Sabannga Thai Restaurant in West Lothian

My partner discovered this restaurant online while looking for a Thai restaurant and I am glad he did. The food was delicious, good portions and great prices. We ordered the ribs and veg tempura for starters, the. I had a coconut and lychee mocktail as I was driving and this was lovely and refreshing. The service was great, both drinks and food orders taking quickly and the time between ordering and in-between course were just right. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Not Thai food experts but our pet Australian kept us right and ordered a wonderful array of dishes. Not over-priced.

Overall the experience was great. The food was amazing as always and the staff were friendly. There was a slight hiccup where the staff lost our ticket but once we brought it to their attention, they went over and above to rectify it. The food is amazing enough that we would have been happy with just getting our order but the staff gave us a few extras to make up for it, which we very much enjoyed.

Lovely food, service was a little slow but restaurant was very busy. Toilets look like they could be doing with upgrading but won't put me off coming back

Came to celebrate my dad's 80th and we weren't disappointed. Great choice of dishes all cooked to perfection, fresh ingredients full of flavour and well presented. Staff were lovely, even sang happy birthday. We will certainly return. If you have been thinking of trying here I recommend you don't delay.

It was my wife’s birthday, so I wanted to take her somewhere we hadn’t been before, so I had a Quick Look on Trip Advisor and Sabannga had excellent reviews. We gave it a try last night and everything was great. The food was excellent, service nice and friendly and I thought very reasonably priced. We also noticed it served lunch at the weekends, so we will definitely return.

Really enjoyed the food and the service was great. We prefer to have starters and main come at the same time and just bring it out and that was no problem. Extra point for having Singha beer on draft

Lovely varied menu and great prawn crackers. (The spicy brown ones). We all cleaned our plates and enjoyed our pre-theatre trip to this authentic Thai restaurant with a wee touch of Scottish fusion. (Haggis spring rolls.). All good and would recommend.

The owner should renovate and refresh the interior. The rest is at a high level.

Another fantastic visit - wonderful food!!

Great to see this restaurant open again. And it didn't disappoint on our first visit in months. Food was top notch, service was relaxed and just right - no rush to get the next course to you before the first hadn't been finished.

We’ve had many enjoyable dine-in and takeaway experiences here before, always ordering the Pad Thai. However, the three Pad Thais we ordered tonight were hugely disappointing. The dish was smothered in an overly sweet, bright red sauce that tasted more like ketchup than an authentic Thai sauce. Key ingredients listed on the menu—stir-fried eggs, prawns, and vegetables—were missing. The noodles were no longer the thin rice noodles we had previously enjoyed but instead resembled overcooked spaghetti. The chicken appeared to have been steam-cooked and added to the dish at the last minute. Sadly, we won’t be returning—perhaps there’s been a change in management or chefs.

The food was excellent, served quickly and fresh, hot, delicious flavours. The value is incredible, four persons eating two courses, two desserts, coffees, couple of cocktails thrown in there - £122 The restaurant was lovely and busy, our server was a bit grumpy, chucked down cutlery and not very helpful. Also surprised that there was no alternative to cows milk for coffee. Apparently they didn’t have coconut milk available (it’s in 75% of the menu items) Overall couldn’t recommend this wee place enough. Will definitely be back

Food was delightful. Waiting staff were young and a tad over eager so asked around 10 times if we were ready to order. However they were just keen, they were lovely and very polite and after initial order was made they could not be faulted. The restaurant environment is not the most flattering but it is clean, pleasant, comfortable and well located. The staff were lively. The food was warm, diverse, beautifully presented and something slightly different for a change. I really loved it!!!

Lucky to have this wee gem on my doorstep but would travel far & wide to eat here. Nothing fancy by the decor/location but food (most important) and service is tremendous 10/10

Never disappointed coming here, only second time for lunch and the lunch menu and prices were amazing.

Wonderful local Thai restaurant. Superb food at very reasonable prices, and the service is fantastic.

What a great place. The selection was amazing. We went for the “lunch” menu and whilst it was a smaller selection than the normal mains menu it still had plenty to offer. The food is hot and tasty and cooked to order so you know it’s fresh. The staff were great and nothing was a problem to them. The restaurant is nice and clean. This is only our second visit and we will definitely be back. Thank you Kob khun krup

We have had deliveries from here many times and they have always been great. Went in last night for a sit down birthday meal. Everything was great. Food was first class and service was very friendly with great interactions with staff. Will definately be back to sit in. Prices for everything are very good for the high quality of dishes. Singha draft beer is excellent and you just can't beat glass bottle coca cola!

Food as always fantastic well cooked, fresh, looks amazing 👏 it was a little busy so a little bit slow by the servers to clear first course dishes and a little wait for our main to come. I have to say it was quite cold inside and kept my coat wrapped around me, there was a heater going but didn't reach us. The food is what this place is known for exceptional 👌

Spent New Year’s Eve having a lovely dinner , very relaxing

Had a small gathering for my birthday and it was lovely. Food was amazing nobody didn’t enjoy it. Good portions and a quick service. Very clean and tidy. Table service was excellent and on hand to check you are happy with your food and drink. Nothing was a problem very pleasant and kind staff. No pressure to eat up quickly and go you are left to enjoy your meal and relax and chat. Would highly recommend and we will be back again. Thank you for making my birthday special and my surprise birthday cake topped off a wonderful evening.

We love locally but had never been until tonight and now we're regretting not coming sooner! High quality fresh food! You don't usually find this standard of Thai unless in the big cities. The massaman curry was the best curry I've ever had.

Lovley restaurant, staff and food, but service very slow, when we arrived there were 3 other tables of people already eating we ordered ours and it took almost an hour for food to arrive, meanwhile other tables filled and their food served but when we asked when food was coming they said it was cause we didn’t order starters and others did so they were served 1st. Couldn’t understand why that was a problem, first come should have been served no matter what course we were having. Wouldn’t stop me returning because the food was Lovley.

So lovely! Friendly & polite staff with perfect food

My wife and I went for an early meal before going to the cinema and it was delicious. We are not from the Livingston area so we were going by reviews and fancied something a wee bit different to the chain restaurants. The restaurant is situated in the middle of a housing estate and not in the main dining area of Livingston but please give it a try. Yes the heating wasn't working but we soon warmed up and enjoyed a very tasty Thai meal. The staff were excellent and very attentive. We had Chicken Satay & Corn Fritters to start with followed by Thai Green Chicken Curry & a Spicy Thai Beef dish 1 x portion of rice and 1 x Salt & Pepper chips and we were not disappointed. With 2 soft drinks the bill came to £47.80 - very reasonable. We would highly recommened Sabannga and will definately return if we are down in Livingston again.
