really tasty food, I've had a mix of dishes from starters, chicken, beef, duck, prawns and the rice is super fresh and tasty. I always go for coconut rice with a curry (red, green or massaman) and it never lets me down. The food is always hot and never greasy, so would recommend to anyone (i've eaten here at least 10 times lol).

Can't understand the good reviews, sorry guys but this is awful food. Mixed starter was random pieces of battered vegetable, dripping in grease. Main noodle dish smelled like cat food and tasted horrid. I lived in Thailand for 10 years and ain't no pretentious food critic. Maybe I just got unlucky but this puts Thai food to shame. 1/10

This is a hidden gem ... above a pub and not easy to spot but oh my what a treat. The staff were friendly, informative and happy to discuss the extensive menu. The food was so fresh and tasty, very reasonably priced and we will defiantly make a return visit very soon 😋

Food lovely and tasty with a lot of green fresh food I went with my friends for a total of four. It was a birthday occasion and I heard about this. The food presented at the time and the quality you expected. I asked for a vegetarian spring roll and another veg dish. Overall the quality was good and we have had a lovely time.

We have ordered many times from here and always been very happy, food is always very nice including our latest order. However, when we placed our order we were informed the price would be around £37, £7 more that we had added our selves - we assumed (although expensive) this was a delivery charge. However when the food arrived we were told the price was £42 and the £37 we were quoted didn't include the delivery. When we queried this we were told that EVERY item had increased by £1 from the cheapest starter to the most expensive main (pure greed). Therefore our order was £12 more expensive than the menu stated. I will not be ordered delivery again, this is a great way to alienate regular customers.

We called for a takeaway menu 45mins before we ordered, phoned the order in and priced it up at £39.10 The prices were the same for takeaway as for sit down meal so it was quite expensive anyway. When my partner went to collect it half an hour later he was charged £47.00 When he queried this, he was told that every item had been increased in price by £1 each. So why were'nt we told this when we picked up the menu or even when we ordered? Cashing in on the current situation or what! The food was okay but very small portions and the sauces very samey. Needless to say it was our first and last visit which is a shame as we are local.

First time we've had Thai, asked person taking order for recommendations, picked up and food was excellent, would highly recommend, all food very tasty

Excellent Attended with my family before the Business of Corona, we were seven in total, some from York and other from north Yorkshire. we all have had the love of this type of food, we all used to eat in Leeds restaurant. We have nothing but praise to the food quality and the service we received. Thank you

i booked here through Groupon the place is above a pub called the fox & hounds in shafton nr Hemsworth west yorks, there are a few stairs so no good for wheelchair or has med/severe walking problem's,on arrival we we're the only 2 (6pm) the room is nice but plain a couple of pictures up, around 6,30 2 more couple's came, BUT the food made up for anything negative we thought, it was hot tasty & presented beautifully, a 3 course meal with soft drink if you go over your price limit you just pay the extra,this is the chicken satay you get 4 chicken skewer's side salad with pepper hot peanut dip & a great mini mix veg dip really tasty,well worth a visit using Groupon or not.

Absolutely love the food here. It's in a strange location (above a pub) but the food is brilliant. It's really well priced too, I do find thai is sometimes pricey but this place is ace. Had the mixed starter and a beef massaman curry. Proper spot on.

First time we have ordered from here it was amazing .. the food was lovely and fresh tasted great would definitely order again or visit the restaurant

This place does some good food but when we went the service was so slow and the 7 of us all ate at different times. By the time the last plate came out some of us had finished half hour before. After the starters, the waitress (who needs some front of house training) asked if we were ready for the bill, no thanks, we'd like the mains please, then we waited 45 mins, they came out in dribs and drabs and one dish was completely forgotten. When the guy who I think owns it asked if we had enjoyed it, we mentioned the wait to which he replied they were very busy. I understand there is only one person cooking and lots of take aways so if you go perhaps best to avoid Saturday; they will after all be very busy. Would have given 4 stars if the service was better as the food is tasty. Service was a one, food a 4, hence 3.

Went last night and had an amazing meal, mixed starter for two followed by a red curry, pad thai and coconut rice. Can thoroughly recommend each dish.

Visited Prissanas last night with 4 friends, had a fantastic meal and drinks, great staff with a lovely and bubbly young lady being our waitress for the evening. Great value for money, will be definitely there again in the very near future.

We have ordered a takeaway from this place after it was recommended to us by some friends. The food was fair to say good. We read that this place does a buffet every last Sunday in each month so today we thought we would give it a try! We knew the restaurant was above the fox and hounds pub, but what a shock when we had to walk through a pub full of drinkers to get to the restaurant!! When we got to the top of the stairs the food was in the corridor where people had to walk past to be seated! I knew then we should have left, but my husband did not like to appear rude. When sat down the young waitress asked what we would like to drink, so I asked to see the drinks menu. They don’t have 1 they just go to the bar so I just ordered a Diet Coke, my husband a pint and my son just asked for water.

Very disappointing from start to finish. Havin walked through a pub to get to the restaurant,we had to walk by the buffet to get to our seats which was like being in someone’s living room probably the worst seating area I’ve seen.they didn’t have a drinks menu said they’d get our drinks from the pub downstairs which was overpriced.which was very unprofessional,when we went up for food it were dregs of food,trays were empty and havin to wait for them filled up wasent acceptable The food was cold and not much to choose from at £14-95 pp we expected a lot more not the best Thai food either dont think will be going back proper let down.

This place is an absolute must for any fan of Thai food. We arrived as a party of 7 and unfortunately just as they were about to close, but they still accommodated us regardless which was amazing considering.

We were really excited to try Prissanas after having the restaurant come recommended and reading all the brilliant reviews. The food was absolutely divine! Reasonably priced and arrived hot and freshly cooked. We can not wait to try some more dishes on the menu.

Hidden gem amazing staff really attentive staff. The food was outstanding best Thai food I have ever tasted even had my main boxed up to have tomorrow. Deffinatly try you will be pleasantly surprised.

Visited prisannas numerous times eaten in and take out delivery too, the food is always excellent and cooked just as you like it! Anna (the chef) if always willing to make whatever you like how ever you like it and does an amazing job every time Hannah (the waitress) is always helpful with the menu and choices she knows everything about all items on the menu wich really helps when it’s hard to decide! Brilliant every time!

Recently went on recommendation, this is the real deal, no quirky decor or fancy silk uniforms, the proof of this pudding really is in the eating, yes you have to walk through the bar of the pub ( no problem) but when you’re upstairs you could be anywhere, very helpful and pleasant staff, a really good menu, and the chef takes the time to come around to your table and ask you if you’re enjoying your food, for any fan of proper Thai food this is the place to go, forget all of the bigger smoke and mirror restaurants ( big dragons, fancy silk clothes and respectful bows ) its all about the food.

As the restaurant is above the Fox and Hound pub, were a little dubious on arrival. When we walked in, there were no other diners but we were greeted warmly by the lovely waitress. The food was absolutely amazing! It came quickly and it was delicious. The waitress was really helpful and we definitely enjoyed our visit.

We ordered a takeaway last night and went to collect our food. We would normally go all the way to Leeds for a good Thai and we are so thrilled that we now have Prissanas only 10 minutes away! The food was gorgeous we wanted a red Thai beef curry and even though it wasn’t on the menu they were more than happy to do this for you. The green Thai chicken curry is the best I’ve had in the UK it was very authentic and had that kick just like in thailand. The portions were huge and the price very reasonable. We can’t wait to visit the Sunday buffet and hopefully find some different dishes to try! A must try restaurant to dine in or takeaway!

Ordered as a takeaway. Delivered within 50minutes. To be honest better food than in some thai restaurants. Ordered 2 soups and 2 mains. Paid 24 pounds for all inc.delivery. Everything fresh and tasty.

We found the restaurant by chance as we usually have a 40 minute drive to Leeds to have a good Thai meal, but never again though as this one is a gem.

First time I have had tai and loved it. The food was fantastic and will definitely go again. So much choice on the menu and what a lovely venue it is. I will definitely be telling people about how good this place is. Keep up the good work.

This place is my new favourite restaurant and take away. We visited last month with friends for my birthday, see photos below. All of use enjoyed our meals, it was like being back in Thailand for us; absolutely gorgeous. There was one waitress who was really lovely and helpful, she advised us of the spiciest dishes on the menu and checked if we were good for drinks often. The chef also came out to make sure we were happy which was lovely of her. Since then we have had takeaway and it’s been just as good, can’t recommend enough. It’s really great prices too.

The wife and her crazy mates with my 2 kids had a belting take away and I had the remains for my supper. Looking forward to a sit down meal in a few weeks 👍

My wife, daughter and I have visited this gem of a place on numerous occasions now with both family and friends. I can honestly say that every single mouthful of food that has passed my lips has been delicious. Between us we have tried most items on the plentiful menu and the people that we have visited with have all, without exception, been equally impressed. We are really fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality on our doorstep and we are equally fortunate to have such a lovely couple running it. Prissana and Andy and their excellent staff deserve your custom and they will certainly continue to receive ours. PJA

A friend has recommended this place on numerous times. Decided on a take away at the weekend. The food was just lovely. Not greasy at all. Flavours well matched. Highly recommended

we visit regularly, went as a last minute thing yesterday, had a set meal, everything was so packed full of delicious flavours. All the staff are amazing and the service is always outstanding

Our 7 year old granddaughter said ‘it’s the best chicken and prawns ever’ after her noodles. We have to agree, the food is beautifully fresh, fragrant, spicy (if you like) everyone is catered for. This is a brilliant place to come and eat, the bar downstairs is a friendly place so gets 5 stars from us!

I went to Prissanas restaurant today and I was surprised for the nice quality of the food, nice environment and very affordable prices. Worth to visit it!

I messaged the restaurant via Facebook requesting they send me a copy of the menu via my phone , Andy said he would drop a menu in , we ordered a take away for delivery , we were NOT disappointed ! The spring rolls were so light and flavoursome and the main meals with coconut rice were excellent ! Definitely ordering again !!!

Our visit was very enjoyable. The food was excellent. We had a green mango salad to start which was 100% authentic. Not on the menu but when we was asked what we liked this was suggested. We then had duck red curry, again very well balanced with fresh Thai basil and pineapple which typically I would not like in my food but the sweetness worked so well. Also had penang chicken this rich sauce was perfection. I would without a doubt recommend this place, brave the bar and ask for the restaurant you will not be disappointed.

10 of us went for a meal to this restaurant on the recommendation of one of the party . Was not disappointed . I have been to Thailand many times and love Thai food . It was authentic , no doubt about that . Staff were very helpful when choosing dishes . Could not fault the service at all . Just ordered a takeaway tonight which was delivered promptly and was absolutely yummy . I would definitely recommend eating here . We will be regular customers from now on. The price is very reasonable compared to other Thai restaurants . All in all a great experience .

What a gem of a place. went on a Friday night with 4 other couples. Only live a couple miles away and had heard good things about the place. Situated above the fox and hounds pub,the restaurant was nicely furnished and bright and easily fitted our party of 10. The menu was one of the most extensive ive seen, massive choice. We were looked after really well by Hannah ,Andy and his chef/wife Anna. The food was out of this world and we havent stopped talking about it since. Ive been to a few thai restaurants that say they are authentic but this place truly is. It deserves to be stand alone eating place not abovea bit. Prices were very reasonable too. All in all , it was a great evening out topped by gorgeous, high quality food and a very welcoming staff. I am definitely going back very soon. First class.

I have been searching for authentic Thai food for years as it's definitely my favourite. The last time I had food as lovely as that in Prissanas was 11 years ago when I lived in Buckinghamshire and I can tell you that I've been very disappointed on many occasions since. .A truly fabulous meal, very reasonably priced and staff who were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I will definitely be going back.

Didn't know it was there and i only live a couple of miles away.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night having read the reviews on TripAdvisor. We live at the complete opposite side of town but love Thai food so were very keen to try somewhere new. The drive over was completely worth it! The food was delicious, well presented, freshly prepared and made from quality ingredients and offered at very reasonable prices.

This little gem is above The Fox and Hounds in Shafton. We've been coming since opening last year and the food is fantastic. There is something for everyone and the Buffet Sundays when they are on are lovely. I cannot recommend this place enough and the takeaway is also perfect. I have no criticism, the food is truly authentic Thai and absolutely amazing. Visited again this evening for Valentines and it didn't disappoint, can't wait to go back!

the food was absolutely first class, everything cooked to perfection and the flavours in the food were so tasty the service from all staff was first class also and good drink selection will be returning in the very near future

We've visited this little restaurant today on the recommendation of friends, We were not let down. We have visited Thailand numerous times and trying to find the 'real' taste is hard. Most places just cannot get the dishes right. After explaining this to the guy that was working there, I'm guessing the owner. He said they will make any dish to the authentic taste. As it was a buffet day and they try to not make it too spicy. I had a chicken pad grapao specially made and it was that good I asked for a second helping. We also went with our 10 month old baby, they offered to make him some plain chicken and chips which I thought was brilliant. Not many places would put themselves out like that. All food was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. We shall be definatley returning in the very near future. Excellent food, excellent staff, and also very good in price.

We had heard about this restaurant from friends who raved about it so booked a table for 5 pm on Saturday evening. We were greeted by the proprietor as we went into the pub, he must have been waiting for us to take us up to the restaurant. The menu was very extensive, in fact quite spoiled for choice. We chose soup, two main dishes and a side of noodles. The ingredients were very fresh and everything was cooked well and delicious. A very pleasant experience and we shall be returning very soon.

Went in with a family member who lives locally; they didn't want to go as there was a Chinese takeway being run from there a while which wasn't very good and the 15 or so 5* ratings on TripAdvisor were a bit suspicious.

Yet another amazing meal at Prissanna's. Perfectly cooked & delicately flavoured seabass, decent portions, great value, lovely people.

Being a fan of everything Thai I know how difficult it is to get the authentic taste in England. Prissanas provides the most authentic experience possible! Excellent food, excellent staff! If unsure just ask Andy or Anna who are more than happy to help!

We were taken to the Prissanas as a birthday treat and I must say it was a lovely experience. The decor is authentic and the staff so accommodating, they can't do enough for you. The food is some of the best outside Thailand, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection and such a wide range to choose from. I would certainly recommend you give it a try.

I've eaten in many restaurants and while this feel restaurant is in it's early stages, I can not fault the empathy of the staff and the quality of the food,

100% authentic, huge portions and a large range of dishes. Had to plate most of it up to take home. Would very much recommend visiting.

Went yesterday 13/12/17 with friends and it was dee-licious. Didn't expect a first class Thai restaurant in Shafton (sorry) but it was fabulous from the moment we arrived - welcome to the food and the service . We will be back. FABULOUS! !! xx

We love it here. The food is the most authentic Thai food you will find outside of Thailand, delicious! The staff are friendly and helpful and Anna, the chef is more than happy to cook the food to your liking. Don’t come here expecting a Leeds 5* restaurant though. The restaurant is above a local pub which you have to walk through. And my only suggestion would be to dim the lights to creat a bit more ambience. Overall a fabulous, friendly, casual, value for money place.

We thought we would try this restaurant as we like Thai food and we wasn’t disappointed with what came to our table,please don’t be put off by having to walk through the pub bit first to get to the where the restaurant door is,as you cannot here the pub when you sat at your table,we ordered a Mixed starter for 2 people on Friday evening and then a few main meal dishes I had Batterd fish in a sweet and sour sauce and a chicken pad Thai and a chicken salad and it was very good we will definitely be going back again soon Andy made us feel very welcome and his wife came out to see if the food was okay with what she had cooked 10 out of 10.

Been to the Prissanas Thai this evening and it was brilliant. The chef Anna and husband Andy are great hosts and very attentive.

We went to this Thai restaurant after hearing good reviews, but in all honesty we didn't expect much.

As the previous reviewer said, you do wonder where you are going when you walk into the pub underneath the restaurant. Hidden away upstairs is this restaurant. The menu is extensive. We ordered the set menu and weren’t disappointed. All the food is freshly cooked and can be adapted to personal choice for spice. Service was very good and the drinks were good priced. We would visit again.

We called here for dinner one night after a friend recommended it. We did wonder where we were going as we walked in as the restaurant is above a pub but we were pointed in the right direction and found where we wanted to be.
