Pizzeria La Gondola in Isle of Anglesey

There was an efficient Telephone order, agreed exact timing for pick up, and all were ready and hit. We each had delicious pizzas and sides. Highly recommend

Been visiting here for years now when in Holyhead seeing family as my cousin seems to always choose here on takeout night. It’s always been hit and miss if I’m honest, Iv had a few ok pizzas from here but sometimes it’s greasy, sometimes it’s burnt, sometimes it’s just tastes weird and disgusting. Iv always found them to taste cheap with crappy toppings but on this occasion we managed to get all of the bad I mentioned above. I will avoid this place like it has Covid-19 in the future it’s disgusting and the staff are pretty rude and unfriendly.

had a pizza delivered saturday night not sure how they managed it but the pizza base was burnt and the top wasnt cooked the pizza box tasted better than the pizza .

Have given this place a few chances but always let down. Very soggy base and cold ... Why do I bother?! Poor show ...

Not proper fish and chips, frozen fillets you would get in a supermarket, waited ages for a horrible meal which went in the bin.

Tried this for the first time as we just wanted a pizza to takeaway while on a break in Anglesey. Quite frankly it was awful. After 2 slices each we ended up chucking the rest in the bin. The bases were think and stodgy, the topping was piled on so much it had slid off and was stuck to the box. I have eaten plenty of good takeaway pizza over the years and this really isn't good. For anyone thinking of trying it ... don't, you will regret it!

They offer an amazing deal a 7 inch pizza any toppings chips and a can of drink with about 10 choices cooked fresh and while you wait you see staff continually cleaning down surfaces while they prepare more pizzas in the very busy takeaway. Staff very friendly

I have been frequenting La Gondala since the late '90s and have yet to find a better pizza anywhere. It seems that the negative reviewers would rather have the typical pre-cooked base type rubbish that the nearby kebab shops offer... not me... La Gondala prepare pizzas and pizzas only... and this focus clearly shows, as they're head-and-shoulders better than anything else available locally. 11/10... can't be beaten.

Just ordered 3 pizzas from here and they were average (the first 2). Mine was the worst and was burned to a crisp. Unfortunately we walked to collect and didn’t see it until we got back to our hotel otherwise it would’ve gone back to them instead of straight in the bin.

Food is okay but they don't always open until the stated time. Website said ceded at 12:00 on Mondays but were closed at 22:20. Not great if you've wasted your time and money getting there, this has happened more than once. Staff can sometimes be rude and unhelpful.

Attended gondola tonight 26/07/18 website says open until 0200hrs but closed with blinds closed & lights off 2235hours

La gondola has got me through some of the most horrendous hangovers know to man over the years. Holyhead would be a much sadder place if this place ever closed . I can’t ever having a bad pizza from this place in 20 years.

He ordenado de esta llevar antes y no estaba mal, nada especial pero la entrega en el puerto. Se negó a entregar al puerto esta noche por algún motivo y colgó el teléfono después de pedirme que "mantener en un minuto" no es recomendable para cualquiera. Personal despreciable.

Good tasty pizza with a nice thing base and fresh toppings all made to order. The chicken and chips wasn't great though, all the coating had fallen off the chicken and chips were a bit soggy. Good value though and friendly staff

Dry, quite burnt, topped with obviously tinned produce, which tastes like errrrm - tinned produce! Those sliced mushrooms and other dastardly things you find in a can of Tesco Value. Cheap Cheese you cannot taste - forget Italian here, who as we know love their cheese. Sparsely topped and arranged like somebody could not be bothered distributing the toppings evenly. I once bought a Pizza hut pizza which appeared, upon opening, as if a wild alley cat had cut it up, but boy it was tasty and so I forgave but I shall not go here again.

The staff are always very friendly when I collect my takeaway here and there are places to sit whilst you wait too which is great as not many places do have this. Pizza's are always fresh out the oven and they are delicious!

Worst pizza Ive ever had!!!! We used to always get a pizza from here and always superb so because i havent been in a while thought id give it a go. After finally getting home travelling 20 odd miles i open the box to a burnt pizza. How they could even allow this to be sent out is a joke!! Girls behind the counter seemed more interested in talking about lads than concentraiting on cooking. Will not be going back, vile!

Great pizza prepared on the counter right in front of you immediately after you order. Wide range of toppings and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend. Great pizza at a very reasonable price.

No frills pizza shop with a nice selection of pizzas. We visited late on a midweek evening and it seved our needs well, inexpensive food and a table to sit down and eat. The menu encourages you to pick your own toppings and the cheerful owner add me a tasty American Hot. Handy if your hungry !

La Gondola has been at it for years. Run by a local family of Italian origin the pizzas have something of a home cooked feel to them. Nice.

This place takes some beating when it comes to take away pizzas. Fabulous crispy bases topped generously with a good selection of ingredients. Good value pizzas and excellent service make this a favouritewith us.

we will not go anywhere else we order about 3-4 times a week and we are never disappointed. Overtime we go on holiday or away all we think about is when we get home, we cannot wait to get a Pizzeria really is absolutely amazing

I'm part off a group of kayakers that travel to Wales regularly and it has become a ritual/tradition to visit La Gondola Pizzeria before we catch the boat back to Ireland. I can only say that this is the best pizza I have ever eaten. Quaint spot, friendly staff and gorgeous pizza. Credit to Holyhead and Wales. We'll be there again soon for a bbq based beauty and a bargain. La Gondola - Never change

tried this one out as there was a large queue in our usual one , not much choice of toppings , and skimpy amount on it when we got home , pretty disappointed

We were "just passing through" Holyhead between our Hadrian's Wall adventure and a few days in Dublin. We decided to walk down the street from our B & B to see if we could find a beer. There was a tiny hole in the wall bar, and we went in. There were only two women there, very friendly, and we sat with them. Turns out, they were the wife and daughter of the founder! We were hungry, having walked 14 miles that day, and then hopped the train from Carlisle to Holyhead. Why not a pizza? They got our order, called their sister who delivered it right to the bar!!! it was GREAT pizza!!!! If you've got a few minutes between your train and your ferry, honestly, this is as good as pizza gets. Two blocks or so from the terminal. You won't be sorry!

Probably the best pizza I have ever tasted. Much better than Pizza Hut! I highly recommend this takeaway! They even do fresh chicken wraps and burgers. The prices are very cheap and affordable. I always buy food there after work at night. They close around 1am on Friday and Saturdays which is handy for most peopls

Super pizzas every time. They are open early until very late and no matter what time we order they have a fast service and they deliver too.

have to say this was a lucky find... after getting lost in snowdownia - we found this little gem while waiting for the ferry. none of us were disappointed... great value.. very tasty and fresh.Have the whole Italian decor going as well!Will be back!!

Der Laden ist wohl nicht dafür gedacht, daß man sich reinsetzt sondern nur Takeaway. Trotzdem gibt es 2 Tische an denen man sitzen kann. Die Pizza war in Ordnung, hatte schon schlechteres gegessen. Das Ambiente ist aber absolut grauenhaft bis geschmacklos, nicht besonders sauber. Nach Besteck und Gläsern für die Getränke mussten wir extra fragen. Das war ein Fehler: Die Gläser waren extrem schmutzig. Es war tatsächlich noch bräunlicher Spülschaum in einem Glas. Ich habe dann doch lieber direkt aus der Dose getrunken. Keine Ahnung wie die ein Hygienesiegel bekommen konnten welches an der Scheibe prankt. Da würde ich nie wieder essen gehen. REALLY DISGUSTING!

As pizzas servidas são feitas na hora e muto saborosas. O atendimento é feito por pessoal atencioso. Possibilidade de se levar a pizza para comer em casa.

Everytime we hit Anglesey we come here. It is a great value takeaway and the pizza is yummy. We always get a 16" thin crust with our own toppings and thats only 12 pounds or so. They are cooked in front of you and prepared in front you made freshly to order. They arent traditional italian but they are delicious perfect with a saturday night film. The staff are always chatty and we dont go anywhere else for pizza.

Very basic pizza takeaway, friendly service. Strange very limited menu. Having read the other reviews it is hard to believe they are about the same place. If you buy pizza and hope for light crisp base, traditional toppings with italian mozzarella cooked in a wood fired oven, the pizzas you get at La Gondola will be horrendous. If however you like soft doughy base, lots of topping with the emphasise on quantity not quality all covered in a heavy slab of melted tasteless cheese this place is paradise. Not to my taste.

I don't usually use this takeaway and now I wish I hadn't.... Probably the worst Pizza I have ever had, the base was soggy and the toppings didn't taste cooked...Delivery took a long time... All in all a very bad experience, I would steer clear there is far better out there.

I have food from here quite often, quick service, friendly staff, and the best pizza I have tasted, highly recommended.

Where to start? Ordered a takeaway which took ages to arrive despite it not being busy and it being delivered locally. My pizza was burnt, couldnt eat the crust of it because it was black and rock hard. It was also so greasy that it actually soaked through the base of the box and to top it off the toppings where not even fresh, tinned mushrooms, froxen peppers and onions. How this place is still in business with two other far better takeaways on the street i dont know
