I hate sourdough...well I thought I did!OMG I didn't know pizza could taste this good, I had the fungi pizza Saturday past and I'm still thinking about it and craving another one. Also they managed to put veggies into My 10yr old Son, he ate a pizza with onions on it and loved it. This never happens! If you haven't had one your seriously missing out

Prepare for an extremely long wait if there are more than a dozen people or so to deal with. Left stood outside with an order number for half an hour whilst rest of family wondered off to get on with the rest of the day, I started to feel slightly ridiculous more than anything. Pizza was tasty enough in the end but won't be making this mistake again.

Best pizza I’ve ever had !! I recommend the pepperoni pizza bc the pepperoni slices are genuinely the best I’ve ever had in my life. The queues are long on a Saturday evening so be prepared to wait, totally worth it though, and I think the long queue always says enough about the place, nice staff and absolutely delicious. You can smell it before you see it and it’s enough to lure you in. 😋

I’ve been coming to Newcastle for years, why am I only trying this now!? Absolutely amazing, authentic ingredients, genuine taste of Italy. My wife are in full agreement, nicest Pizza we’ve ever had, and she’s a NEW YORKER! We had the Meat Feast 11inch & 7 inch Garlic Pizza Bread with Garlic Dip & Hot Honey Dip. I never mind paying the money when the quality is there, try this place out it’s a hidden gem, but won’t be for much longer!! Can’t wait to come again 🍕

Amazing pizza !! It’s my birthday and I had a very particular craving for proper pizza with pepperoni and hot honey and BOY did they deliver. Delicious and we will be sure to be back for more! The owner was lovely and stopped to chat with us— gave us lots of tips of best bakeries around Northern Ireland and some delicious mint peach iced tea. The staff was lovely and had great recommendations for the area.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!! Stopped by in the afternoon and tried a sample of margarita- immediately knew we were coming here for dinner! The dough is so good and I highly recommend the pepperoni with hot honey!!!!!! Not only is the pizza top quality- the customer service is excellent!!! The people working set up benches inside so we weren’t in the rain and were some of the kindest people!! 7” was only £7 and worth the money- was full after!!! Highly recommend again and again. A nice change from the “tat” known from Newcastle 🤩🤩🤩

Went to Pizza Umami on Newcastle Promenade, service was speedy & super friendly. I got a pepperoni pizza with hot honey dip and my friend go prosciutto crisp, both were 10/10! Couldn’t fault and will be back!

This pizza is genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had. The guy working the counter was super knowledgeable about what was/wasn’t vegan and was really friendly. They make their own seitan pepperoni which is delicious and super smoky. The vegan cheese they use is great too, doesn’t have the usual vegan cheese taste and melted really well. 100% recommend this place. We’ll definitely be back.

Street side pizza place. Street parking only. Would be great for walking around downtown and seeing the sights. Not a dine in location but great food.

Here no doubt serves the best pizza in county Down !! Definitely one to try if you're a pizza lover. Super friendly service also. We travel from Newtownards and its always definitely well worth the journey!! Keep up the good work guys 🥰🍕

Not your everyday takeaway pizza. The staff are friendly and effective at their jobs. Plus they make a damn tasty pizza! I got 2 last time, one on recommendation from the owner and did not regret a thing. 100% will be back next time I'm in Newcastle!

Amazing pizza and amazing people! So friendly and accommodating especially after a mistake I made, couldn't do enough for you. The pizza was amazing, best I've had, all cooked fresh in front of you and filled with flavour! Lots of vegetarian options plus gluten free, dairy free etc. Really impressed, 100% recommend and will be visiting again.

Best sourdough vegan pizza I’ve ever had. The crust is perfection and the vegan cheese is amazing. The staff is also trained and knows to use clean utencils when cutting my vegan pizza without having to remind them every time. Highly recommend.

Had been told it was “the best in Northern Ireland” and have to agree - the dough is perfect. I had the pepperoni and all elements tasted great, right down to the garlic dip. And no queue!?! It’s placed very unassumingly hatch-style on the street. Worth travelling for and completes a day in Newcastle very nicely.

This is my second time coming to this place as the first was about alright so I wanted to give it another go, after sitting outside for about 25/30 minutes waiting the staff were kind enough to give me a free Fanta and dip for the wait which I really respect! However.. the quality of the food may aswell not have went and waited, the entire base of the pizza swimming in grease to the point of actually dripping off while the base ended up really soggy and wet, couldn’t pick up a slice without everything falling apart and all over the place and the base up to the crust is wet and mushy to touch, very very very disappointed as me and my father both had very much high hopes for this place especially on our last day of visiting Newcastle before going home again!

One of the best pizzas in Northern Ireland, amazing sourdough base, fantastic high quality toppings and friendly service . The dude made us a second pizza for free because he wasn’t happy with the base, shows proper care about his craft. Highly recommend

To start with our reception on walking up to the hatch was second to none (Newcastle location). The lady that was working (I think Michelle was her name, my ignorance for not asking to confirm) was so inviting and couldn’t have done more to make us feel like we were royalty. From giving us samples, getting to know us, sharing her passion about the business, an absolute treasure to the company. If I was basing this review on service alone it would’ve been top notch. However, the pizza we order was unbelievable. My partner who is not a pizza fan, was annoyed that we hadn’t ordered more for later 🙈. It was so fresh, the toppings/ recipe was spot on 😍. Absolutely the best pizza I have ever had, without an exaggeration. The only difficulty is, I will have to return from Ballymena to try more of the menu. I couldn’t big this company up more but I believe the previous reviews speak for themselves. It’s a must try and you will not be disappointed. Keep doing what you’re doing because you’s have absolutely nailed it! Thanks for the service, A returning customer, all the way from Ballymena.

In my 51 years on this planet, its the finest pizza I've ever had. I was in Rome earlier this year, i googled "the best pizza in Rome" and after tons of research i went to a small restaurant off the beaten tracks. It was lovely, but doesnt hold a candle to Umami. From the fluffy crust, to the tomatoes they use for the sauce, its outstanding . I'm only here on holiday from the South, but i guarantee I'll be back again😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

So while the girls were cheerful, and efficient and it arrived on time; it was charred a bit much and slightly cool. So cheerful and charred was the order of the day. 😐

We drive from Downpatrick to Newcastle regularly to get a couple of pizzas and a gluten free pizza. Pizzas are fantastic including the gluten free original recipe base.. recommended!

What an unreal establishment. The food, amazing. The staff, more than helpful. Gerard and Michelle done their utmost to make sure I was happy with my selection of food. I wasn't sure what I wanted so they asked what sort of food I was into and came up with the yummiest pizza and garlic bread ever. Iv never tasted pizza like I did in Italy but this was like proper Italian pizza. From the base to the sauce to the toppings. If I could give 10 stars I would. An establishment to b proud off!! Well done guys!

Drove to Temple spar site from east Belfast. Pizza umami so the closest thing to napoli pizza it without jumping on a flight to Naples . Highly recommend classic margarita or fungi for something different. Please give Belfast another shot in the future !!

Good pizza, really friendly people and good prices too! we discovered them in a food festival in Dublin and gave them a visit the week after as well, totally worth it. They also have a vegan cheese that is delicious for those who can’t have dairy.

Possibly the best pizza I have eaten outside of Naples. I had a pepperoni pizza at Hillsborough Castle Honey Festival and although the guys and girls were under pressure due to the numbers ordering from a tiny caravan on site, they managed to turn out an amazing pizza. Fantastic pizza base. Well done guys.

I had the “7 Margarita pizza. It’s a good one to test the quality due to its simplicity. The crust was very light and airy, crispy, and had proper leopard spotting. The sauce was tangy and a little excessive in quantity to my liking. The cheese was good but could have more flavor. They also chose to cook the basil under the cheese (as opposed to adding afterwards due to reduce the risk of burn.) This decision was a good one. It’s rare to find a true sourdough pizza. They stated they fermented for 48-72 hours, and you could tell as the crust developed a flavor, color, and lightness hard to achieve. My suggestion would be to ferment longer as another day would develop more flavor but this is expensive to accomplish given the need for extra inventory and refrigeration. To my taste the rust could use more salt, and my guess is that they were at 1-1.5 wt% salt at most. I prefer a higher level of saltiness at 2.2-3 %wt. This little shop grew out of a food truck and the kitchen still resembles one of time efficiency. Seating is only outdoors on the sidewalk. Delivery is also an option. The price was only £4.5 which to me was low considering the quality.

Great pizza. Had wanted to try it the last time I was in Newcastle as I prefer sourdough pizza and bread but didn't have time. Got to try tonight and was not disappointed, lovely light base and tasty ingredients. Staff very friendly. Pity I don't live closer.

Genuinely great pizza with amazing ingredients and great staff. Only thing in the way of a perfect 5 is the price. 9 pounds is a bit steep for a take out Margherita.
