Had a takeaway from this legendary restaurant to help celebrate my birthday.Food was delicious and top quality. We had Salmon and Prawns in Lino sauce, Chicken Al Arabiata ( tomato and chillis) and garlic bread.Mains came with sauté potatoes and vegEverything was top notch. Highly recommend!

We ordered the lockdown deal of chicken , salad , chips and garlic bread it came with a bottle of pop for £20 . The chicken is available with a marinade sauce . We chose garlic . The food was absolutely lovely tasted fresh and well worth the cost . Food was delivered to us locally . Supporting local independent businesses is ever more important at the moment . Lovely food .

Just had a fab lunch at this lovely spacious and characterful restaurant.We had mushrooms and sardines to start followed by Polo Princess and Polo A La Pep for mains. Mains came with sauté pots, peas and carrots.Side order of fresh baked garlic bread... washed down with a glass of red and San Miguel.Everything was lovely... plentiful, well cooked and piping hot.Very good Covid safeguarding in place and attentive staff.Very reasonable 2 course lunch menu !Recommended !

I went to vesuvio Swansea to celebrate my birthday with friends. The service was great. in a group of 13 adults and 7 children,the satisfaction with the food was unanimous. Good food, hygiene and service.

Absolutely Awful! Just had a Saturday night take out from Pizza Vesuvio, two lasagne and garlic breads. The lasagne was tasteless with congealed cheese on the top and the garlic bread was rock hard without a hint of garlic. Definitely not freshly cooked, extremely disappointing and a waste of £25.90.

Family meal out during eat out to help out, beautiful food had by all! Husband even took everyone’s leftovers for his dinner the following day. Great staff too

Food is simply amazing, friendly staff and service is just too good. Authentic taste of italian cuisine. Freshly prepared meals and we would definitely recommend steak on the stone, and amazing pizzas cooked on wood burning oven are simply divine! We will definitely come back! Highly recommend!

Table for three upstairs in these Covid days worked very well for us. Service was friendly if not a tiny bit haphazard to start with but this added to the charm.Food was tasty, I had sea food pizza and this had plenty of seafood and good flavour. Veggie lasagna was delicious I was told by my daughter.Starters and main course left no room for dessert. Would recommend this restaurant.If I was to criticise it would be the slightly too loud 80’s music, not a whiff of Dean Martin.

Went to this restaurant on Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The food was excellent. I had the home made tomato soup and the chicken in peppercorn. It was piping hot and very tasty. My wife had the scampi and the sirloin steak. Again this was very good. The waitresses were very polite and the service was very good. Will definitely go back there.

Been wanting to try Versuvios for a while as I've heard good reports about it, well where do I start. Firstly took a while to be seated and when we were we were shoved in a very brightly lit corner with a very sticky table and took about 25 minutes for our order to be taken. My husband had spag bol which he said looked as if it's out of a jar and has better at home (nice compliment for me lol) and I had the mushroom & chicken risotto which was bland and tasteless even after adding some salt, I did tell the waitress when she eventually came to ask if everything's OK and she did ask if I wanted something else but as my Husband had nearly finished his meal I didn't bother.We had the garlic bread with chorizo and that was very nice.We went on a Wednesday night on the 'Eat Out To Help Out' scheme so maybe that had something to do with it and they weren't making an effort maybe? But we will definitely not be returning.

Me and the kids had their set menu lunch and it really was superb. Great staff, lovely food and good portions. Never been before, but although I took advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme, would very happily return at their more than reasonable full prices.

Visited at the spur of the moment with my husband and managed to get a table in the nice outside eating area. We have visited this restaurant before and have never been disappointed with the food. All appropriate systems in place for outdoor eating and the environment was safe and clean. Staff as usual were efficient and helpful. We shared the Brie starter followed by lasagna and vegetable pasta. Both were delicious. I would highly recommend this independent restaurant.

Can't express how delicious this was.Tried the special cocktail to, nicely decorated and lovely taste.Would highly recommend garlic chorizo and mozzarella bread ( like a small pizza) amazing taste.I had the chicken with peppers mushroom in wine, my partner had spaghetti marinara.Only negative thing I would say is obviously with the prawns you need to break them and no bowl or wipes to wash you hands. Other than that perfect meal and on the government help scheme offer so nice and affordable.We will return x

My Family and I ordered 7 Sunday Lunches for delivery on 12 July 2020. 7 beef lunches were ordered as well as 1 starter. They were delivered on time and were lovely and hot. Unfortunately the food was awful. The beef was very fatty, the vegetables were almost raw and the potatoes had no taste at all as well as this the gravy was like water. Very disappointing as I have eaten in the restaurant before and expected the same high standards. Wont be ordering again. Costly experience which left us all still hungry.

Amazing food as always. Decided to order a take away pizza due to covid and it was as good as if I was eating in the restaurant itself. Have been a costumer for a while and never a reason to complain. Really good.

Fast friendly service, free bread, large tasty starter, excellent mains . The only gripe I have is the price of the soft drinks. We will definitely call again soon.

This is the first time I’ve visited P.V since the makeover and wow, what a difference. The decor is really fresh and modern, yet it’s retained all the classic dishes that we loved before.PV is a bit of a hidden gem, as there aren’t any non-chain restaurants anywhere nearby. With its friendly staff, value for money and tasty food, I will definitely be back!PS, The pollo princess was so tender and at this price, it’s really exceptional - would definitely recommend. Also, the salt bread is additive.

My second visit here, we were given a complimentary bread basket upon our arrival as last time. We had 2 Vesuvius soup and a garlic mushrooms for starters, my soup was spot on!For mais we had t-bones from the special board and a seafood platter, it was all perfectly cooked and very well presented.No desserts as we were out of capacity for more food.Thank you for the amazing service.I must return when visiting the city again.

This is my first time here since it changed hands a year or two back. Food and sauces well up to scratch, the two pizzas served to our party were acclaimed as excellent. The junior member of our party wolfed down a pizza that looked big enough for her to sleep in. The Swordfish in a tomato and veg sauce was very good, the fish cooked correctly, the sauce well balanced and creamy. The appetiser bread basket was as ever pretty good.

My grandfather decided he wanted Italian for lunch. I had a latte to start before I ordered of the lunch menu. My grandfather ordered bread for the table which absolutely stunning! I had the cheesy garlic bread as a starter and extremely surprised how big it was and tasted absolutely gorgeous! I then had the Mafiso Pasta to start which was cooked in a chilli tomato sauce with salami, chorizo and penne pasta on the lunch menu for £11.95. My grandfather had the bruschetta to start and he ordered the fish cakes. My mother had the meat rissoles and they both said tasted amazing! They ordered of the main menu so the full cost was about £45 but again really good food!

Small, cosy pleasant environment with adequate simple lunch menu to meet most tastes. Friendly service to take drink, then food order. French bread given as standard before starter. Starter of mushrooms with tomato sauce to start which was hot and tasty. Main of chicken in white wine sauce arrived. Hot and tasty. Only criticism was plate of veg should have been bought out sooner as about 3 min wait. Plenty of food. Didn’t go out hungry. Reasonable prices. Please don’t increase as this is about right without pricing people out.

Work Christmas party. Very welcoming & relaxed atmosphere. Good service & excellent range of food. Although not enquired ab in advance, the chef was able to cater for a vegan diet - adapting the vegetariana pizza with vegan cheese.

Despite the restaurant being busy with a company function the meals correct and on time. The waiters and waitresses done a very good job considering how hectic it was.

Enjoyed a set lunch menu. Sardines big and very taasty, The main course was chicken and mushroom sauce. Chicken coukd not have been more tasty or flavoursome. The sause was delicious and full of muxhroom . Profiteroles so very choclattie and creamy

Called on a very wet Saturday lunchtime, no problem getting a table. 2 course lunch was good value, my spaghetti bolognese was huge! Fungi vesuvio starter was nice an spicy, and we left feeling very full.

Visited the for the first time. Went to dinner in Vesuvio Restaurant with my boyfriend, we had 2 pizzas and a bottle of red wine, we also had desserts and coffee. It was all beautifully prepared. Thank you very much.

A varied menu. Only a few months ago this was an Italian restaurant but has been taken over by Portuguese who have introduced new food choices to an already exceptional list of foods.

A long planned date with friends turned into a 3 hour evening meal with continuous request from taking orders, requesting drinks, clearing table and finally settling the bill. The show last night was run by young teenagers with no comprehension of service. Clearly the management change has been to the detriment of this iconic place. PS the food was OK.

Early lunch with easy parking nearby. Good welcome and quick service. The lunch menu had varied choices with the full menu also available. All the dishes were well presented, looked good and tasted even better. Portion sizes were more than adequate, so no one should go home hungry! My only slight complaint was that the music was rather loud and possibly conversation stopping -- people on their phones didn't notice!! The total cost was a very acceptable £46 for two people including drinks and coffee. Two course lunch £12 per person - excellent value.

We’d been here before, but a few years back, and our Friends suggested Lunch there.

Had not been to Pizzeria Vesuvio for a few years, went with 3 other ladies one of whom is a regular customer and loves it there. Was a bit apprehensive as I never really liked the food before, learned that it is under new management and I can say that my experience was definitely different. It deserves top marks for everything, service, food and atmosphere. We all had a good night and will be visiting again very soon.

Lovely atmosphere here, lovely staff & the food is outstanding... i had pasta with chicken, bacon & prawns really creamy & tasty, we all had pasta dishes & all were very nice indeed ! Will def be returning soon xx

My family and I visited here recently. We were a bit apprehensive as we had heard it was new ownership. No need though, food was very good and hot. I was a little disppappointed to find a meatball in my lasagne though !

Having been a regular visitor to this restaurant for many years I was disappointed when they closed a few months back. We saw it was open again with new owners and decided to try it, we were not disappointed, food was excellent and plenty of it. Very similar menu to the previous business . We will be back!

This restaurant was a long time favourite so hearing it had changed hands we were keen to find out how it was. First the positives, I love the make over, the decor and furniture is a good improvement and the new outside seating area is fantastic. Also my husbands prawn pasta was delicious. The negatives, the mixed rissole starter was ok but probably bought in frozen , over cooked and hard, the salad that came with it wasn’t dressed and they needed a dip of some kind to go with it. The pollo alla vino Bianco was sooooo overly creamy it was like dessert there was no subtlety to the sauce at all. The wine was very over priced as was the whole meal , a shared starter , 2 main courses and 1 bottle of wine for £70 ! Yikes , sorry I won’t rush back

As a group we decided to eat here for my birthday lunch. When we arrived there weren't many people there and we did think we might have made a mistake, but to be perfectly honest we had a lovely time The music was a little loud and we asked if it could be turned down slightly as several of our party wear hearing aids and background music makes it very difficult for them to hear but the staff were lovely and did as we asked ver graciously.

Went last night with my fiancé to finally visit this restaurant which my friends been talking for a while. We never expected this place to be so busy, thankfully we got a table in their terrace, I had a T-bone steak from their Special Menu and she had a fillet on the stone, we never had more tender meat! We also enjoyed the homemade Sangria, definitely a place to come back.

First time in Wales, came across this place through recommendation from our AirBnB guest. Went twice in 3 days! Best Pizza we had in years! Thank you

Excellent pizza; bife na pedra five stars. Highly recommend. English; Portuguese; Spanish and Italian spoken. Great for parties or family venues.

We have been coming here for years, but the new refurb has ripped all of the charm from the place. We came at 5 and there were not many staff, and those that were there were invisible. Food was average. Great shame

I can only say that it's fantastic. Food amazing fresh and tasteful. Clean and amazing service. This place is a real find. The manager is fully on board and egar to help. He has great hospitality love it be back Every day. Good luck for the future thank you Ron and Lynne

I don’t even know where to start. Amazing atmosphere, attentive staff who make you feel like at home and the food which could be competing with homemade Italian dishes. Thank you for the exceptional service and bringing a little bit of Toscana to the UK! We will definitely be back!

We’ve recently had a very enjoyable evening at Vesuvios . The food was amazing and although all staff were pleasant and professional we have to give Deano a special mention as he went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely time .Thank you, looking forward to our next visit already .

Super tasty, friendly staff, reasonable prices and even boxed up what we didn’t eat so we could take it home. Would go again. Only thing I didn’t like was the salty bread that used to be my favourite was cold and a bit hard.

I went 1st thursday of April with some friends , one of those came from spain to visit swansea, and was really nice, the food is supreme, and the meat on the stone is lovely. I RECOMMENDED , i will come back soon as posible. the staff is very friendly and ever with a smile on the face

Fancied a pizza so popped in with a few friends in the early evening. The atmosphere was nice, and our drinks we served quickly. We all ordered Pizza and they were presently nicely and tasted great. All round enjoyed a lot and would reccomend!

I know this establishment has gone through a change of management and has suffered some teething problems, as I have myself previously experienced, but if last night was anything to go by they have turned this around and then some! The service staff were all amazing, attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, always making sure everything was ok, and whether wanted more drinks etc. The food was very, very good. Absolutely huge prawns in spicy sauce to start which was so tasty along with fungi vesuvio and all the other starters we had. Mains were equally amazing, and it is no exaggeration to say the steak was the best I can remember having in a long, long time. The pizza and lasagne were also amazing. Time between receiving starters and mains was quick. I will definitely be returning and would encourage anyone thinking about going stop thinking and get yourself down there to experience for yourself.

This is the first time I’ve been to the restaurant under the new management. I was pleasantly surprised by the renovation which added some life to the restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and seated us at our table straight away. We received fresh bread which was glorious. I had shrimp rissole to start and it tasted amazing, everyone enjoyed theirs starters. For a main meal, I had a pizza. The new pizza chef has given me the best I’ve ever tasted, it was out of this world. My family had a variety of pasta and also chicken dishes which they thoroughly enjoyed and were cooked to perfection. Everything was unbelievably clean. Highly recommend this place! Will be coming again!

I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 something years, and it had always been a firm family favourite. I visited for lunch today with my partner, and was surprised to walk in and find that the front desk area had all been redecorated and the iconic mural on the wall has been painted over with off white paint to match the rest of the walls. We weren't sure why they had suddenly changed the interior and why there was all new staff, but as we now know it has come under new management, and they have absolutely ruined this restaurant. We were taken to a table and read through the menus which consist of virtually the same dishes as they used to whilst we waited for our drinks and bread to be brought to the table. When the bread arrived, it wasn't the delicious fresh bread we have come to expect, but stale ciabatta bread with burnt crust, and cold, hard fat spread instead of actual butter. The starters arrived, and my shrimp rissoles were burnt, and the filling was literally pureed shrimp which was disgusting. The main meals arrived for which I had higher hopes but I was disappointed even more so. My partners beef ragu tasted like a jar sauce, and although the beef was tender, it was quite obviously burnt. My spaghetti was literally frozen chicken (yes I repeat, FROZEN chicken), bacon and pieces of what was clearly cheap frozen shrimp in cream. The chicken was chewy and tasted awful, the bacon was fatty, the shrimp was tiny and obviously frozen and the sauce was so rich I left around 2/3 of my meal. I ordered a side of mozzarella salad for £4.95 which was supposed to be tomato, mozzarella and olives. It actually consisted of Florette packet salad that you would get in a supermarket, 3 cherry tomatoes halved, 5 olives and possibly 3 slices of mozzarella that were in chunks. All in all I left the restaurant angry that I was about to pay almost £50 for 2 meals which were so far below what I was expecting from this restaurant and half of which wasn't eaten, and painfully disappointed that the place I have so many fantastic memories of eating incredible food at has been reduced to serving frozen food at higher prices than it ever used to charge. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! It's nowhere near worth the price they now charge, and although the new staff were pleasant, the chef was absolutely terrible. They would be better served changing the name of the restaurant, and at the very least changing the menu because by trying to replicate what the old management used to make is simply not working for them, and they will never be able to win over all of the regular customers that the previous owners will have made. I don't see this restaurant being open for business much longer with the terrible food made with appalling produce that they're churning out.

Read the reviews and as this was close to where we were staying decided to go for dinner. What a gem! Food, wine and cofffes, one liquor, alll excellent. Plus the srvice and friendliness of the staff. All finished off with a complementary limoncello.

I went here recently with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised as I have never been here before! Good sized portions, food tasted very nice! Staff was also very friendly. I would definitely recommend. Will be coming back here for sure.

I went there for a meal with some friends and i have to say this place is amazing. They got a lunch menu two courses for 11.95£ i choose for starter the funghi Vesuvio and main the grilled salmon just Devine. After a few weeks i went but for dinner were i experience of amazing king prowns whith garlic butter and the pure gold is the stone fillet were you cook the way you liked in a volcanic hot stone just majestic.Nice deco and nice atmosphere see you soon.
