Quaywest Wine Bar & Restaurant in Derry

Lovely staff and good food would highly recommend

We visited on Sunday night, restaurant is decorated beautifully, I had brie to start, very very small & not cooked in the middle. We had the spicy pasta and steak for mains - both tasty, wee bit too much sauce in the pasta and our side of veg was tasty but overcooked. We had the lime & berry cheesecake for dessert, this was the best part, very tasty. Few tweaks needed but overall a nice meal, good service & priced well.

Food was great. Service was pretty slow.

The employees were friendly and helpful, but this is a noisy restaurant when there are a lot of people. The food was okay. I got two beers (pictured) for the price of one because they accidentally poured two and gave me the second instead of dumping it. Nice! But I barely finished the first one. That's one sad beer and I wasn't surprised to learn that Coors is involved in making it. 👎👎

Food would have been a 5 if it wasn't for day old baby potatoes and reheated kids sausages apart for that the place is are go to.

Came here for our wedding meal and, as always, the service was excellent and the food was just as good. Staff are always friendly, food is good value, drinks are excellent and atmosphere is great. I was disappointed that they’ve changed the vegetarian options, especially taking off the pasta. The new options seem quite lacklustre but the curry was nice.

This was our first meal during our week in Northern Ireland. In hindsight, it turned out to be the best. Reasonable prices, big portions, very friendly staff. This is how you wish for a dining experience to be like. Strongly recommended!

Food and service was excellent.

Booked the boozy brunch at Quaywest at the weekend for 7 ladies. We got seated upstairs in the very stylish restaurant. The cocktails 🍹 started flowing and they were delish, you get 3 with your brunch. We had spicy chicken pasta, lasagna, beef burger, chicken Caesar salad and sides. Everything was delicious and well presented. The service was great too. Will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Eaten here many times and I have never had a meal I did not enjoy, they cater very well for celiac sufferers, thank you, I will be back

Food was beautiful and excellent value for money. It made a lovely change to have food that wasn’t served with tobacco onions, too many restaurants in Derry load their meals with tobacco onions. Staff are so polite, friendly and helpful. I’d totally recommend Quaywest, we’ll definitely be back.

Never felt as small and unimportant, was treated like dirt by the manager Chloe. The waitress made a genuine mistake which was blown completely out of proportion and blame placed on me. Chloe went out of her way to tell me about how I was to blame for a wasted dinner and her attitude was intimidating and belittling. Order wrong twice and didn't feel like eating after horrible encounter. Will never be back through the doors

I ordered the chicken goujons and chips, I received the kids goujons and chips for the adult price. Mediocre at best, the portion size was small 4 chicken goujons and a chip shop scoop of chips. My girlfriend had the southern fried chicken burger with onion rings, she said it was decent but the chicken burger was too big for the little bap. For the price we paid near £40 was quite alot considering I had one kopperberg and she had a diet coke. I don't think I'd return given the things I have mentioned. Staff were decent. I ended up having to stop at a chip shop as I left hungry.

First time at Quay West. Mightily impressed with staff service and quality of food.

Been twice now in space of 2 weeks and I have gotten the chicken and ham pie both times...... I think it's getting tastier. Price is fantastic and place is great looking after their most recent refurbishment.

We had an absolutely brilliant time at quaywest, the food was delicious and the service was top class especially our server Erin! She was friendly and a real people person, easily one of the best meals out we have had this year! Would highly recommend the 50/50! The steak was absolutely delicious!

What a lovely place. Ordered sea bass with side of veg. Flavours were perfect. Up on 1st floor looking down over the barcand an eclectic mix of music playing at the righ volume so as not to intrude. Well done

Went in on a whim with my young family, didn't have a booking, no problem. We were asked to sit and wait for a table (5 minutes at the most) Dave behind the bar had my kids in stitches. The staff are excellent the food was delicious to say the least. Could bot recommend Quaywest enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Brilliant food at reasonable prices both at lunchtime and in the evening. The lunchtime menu, in particular, is outstanding value. Great selection of drinks available. The service is always excellent and all the staff work so hard. There is always a great atmosphere, and Quaywest never disappoints. We visit here on a regular basis and highly recommend that you visit!!!

I first came here in the 90s and have never gotten a bad lunch or dinner. A top-class establishment

Great steak ❤️ Back another night for 50/50 too, gorgeous! Credit crunch dessert is good! We went on a Tuesday, it was busy, staff were calm and friendly despite the hustle and bustle.

We usually love going to Quaywest and are grateful they were able to get our party booked in but the attiude of the staff that served us and the fact we asked for a set menu weeks before and there attiude to us was not nice even towards some of our guests who were disabled told to get up and do things themselves. Not our greatest visit by far

Good family venue took along time to get served with a drink

The staff were lovely, it's the only reason this is getting three stars. The food is not as nice as before and quality has gone down. The kids menu is over priced, for example the pizza is like one that we used to get back in the 80's. The lasagna tasted of Bisto, that was all I could taste.

Website offers 30% off food and drink, the app is not available to download but staff said we’d still get the discount. At paying they refused the discount saying it was already applied, which it wasn’t. Couldn’t be bothered arguing, doubt we’ll be back. Thai red curry had no flavour and zero spice. Side salad served alongside was mostly coleslaw and cheese. Bizarre!

Item missing from main. When requested. Oh we have none left. 2 steaks ordered both overcooked. The fillet steak was one of the worst cuts of meat I've seen. Dessert. Creme brulee with raspberry sorbet and homemade shortbread. Store bought packet short bread, 2 fingers of that. No sorbet, scoop of vanilla served instead. Thai red curry appeared to be microwavable rice. A 20p packet naan and a microwaved sauce. Second strike for this place. Almost laughed when they took payment, didn't ask about service/food received then gave us a loyality card that was promptly binned. Go elsewhere.

Family had great nite food was lovely . .

My 50th birthday yest, my family booked a table for 9 of us, when food came tried my chicken and it was cold so sent it back, after a while they brouggt it back same plate of food was returned after the waitress said shed get chef to cook fresh one, bitterly disappointed. Spoild my bday, left there starving. Came in next day for my cake and spoke to manager, told him what happened and seemed like he couldnt care less. Will not b returning.

Disappointing experience this time Staff are not paying attention to details… When we ordered drinks my mother in law mentioned twice that her drink shouldn’t contain ice, when we received her drink the glass was full of ice, for main course she asked for white wine sauce and they gave her peppered sauce, all adults were served except my 3 year old daughter, we had to wait for over 10 minutes to get her meal. Regarding the food portions are poor, lamb shank was small and If you look at the 50 50 the potion of meat is toooo small in comparison to the chicken.

5 star dining, had a lovely meal with friends this afternoon, the food was delicious and the service genuinely friendly and efficient and real value for money, thanks guys.

Very disappointed in the food. Service and staff were great, but food quality not so much.

Great experience as usual with the exception of one wee thing. We were there early lunchtime and ask the windows were open. It was pouring with rain at the time and it made the place a little bit chilly to sit in. I'm sure the staff has good reason and likely didn't feel the chill, but just literally took the warmth off the atmosphere. Otherwise, lovely food, lovely staff, very reasonable prices. ❤️

Very enjoyable meal here. It's a nice atmosphere and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. A group of 3 we shared nachos for starter, which were pretty good. I had the pork ribs and steak-the steak was cooked as I asked and was good, and the ribs were good too. The chicken melt with white sauce was really nice too, and the chicken cewser was good too.

Very good restaurant! Not really typical, but delicious food and served in large quantities and not very expensive. Remember to look at the days when there are discounts. Lovely staff, big ups to the gorgeous redhead waitress. Good address :)

All round good experience can't fault the staff great job very attentive ...... Will be back the next time we are in the area. Oh! And the food was well cooked good job chefs.

As is typical of Ireland the serves were generous but the quality is poor. There is simply no finess. I suggest going back to basics of cookery. Perhaps Google a recipe for each of your dishes and stick to it. Including sides....I have been here on holidays for 3 weeks and feel traumatised when it comes to meal times. Please go back to basics, keep it simple and do it well.

Table booked for girlfriend's birthday yesterday, absolutely brilliant. Was running late for table, phoned and was greeted by Mark who assured me it wasn't a problem. Arrived and was greeted and sat immediately. Lovely table overlooking the restaurant. Looked after excellently by Kate and KT who were easygoing, efficient and set the tone for the evening. We were quite a late booking so usually the staff would be deflated after a long day but not these guys. Every member of staff smiled, spoke to us with real care and genuinely looked like they wanted to be there. I had the lamb shank and my girlfriend had the pork n bull. Both delicious, both filling and along with two starters, a dessert and some lovely cocktails provided by the excellent bar team only came to a little over £100. Truly blown away and helped make this a special evening. Thank you to the staff and we're hoping to get back soon!

Went with girls for the Boozy brunch, greeted and seated by friendly staff. Cocktails were lovely! Then food served, all great except the veg weren't great, over cooked and sour/off taste, mentioned to staff member who quickly offered an alternative, so all good in the end. Some more cocktails and we were nice and merry. Overall, great experience and good value for 3 cocktails, a main and a side. Would have liked some healthier options on the menu though!
