Romeo and Giulietta Artisan Gelateria in Hackney

fabulous ice cream - worth the wait - I used the opportunity of the long queue to ask others about some of the more esoteric flavours.

As someone who has lots of intolerances and preferences but sometimes have a craving for the little luxuries in life. This hits the spot. There is a choice of vegan sorbets and they just introduced me to the dark chocolate! One scoop of that with a scoop of the vegan cherry praline is an absolute delicious treat. The only downside is the queue can be horrendous. I supposed that is a good thing for them, but a bad thing if they don't have what you want by the time you get there. (sad). Best ices I've tasted by far.

I was disappointed that after a very long queue under 27degree , my favourite flavour was sold out!!! I thought to put this here so, next time it will be good to write on the windows which flavours are not available. Otherwise, it is the best dark chocolate sorbet I have ever tasted.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit this business for quite a while but I cannot stop thinking of how great the gelato is. I truly hope to be able to come back soon! Merry Xmas to the Gelateria Team (Adrian, Giuliana, John, Akin and Gabriela) and stay safe!

They do not list their ingredients on the website, do they have something to hide? Phoned, was told a colleague would call me back, after many hours, no call. Dreadful customer service.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to review the place, but I have been going here since it opened and it never disappoints. The only downside are the ridiculous queues, which can be really off putting if you are impatient like me. But all that shows is how good the gelato is!

Have always enjoyed the ice-cream here but I won't be going again after a pretty poor customer service experience there today. Called in on the way home from work and ordered an ice-cream labelled 'cheesecake'. The ice-cream had a layer of black cherries on the top, then biscuit and then what looked like vanilla ice-cream. So, I wrongly assumed it was black forest cheesecake. I paid for the ice-cream and had one lick and realised there was another flavour in there - I asked the man serving who told me it was strawberry. I am allergic to strawberries so I suggested that it might be sensible to label the ice-cream 'strawberry cheesecake' rather than just 'cheesecake' with a layer of black cherries and no visible strawberries. I would have been satisfied with an apology and an offer of my money back but instead what I received was an argument back that there was no need for further labelling of their foods as allergens are already listed on the fridge (allergens listed are nuts and dairy). So - just as a warning with anyone with a similar allergy as they said they would not be doing any further labelling: the cheesecake flavour is actually strawberry. I left without my money back to take an antihistamine. And now I have to find another nice local ice-cream place.

Always here trying the different flavours and textures are incredible! Beautiful and you can tell it’s all home made hand selected! Cheap delicious, thanks to the lovely couple who never fail to ask how I am even with a full shop of people!!

The first time I walked past Romeo & Giulietta gelateria I thought it looked promising (it's on the corner of Clissold Road/Albion Road N16) so I decided to try their ice cream and now it has become the only place I want to buy ice cream from. They serve flavoursome ice cream with a good selection of traditional and vegan options (the sorbets are water based and the delicious black cherry praline is made with rice milk). This gelateria has a small seating area outside and if you are lucky and get there at the right time you don't have to join long queues to be served!

This ice cream never disappoint. The taste is super, they have a good range of flavors to chose from and the portion is fair. Usually there is a bit of queue but it s worth the wait. I really recommend it

We are going there twice in a week now days after we discovered the awesome selection of ice creams. Every ice creams have those flavours which we will be expecting before having them. Awesome awesome awesome.

This place is amazing. Huge range of excellent ice cream and sorbet. Love the really dark chocolate sorbet. 5 minutes from my house and I am a regular. Love to get a cone or a takeaway for the freezer....but it doesn't last long. Best ice cream in the area. Yum.

Went for the first time, their ice cream is wonderful, loads of flavours. It was worth the long queue.

For many years I have been visiting Italy for the traditional gelato but now it's on my doorstep in #hackney. Be worn you will have to que up for it

We have been going here every week for about 6 months and it is amazing! All the flavours are wonderful, it is always fresh and the maker and his wife serve you. We recommend the hazelnut, mixed berry, biscokrok and cherry (all of them really).
