Worst ever fish and chips, manager happy to give your money back as they don’t do nothing about it. Maybe the manager needs to look at what their staff are serving and sort it out that could be a lot better.

The chips were soggy and the peas tasted bland. The whole meal itself was not expensive but not served hot. The fish cakes were overdone. Overall your best going elsewhere and avoiding coming here.

£30 for food and they give you a make it yourself!! Rock hard butter for you to spread with a wooden fork. All the food was separate on a tray and you put the meal together that you order. Shocking to be honest

First of all, the place itself is just so run down and every time we've been, it's been pretty filthy. The odd clean table that has no mess on it is due to no one sitting there due to the state of the seats themselves, which are ripped to shreds. Even at quiet periods, the tables are littered with food and rubbish, and sometimes other extras... The food itself is edible, but nothing I'd ever recommend to anyone. The chips taste really cheap and under cooked, and the fish itself is... bland, for lack of better wording. Had to slather everything in sauce just to make it better. Even the staff seem fed up.

Agree with reviews saying the person serving looked like he didn't want to be there. The chips weren't very well cooked, the fish portion soggy and the smallest fish I've seen at a chip shop for a while. Really bad overall

The guy who served us really didn't want to be there, didn't ask if we wanted it in or out but then seemed annoyed when I said I wanted to take out. I've never seen a smaller, sadder or soggier piece of fish in my life for the price. Go off site - Salts is good!

The chips are clearly out of a packet and of low quality and I've had nicer battered fish from Aldi. If you want fish and chips when your at Butlins you'll need to drive off site.

A large portion of chips for the price and really nice curry sauce!

Took a punt despite the reviews and enjoyed the haddock and chips - freshly cooked and wouldn’t say they were oven chips at all. Nice curry sauce too. It’s Butlin’s after all, not a Michelin star restaurant.

We tried the fish, pie, chicken burger, sausage and chips. We were the first people in at 12 and it was still greasy. The quality of the ingredients was very poor. Not expensive but I would pay more for better.

Bought a sausage supper here today . Wasn't impressed by the size of the sausage . My thumb was bigger than the sausage . The chips were ok . Would I eat here again . No. Next time burger king.

Had fish chips and curry. Was served very quickly by a friendly cashier and they were really nice. I was worried as the review’s ain’t so great but very impressed. Will definitely eat here again! Yum!

Great food, Fish, chips, pies, sausages, savaloys, curry sauce and beans all taste great. Prices are not too bad. Definitely worth going too.

table was NOT clean. fake nail on table, so unsanitary. service was slow and food was average. To be expected at butlins. Decoration was okay though .

Atrocious! On night one of our stay at Butlin’s, we decided to eat here instead of Burger King, which was a big mistake. It took a long time to be served, about 35 minutes. I am quite sure that I / we have never been served food of such poor quality, it was awful. At 6.30pm they had no chicken nuggets, WHY?! The chicken burger was disgusting and lacked any flavour. The chips were insipid and barely cooked. The pre-bought pie was OK.

portions are tiny, foods quite pricey, chips are frozen and disgusting, fish was covered in batter and very thin, there was a bit of fish in my beans that had definitely been there a while

If I could put no stars I would have, this place is over priced and underwhelming! Even if I didn’t drive I would walk over 10 mile to a better chip shop than this what a joke butlins get someone else in 🤢

It was below average. Standard oven chips and two small sausages with watery gravy for £8. Tasted OK actually, but the value for money just isn't there. It could certainly be better and looking at older reviews I think the managers are fully aware of this but it's working out for them financially so they're not too bothered. The picture attached is the full portion I received, you can decide if this portion is good 🤷‍♂️ Overall, it would be a 5 out of 10 if I could rate it out of 10.

Chips tasted like cardboard we didn't end up eating them. Portion sizes were very small for price. Fish was over cooked. Will not be eating here again next time we are at butlins.

definitely worst fish and chips we had , fish batter too thick(1cm ) still raw on the inside , scraped it off to eat something as we already paid . chips were dry , we do frozen chips in air fryer or oven that taste always better .

Very oily but kids are chicken nuggets and chips. I thought the price of fish is good but that was until I seen how small it is. They don't clean the tables often enough. The hamburger was totally cold, both meat and the terrible bun - there was nothing inside.

Frozen pub style chips, thought the fish was okay but the chips were really hard to swallow they were so dry.. such a shame, as it's a seaside resort and could easily use fresh potatoes to give that traditional taste. Probably explain why its never busy. There is a real chippy over the road, go there and get a proper portion of chips, wish we did.

I don't know where any poor reviewers ate but, it wasn't at this eatery. I am exceptionally fussy when it comes to food, the service and what I pay for it. My Haddock and chips was perfect. The batter was thin and crispy and not soggy at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Most fish is bought in pre-battered and frozen these days as are the chips in most homes and restaurants charging less than £50 per plate. My wife enjoyed her fishcakes. The kids didn't like the sausages. But, then again, they only like Morrisons Best Butcher's sausages and only the way their Nan cooks them. They devoured the chips though. It was the ONLY dine-out meal we enjoyed during our stay. We ate at Burger King, 3 stars, The Diner, 1 star, The Beachcomber Inn 3 stars and Rock & Sole 4 stars.

Basically frozen supermarket chips and fish thats pretended to be fresh, super greasy but dry food, like as if the frozen food is left to thaw and then cooked. Staff are so young you can't complain. They don't know the tally renumeration either so we was overcharged too for our food. Would not recommend. Left feeling hungry and sick but bloated all at the same time. Only thing worth eating was re-cooked plastic sausages and cold myshy peas. . Should be suut down

Really good fish and chips, not too greasy and a great crunch to the batter. Service can be slow at peak times and they don't seem to be able to keep up with orders and keeping things topped up.

Absolutely awful never eat here fish was bland and is frozen fish and the batter is far to thick the chips are clearly frozen and cheap the sausages were cooked last week and reused and the nuggets were like charcoal and all the sauces were horrible and the staff are the rudest people you’ll ever meet especially Sian they refused a refund ever after speaking to butlins they don’t care offered us a refund for 2 portions of chips on a £72 order which is so expensive if you’ve got two choices of eating here or going hungry please go hungry it’s a lot better than this mess

Really friendly staff and not badly priced for an holiday location, the only thing that wasn't great was the chips are frozen. Don't taste horrendous just not chippy chips.

Always love coming here for fish and chips when we go on our Butlins weekends, portions are very generous more than I could manage. Only down side batter on fish can be abit soggy at times

I don't get all the mindless complaints just miserable gits..I always use this place when visiting on big weekends every year..foods always amazing..no complaints from me..give the place a chance..

Over priced tiny portion size the fish was smaller than my pot of peas and the chips tasted like they came from a freezer

You pay for everything separately. I had kids scampi & chips, small cod chips and beans and it was £13.10. I paid £2 for my portion of chips and it was TINY and my small cod at £5.75 looked sweaty and awful and tasted even worse. Will not be returning while I'm here even though I love fish and chips...

Just been in and got a take out ..fish was amazing.. They left out 2 large chips but still charged £5 for them and no one can be bothered walking bk as were furthest away .check your order...... Battered sausages were hard. No salt vinegar or plastic cutlery as asked for .. Enjoy your fiver 🤷‍♀️

I visited this establishment last Tuesday & will never return The girl behind the serving counter was ok but a bit dizzy. However I will be getting in touch with the head office, the woman (i wont say lady because she wasn't) Verbally shouted & was very aggressive towards me I only wanted to put salt on my chips & the woman completely lost her temper Customers service courses come to mind for staff

No salt and vinegar despite being specifically requested. No markings on packaging to distinguish between cod and haddock which caused confusion. Battered sausages tough and flavourless. chips tasted frozen (a bit of salt and vinegar might have masked this!) All in all disappointing, definitely charging extra as catering to a captive audience (people on site not wanting to trek for a chippy). definitely find a PROPER chip shop nearby, believe me it'll be worth the walk.

Tables not cleared after 30 minutes! staff are lifeless & uninterested gangs of childish teenagers gathering outside of restaurant! Food ok when we finally got served pie & chips took 31 minutes from joining queue to picking tray up 👎🏻 Not a great experience

Chips were nice and curry sauce, the service was good a friendly member of staff called Justin was good, seems to be clean

Chips taste like oven chips and appear to come pre cut and frozen. The batter on the fish has no flavour. Charge a lot for what it is. Think they should go home made and beer battered if wanting to charge that price.

Food wasn’t amazing, and a bit pricey. But I’m giving it 3 stars as the staff member Molly was lovely and she was only a cleaner but was still very nice to chat to when I was ordering my food.
