Pizza Pomodoro in Coleraine

I overheard a waiter swearing. I heard him using harsh language towards the other customers. I am appalled. I overheard him say, 'Table one can F**K OFF!' to his other co-worker. All I was trying to do was enjoy my anniversary dinner with my husband. I saw many flies around the establishment. The owner was rude, and I heard him shouting. He seemed very imperative and disrespectful towards his staff. I feel bad; they have to endure these harsh environments every day... The pizza was bland, doughy and undercooked. Not the hearty Italian restaurant I was expecting!!!!!!

Take out. Extremely disappointing. Cheese topping on pizza like rubber. Chips terrible as well. Nothing positive here.

We have been regulars at the Pizza Pom for over thirty years. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced and you bring your own bottle and no corkage charge! The food is good (try the Sicilian pizza if you like spicy) and the staff are always so friendly and always a warm welcome. The Pizza Pom is a bit of an institution in Coleraine!

Ruined my day due to stomach upset after eating undercooked pizza

Still as good as ever. Family catch up and a great feed and prices still very reasonable so def worth checking out if you’ve never been.

Wanted to love but the Caesar unfortunately wasn’t the best (the chicken was great but the sauce and lettuce was not great) and my husbands kebab came without a pita

Pizza ok, desert awful, Cup of tea served in cup with tea bag and carried by waiter with his thumbs on rim of cup. Gross hygiene. Wouldn't go back.

The pizza was tasty and service fine, but for whatever reason no beer available? That my friends is a head scratcher!!

I used to visit Pizza Pomodora frequently. The food was great, the staff attentive and service was good. But what has happened? Last night, we had a table for 3 booked for 7pm. Our order was taken soon after we were seated and then it was over one hour before we were served! We watched other tables who were clearly waiting for ages on bring served. One family were almost ready to leave when their meals arrived. The young waiting staff were very pleasant, but their inexperience showed. When we got out food, it was good and enjoyable but then we were told they don't serve desserts on Saturday! When we went to pay, I saw the cheffing crew and didn't recognise any of them from my previous visits Has Pizza Pomodoro had a change of owner? I would be hesitant about returning, if this is the standard of service now.

Excellent. Best pizza place in town. We usually get the Carne (I like to add extra chicken) and the Pomodoro. Just great!

Delicious food and great prices.

Pizza pom used to be a firm favourite of ours but after tonight's experience we won't return. The main course was basic, dessert was awful and service was down right appallingly.

We had to wait over 90 minutes for our pizza and pasta dish. The starter only came after we asked. Another table arrived over an hour after us and they had their food in a few minutes. We often had to ask where our food was. Even other guests chimed in and scolded the waiter. The biggest insolence came when paying. We noted again that we (two of us!) had to wait over 90 minutes for our food. The answer we got was that that wasn't true. Super cheeky!

Noch nie habe ich einen dermassen unfähigen Service erlebt. Hier wartest du mal eben über 90 Minuten auf deine Vorspeise. Die Kellner sind auf einmal alle verschwunden. Wenn dann doch mal einer auftaucht und du nachfragst warum das solange dauert kommt nur ein „I know, I know“ - keine Erklärung, keine Wort des Bedauerns. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten kommt dann das Hauptgericht - Qualität „geht so“. Der Gipfel war dann, als ich beim zahlen den Chef auf die lange Wartezeit angesprochen habe, wir entgegnet hat, dass er das nicht glaubt. Auch gut - deswegen hier meine klare Empfehlung, dieses Restaurant besser zu meiden.

Waiter was polite and well mannered . Ordered cod and chips my son had nuggets and chips. Frozen cod from a packet and nuggets were over cooked couldn't be ate plus minerals poured from a 2 litre bottle and charged 2.70 per glass. Not be back anytime soon

Great pizza place. We ordered the chicken BBQ and spicy chicken pizza and some nuggets and chips for our toddler (average). The spicy chicken pizza was VERY VERY spicy so be careful. Waitress was very nice and friendly. The place could do with brighter lights.

Great quality food this evening

Unfriendly waitress. Pasta dish was nice. Lasagne, big portion but unseasonal and tasteless. Fries were so hard and grey in colour they scooted off the plate if you tried cutting them. Wouldn't visit again unless I see reviews improve.

I called at 22:11 on Friday 9/06/23 to order a pizza to be told they closed at 10pm although it says the close at 11pm and at midnight every other night of the week not the first time this has happened!!! Yet another wasted journey!!!! Fed up with all these wasted journeys!!!! Also called at 21:50 on 15/06/23 and we’re already closed I should’ve known better than to call here again!!!!! Will never be back I’m taking my business elsewhere

Best place in COLERAINE for great food especially there vegetarian pizza. Staff are very friendly and my favourite go to place when I need a pick me up l!

Never fails Ur lasagne is to die for 💯💯💯

I am delighted with this place. We were accepted as best friends. And they fed us as deliciously as at our native Italian grandmother. Special grazie mille to a very skilled chef from Sardinia. Everything was divine, both pasta and lasagna. A real artist from the kitchen. The waitresses are very friendly and nice. Thank you very much for your great work. Sincerely, guests from Ukraine.

Surprenant...toile cirée , pas de bière ou vin. On vous dit d'aller au supermarché pour l'acheter et le consommer ici...les clients viennent d'ailleurs tous équipes....nourriture très moyenne. Cela dit pour trouver un resto ici, peu de choix. Tout est désert le soir.

Great pizza. Good value for money and BYO makes it all the more economical in today's climate.

Would frequent Pizza Pom quite regularly since it opened usually for pizza, salad and chips both sit in and take out. Called Sat evening 29th April fancied a change from norm we ordered a chicken kebab, pitta and salad and a beef kebab, salad and chips both with taco sauce. Chicken over cooked, dried out, beef fatty, grizzly, both salads were far from fresh and chips overcooked, hard. Being fair this is the first time we’ve been disappointed with Pizza Pom but for £22 they need to get back to their normal standard.

Lovely meal at very good prices. Pizzas are excellent. Just BYO bottle. We'll be back again.

My friends and I have regularly visited Pizza Pom for over 15 years and have never had a bad experience until now. Our food was excellent so no complaints there, however the service was terrible. Our order was quickly taken but when it arrived we had to ask for cutlery and napkins. No one came near to ask us if we would like desert , tea or coffee. However when someone did approach at 9 30pm! Yes 9 30pm on a Friday night it was to inform us that they were closing! We had in fact already asked for the bill as it was clear they were closing by the fact that they were stacking chairs on the tables around us! So disappointing that a lovely meal was ruined by the service.

Visited this restaurant tonight 11/02/2023 An absolute disgrace from the beginning of the service to the end When entering there was no one to greet us, when we were greeted at last by a young man we received no smiles or welcome After being seated there was one particular waitress who was acting absolutely disgusting towards paying guests, a black haired lady. When our food was served the spaghetti tasted burnt, greasy and generally disgusting to the point it would have made you throw up The carbonara also had little to no flavour and Once again was disgusting When paying for our meal we looked into the kitchen there was dirt everywhere, food lying about rotting, dishes stacked to the roof and generally there seemed to have been no cleanliness whatsoever!! As a whole the service was terrible, the food was awful and honestly the worst restaurant I have EVER visited!!! Would never recommend anyone this restaurant it was awful!! To the point I had to write this review. Awful and Terrible in all ways

I am not a pizza fan but this place has made me one ! Best Pizzas I've ever tasted ! Lasagane is massive and delicious ! If in the Coleraine/ North Coast area you must try ! In my opinion this is the Best Italion restaurante in N Ireland

Food was absolutely faultless. The whole party (even the kids) really enjoyed the meal. Waiting staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back

Worth a visit for a pizza and to dine in. I liked the photos on the wall and the staff are hard working. The tables were a bit wobbly,but they were fine.

Consistently good. Pizza Neptune is my all time favourite here. Black Olives, anchovies, capers, & red onion. Meant o have tuna also but I leave it out. Delicious as always. The pepperoni a firm favourite was also excellent

Pizza pom used to provide the best pizza in town...no longer...Spicy Carne without beef?... smallest piece of plain dry chicken.... dry, tasteless... asked for garlic, forgot to put it on... all told very disappointing... cheesy garlic bread?... must have forgot the garlic on that too... shame really because they used to be the best about.

This place used to be my fav pizza shop - now it is probably the worst pizza you can get in Coleraine. Such a sad fall from Grace. Goodbye forever, Pizza Pom. The end of an era.

Pros : Definitely lovely fresh tasty toppings on pizzas. Nice friendly customer service. Cons : Terrible dough base. Tasteless! Used to be so much nicer. Supermarket brands taste better with regards to the dough base. You guys used to have such wonderful pizza dough. Bring back your original dough ingredients please. Takeaway prices are seriously expensive. Sorry folks I won’t be returning.

Good grub quick service but no card machine for payment, cash only. Other than that its a craicin place to eat.

We were a group of eight over 70's on holiday from England. We like Italian food, saw the smart outside photo and a nice big airy room inside on the restaurant website, and booked. The first impression from the outside was of a drab and run-down facade, nothing like the photos. When we went in, we never saw the 'big airy room' but a cramped long tunnel of a dining area, absolutely rammed with people and so noisy that it turned out to be impossible to converse with anyone but your neighbour and then having to shout. Our table was right by a serving hatch. After some wait a waitress turned up to take our order - she wasn't wearing a mask, but some were - on their chins! The food, when it came, was average, I had carbonara which lacked flavour - just creamy pasta. However, the pizzas arrived half an hour before the pasta dishes which finally arrived just luke warm on stone cold plates. Our plates were cleared and we then awaited the return of the menus to order desserts. But nobody came back to offer desserts or coffee - both of which were on the menu, and after waiting another half hour we called for the bill. Would I recommend the restaurant - definitely not. Would I go again - no chance.

Went to pizza Pom as my husband wanted to try it first of all tried to ring it to order it after 25 times no luck so just walked into it,it took over 30 mins to even get ordered then once ordered took ages for it to be ready the staff was horrible especially the boss or whatever he is the cheese was all over the box defo won’t be back again also not to mention they threw the pizza at us like it was us being rude!worst staff I’ve ever experienced if I’m being totally honest

Service was terrible, pasta's were just warm and no more, the pizzas were really good but have to say that overall it was not a good experience. Desserts came out 1 at a time and there was a young boy waiter who just wanted to get things lifted off the table as soon as he could before we had even finished also heard him cursing under his breath when he had another table to clean. Will be a long time before we are back.

Proper Italian food. Loved it - not shy with the chilli, garlic, or, parmesan.

Order 2 pizza quattro stagioni with garlic put the wrong toppings (chicken) on would not take it back it was very greasy not nice it was £30 down the drain

On the night I went (which happened to be my first ever visit) there didn't seem to be many waiting staff, just one lady scurrying to 'n' fro on her own, so service seemed a little slow. However, once the food arrived, it was actually quite tasty, and portion sizes were substantial too. Staff were friendly, and the male chef who assisted in delivering our food was chatty and pleasant. So, overall it was okay, for me, but perhaps I won't be rushing back, next time I'm in Coleraine.

Lovely meal , great atmosphere and good service

Food was delicious but service didn't match the quality of the food. Packed very tightly into with other diners. Felt like we were sharing a table and I had to ask for directions about how to pay the bill. Pay at table via card machine and less cramped seating and I would of given it 5 star. Wont sit in again but will return for take away. Food was beyond 5 stars.

got take away… pizza burnt, not cut, toppings just slid off the base, then our side of potato wedges and cheese were burnt, and you couldn’t even get them out of the container. Very sorry excuse for a restaurant, 30 quid wasted

Really disappointed with the service and attitude of the staff. Have always loved Pizza Pom and ordered a take away tonight to celebrate a child’s birthday. Rang and was given an order number and told it would be 20 minutes. When we turned up to get the order, we were repeatedly ignored, then given our total to pay, only to be told they’d got it wrong and that wasn’t our order. Then asked for a greater amount to be paid, but said our food wasn’t ready - 40 minutes after placing the order. I know mistakes can be made anywhere and I can forgive this when a mistake is acknowledged and staff are polite, but rude would be an understatement for the attitude of the staff this evening.

I have eaten in the restaurant witch I've always found good and the staff are very attentive. The takeaways on the other hand are complete rubbish! The grease runs off the pizzas and the sides are soggy! . Why is it so different ? Ile happily return just not for takeaway

Lovely atmosphere, waitresses worked extremely hard to ensure 2 happy customers :) went out of her way to make coffees at an awkward time which we greatly appreciated! Food was brilliant, good options for a veggie and a meat lover

Diabolical meat feast pizza., Mess of cheese slop with whole slices of ham throughout, burned base. Straight to bin. Utterly ridiculous.

Lasagne was overpowered with garlic and inedible. Fizzy drinks were flat. Staff werent attentive. Felt very disorganised.Not for me.

First time ever in this town and finding it difficult to locate a restaurant we all like. This one had people queuing out the door for takeaways so we knew the food would be good. We all enjoyed a mix of pizza, pasta and kebab. All freshly cooked with fresh ingredients. Generous portions which is a refreshing antidote to new wave pseudo restaurants that you leave feeling hungry. Somewhat incredulous at a few of the bad reviews at what is an honest family run establishment. You can bring your own booze too, saving a fortune. Love it 🤪

Great pizza not like other places

Went on Saturday night and didn’t book an effort was made to get me a table very polite service even though staff were under a hell lot of pressure food was amazing best pizzas in town definitely will be returning sometime soon

Got a takeaway from here with my wife, son and parents on Friday evening. We ordered a chicken kebab, pepperoni pizza, ham and mushroom pizza, cheese pizza for my son, tagliatelle alle pollo for me and chips to share. I phoned the order in and was told ten mins for collection. I drove over and the order was just about ready which was great service. I checked the number of boxes and everything seemed in order. The food was piping hot. Arrived at the house and found that I’d ben given the wrong pasta dish. Bit disappointing as I really like the tagliatelle. I didn’t ring to complain as we live the other side of town and to get a replacement would take too long. Sometimes these things happen. Everyone else’s pizzas and kebab were great and I nabbed a couple of slices! My pasta which I think was the penne pollo was just ok. Not much taste. This mishap won’t put me off coming back but it was slightly annoying.

Love the pizza...food always great. Great car park across the road. Bring your own beer/wine...no corkage charge.

Rarely would take the time to leave a review especially a negative however I have never had an experience quite like I did in this restaurant. Felt awful for the two floor staff working who seemed to have no support or help from any management...

My favourite place to grab pizza in town!

On holiday in Coleraine with our young family and took a chance ordering take away- it was really great! The margherita pizza, spaghetti bolognese, hamburger, and Caesar Salad were all delicious. The portions gave everyone a full tummy and the food was fresh and well made. Just wish were weren't a plane ride away! highly recommend

Disappointed, as we had been recommended this place. It was like pizza you get to make when youre a kid, and you just pile on as many toppings as possible, which means most of them dont get cooked properly and the base in the middle...

Rang to place an order for collection. Wanted to order a mixed kebab with just onion and mushroom (no peppers) and was told that they can only make the dish with all veg or none. Think that's a bit ridiculous not to be able to ask for no peppers. Very disappointed because the food is very nice but on this case the customer service was extremely lacking.

This evening I had a Mixed Kebab with chilli sauce. Excellent! I can recommend it!

Fantastic tasting Pizza with good quality fresh ingredients. It appears to be run by an Italian family and I have to say it was unexpected to find such a good Pizza in Coleraine.

I really liked their vegetarian pizza (number 6 on the menu). Thin crust, full of flavour and plenty of toppings. I really wanted a creamy pasta dish, but unfortunately all their vegetarian pastas are tomato based. Maybe the chef could come up with a new creamy vegetarian pasta?

The food is not what it use to be especially the sicillian pizza it just falls off the base now and pretty expensive got as well

Tonight it was good we were well spaced out a table between each party. I do not know if this is a regular practice but I felt safe as much can be anywhere. As should be all staff were wearing face coverings. Salt and pepper are in sachets which shows they are thinking of reducing risk where they can. We are happy to be back eating in one of our old favourites.

We have been going here for years and theres never been a bad day. The staff are friendly and greet you with a smile. The food is lovely too. Ive had both takeaway and sit in over the years. Great stuff both.

Went with a friend this evening 10/10/20 for a meal drinks and food where served to us quickly and the waitresses and waiters where very happy to help very polite food was delicious and place kept very clean and professional definitely worth the price! Thanks pizza pomodoro

Great friendly staff and lovely food

We dined in today usually, we usually get take aways, lovely pizzas pastas and kebabs Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Speaking from a hospitality back round only small comment is lack of management presence on the floor. Staff never checked us after we received our meal nor where we offered more drinks etc...a very small issue that you could easily correct. Just more staff training or could just be getting back into after lockdown. However overall the staff where nice and food was delicious.

As a family group of 9 we were seated in a side room with a large group of twenty-somethings who had ‘brought their own’ beers and spirits, not their fault but made for a noisy evening. Dirty cutlery, pleasant servers but terrible service in that...

Second bad experience, so won’t be back! No social distancing whatsoever as our backs were touching a group of 13! So close they kept knocking my coat off my seat! Waited over an hour on food which then came in dribs & drabs; the group...
