in a while since I had a bad experience elsewhere HOWEVER! the food was delicious and in comparison to the blue tiffin for the local people who enjoy the blue tiffin, saffron takes the top spot for me I’ll be ordering again.
