Amici Ristorante Portstewart in Coleraine

4 of us decided to visit Amichi for lunch. Of the 4 different lunches we had one that was just about acceptable. The Burger was bone dry and had a texture like cardboard. No relish, just sad dried up burger, with leaves, a bap and a tiny dish of what resembled mayo. The salmon dish was similar, looked and tasted like yesterday’s leftovers. The accompanying asparagus was stone cold and the baby boiled potatoes were saturated with oil. The Chicken Caesar salad, again the chicken was dried up and looked like the sole of a gutty, just totally pathetic. Had they bothered to enquire how our meal was they would have been told. As we had guests with us we decided not to be confrontational, paid up, and left wiping our feet on the way out. For a “chef” to serve up food the like we were given was a total and utter disgrace. To top it all off a request was ignored. I’ll certainly not be rushing back any time soon.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night, the service was excellent from start to finish, we had a lovely table with beautiful views, we didn’t have starters as we all have a sweet tooth, I opted for the trio steak sharing plater, this was awesome and more than enough for 2 people, we then had cookie dough cheesecake which was to die for, washed down by a few cocktails, definitely a place worth a visit if you are in Portrush/Portstewart area, although you may have to book well in advance, we will definitely be back soon.

Have heard so much about Amici,so we arrived on a busy Friday night you will not be disappointed with the food absolutely amazing,The service and friendliness of the staff was excellent, quality all round.

Be aware if you cancel your booking you will be charged £10pp..in there policy apparently but hard to find online

Was disappointed on my meal as it was a ribeye steak with just a bit of green salad on it not even a bit of tomato or anything especially for the price of it wouldn't be rushing back

Been a couple of times and it’s in a great setting. Always busy which is a good sign. Staff have always been attentive and friendly and the food has been fantastic.

Have been coming here every Sunday afternoon for lunch for quite a long time and I can say that I have never had a meal that was anything less than 100% . A great place for causal dining. The staff have always been attentive and friendly nothing seems too much. This applies to even new staff that have not served us before. I think this is the best restaurant on the North Coast for the quality of food and service ( but being a Ballymena man price's could be better Ha Ha) I have read some of the negative reviews and I must say I would not recognise it as this restaurant.

Nice spot between Portrush and Portstewart. Food was nice and good menu choices. Staff were polite and helpful. Could do with more parking.

Went last night as a group of 4 and even though they were extremely busy, the service was very prompt. Such lovely, attentive staff and the food is amazing, so many options, even a vegan menu and the dessert menu is big! Loved the cocktails. Really happy with my experience and will most DEFINITELY be back! Amici, you have some really gorgeous staff. Such nice people and they really do make a restaurant. Sorprendente 🫶🏼

This is a very busy restaurant, so you need to pre-book. Great bistro food at reasonable prices. Excellent service. Extensive wine list.

Nice set up, buzzing place seems to be the place to be - food was grand - not amazing but nice yea - staff too keen to get you out for my liking which is ok if they need a table but when you’ve spent a lot on a bill it’s not nice to be rushed out the door either - service needs working on!

We got booked online and got seated quickly. The menu was wide and we ordered. We didn’t wait long for our food. It was very good. Desserts were HUGE! All in all great experience.

This restaurant provides fantastic Italian food along with a really great atmosphere. The service is amazing, especially Emma, an absolute gem in this restaurant. Kids menus are often an after thought but not here... our boys nearly licked the plates. Will definitely be back!!

I absolutely love this restaurant, and always a must when celebrating family occasions, however had a unfortununate experience. My daughter had ordered chocolate brownie, her favourite, and although the surface was cooked, the centre was completely raw,....the waitress did apologise and brought another,.... again completely raw. My daughter was not offered an alternative and only 'we won't charge you.' While we were not charged, I felt there was a complete lack of management ownership,...it appeared they simply did not care,...which was very disappointing 😔 We will return, though, hoping this was just ' a bad night.'

Good service and good portion size. Food was very average at best. The amici pasta was flavourless as was the duck special. Much better options out there. The demand for a table definitely wasn't reflected in the food.

Had the best crab ravioli and the apple crumble was amazing highly recommend coming

This restaurant is a shining star in Northern Ireland. The food was amazingly fresh , great extensive menu. Staff were friendly and efficient with nothing too much trouble even though they were very busy. We had pizza, tortellini, bolognaise and penne pasta, all cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend

Went there last with the wife, parents and a 14 week old baby. Lovely restaurant, lovely staff and fantastic food!! Really looking forward to coming back! I had the fillet steak (tagatelia I think) and it was one of the nicest pieces of beef I have had in a very long time. And a wee strawberry sundae to wash it all down. Class!

absolutely incredible ! chanced our arm and got a lovely table by the window looking out at sea. although it was busy as ever service was quick for a saturday evening. our lovely server joesph was fantastic and very friendly. my girlfriend ordered the prawn kebab and I myself had the arancini Starter and special steak pasta for my main with some extra chilli. Finished off with a sticky toffee pudding and a few cocktails. A brilliant little gem on the north coast, can’t wait to get back up :)

We always try and go here when visiting Portstewart and have never had a bad experience. Carbonara is amazing and the truffle and Parmesan fries are the best. I tried the lemon curd cheesecake this time and it was delicious. Amazing view, friendly staff and great food as always. I would recommend booking in advance as it is a busy wee place and I can understand why!

Ate here last week for the 1st time celebrating my wife's 40th birthday. Reserved a table online asking for a view over the sea which they gave us. 1st class service, amazing food, big menu and friendly staff and loads of parking. Highly recommended, book in advance during busy season.

Delicious High end Dinning Friendly service

So we went here after many recommendations. Initially we were greeted by the front of house staff who were very pleasant. After being sat at our table we browsed the extensive Italian menu which has something for everyone. The waiting staff who attended to us at this point just seemed uninterested, and there was no real customer service other than, order taking and bring plates of food out. We weren’t asked how the meal was by the waiting staff. Not that there was any great issue but the sides which were costly enough were a little lack lustre. The Salt n Chilli Chips were nicely flavoured. But that was all 4 actual chips the rest were the crispy hard bits at the bottom of the chip basket. Portion sizes are plentiful and generous. Desserts are of similar standard. Massive! But tasty and worth it. All in all not the worst but just not what we expected given all the great reviews. Maybe we got them on a bad night all be it not the busiest!

Super busy place need the need to book advisable .. have eaten is this establishment many times and never had a bad meal or anything negative to report.. keep up the great work 👍

Lovely Italian restaurant with a friendly and professional staff. The food was literally delicious, from the starter to the dessert. I am Italian, and I was suspicious at first, but their dishes were so tasty. I really recommend it. Can't wait to eat here again!

It was very pleasant but nothing special

My husband and I visited Amici’s for a Saturday lunch. We have been before and have always enjoyed. Our order was taken and I did notice the server hadn’t written it down. Not always a great sign… The food arrived promptly and my penne salmon was lovely. It was only when my husband was eating the first 1/4 of his burger he realised there was no cheese in the hickory burger which he had ordered with chips. There was a small amount of lettuce and a small scrape of sauce. The server came back to ask if everything was ok, I explained the situation. He took the burger away immediately and assured he would rectify the order- that was fine. He came back shortly to say that the Amici burger didn’t actually come with cheese but they were sorting it in the kitchen anyway! Awkward when my husband told him it was actually the hickory burger that had been ordered which (you guessed it) he hadn’t written down!!! He did apologise and admit it was his fault. Meanwhile, I continued to pick at my food solo while it went cold. Eventually another server offered to take my food to keep it warm. Thanks to them. Shortly after the ‘new’ burger returned with the correct filling in a fresh bap. At last we could resume what we thought was going to be a nice lunch… We laughed in disbelief when my husband cut in to the burger to realise there was 1/4 missing!! Very poor to think that they couldn’t even be bothered to remake the correct order and instead scraped off and reserved the old burger!!! Burger and chips tasted fine but I’m really annoyed. Eating out is just too expensive now for things not to be right! And yes- we were charged full price!!

This was simply a wonderful experience for our family. The welcome, service delivery and ambiance were all excellent. The three courses were presented seamlessly and at appropriate intervals. The food...... well...... chicken wings, salt & chilli prawns, the sharing platter, steak, monkfish, gourmet burger and 4 desserts All quite simply excellent. Oh yes and I should mention the setting.... Looking over the Atlantic Ocean..... Class.

between portstewart and Portrush on its own on the left-hand side overlooking the sea maybe it has new owners but years ago I booked it for myself and my children a week in advance (they said you can't come in without being booked they are well booked in advance) when we arrived a man with his family of three a wife and two children behind me he marched on ahead of me and was asked if he had booked he said no and he was shown immediately to a table and I was asked then if I had booked and said yes. He said there is no table you'll have to wait even though I had booked it so they had been given my table an absolute disgrace and discrimination. Obviously, I left and never went back.

This fabulous restaurant was recommended and it did not disappoint. I was only up at the north coast for a few nights and went twice. If there hadn't been heavy snow I'd have gone all 4 days!.. It is absolutely fabulous 👌 we loved it all.

Amici has great food and great service! The restaurant is clean and looks nice tho it isn’t that big inside and on busy days it feels a bit crowded with tables too close to each other. But that isn’t much of a problem, the amazing food and great service is definitely worth the trip!

Lorna and I had a wonderful night at Amici. It so pleasant to have a special evening and Joanne made our night. Not only was she so diligent but nothing was too much for her to do. The atmosphere was fantastic in the early evening as well. 🥰

Top restaurant with stunning views of the water cosy inside aswell, chefs are top notch aswell full team in there like an army if u haven't been before and u love the North Coast its a must visit

This has been our “go to” restaurant for 5/6 years. We have always enjoyed a pleasant experience. Even our last visit was good although it could have been a little warmer. The only negative comment relates to one of the meals-the two 4oz sirloin steaks....

Lovely Iralian restaurant in a beautiful location in Portstewart. Great menu with lots of gluten free choices. Staff and service were excellent. Only gripe would be that sides need to be ordered with many mains, would expect rice or chips with some dishes as standard....

Service was very slow. Food was either overcooked or felt like it had been reheated. One of the party ordered a (dry) chicken kebab dish which was heavily under-seasoned and served on a bed of lettuce with a slice of sourdough (a bit of a muddled mix). Another ordered a chicken escalope which was again very dry and served with minimal accompaniment. Starter included a cold platter with heavily undercooked battered octopus. Vegetarian main and starter were both overcooked, (arancini and a seemingly reheated pizza). Overall, overpriced stodgy food with poor service.

Excellent food, wine and service. This is a very pleasant place to dine the staff were lovely and everything we had was delicious. To be honest it was faultless. This place is extremely popular so a reservation is definitely recommended.

Excellent food. I had pizza (Porchetta £16.00 Tomato / Slow Cooked Pulled Pork / Pineapple / Chilli) and really enjoyed it. Kids meals were also excellent as was their ice cream for dessert.

A really nice restaurant with a great selection of Italian food to choose from. The food is all delicious and at a good price and the staff were super friendly and provided great service. There is a reasonably large carpark attached to the restaurant making it easy to get to.

This restaurant is situated along the beautiful coast with ample of parking although you might have to compete with the golfers. I had the seabass with the risotto; the skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was so tender! I couldn’t have ended it any better than their tiramisu which was so scrumptious that I ordered two!

We booked in advance and on arrival despite the majority of the restaurant tables having a sea view we were led to what can only be described as a table tucked in a wardrobe. When we asked to be moved we did get a better...

My partner loves this place. Nice atmosphere and service. But, personally, I had a pasta dish which I put together myself due to dietary requirements and I didn't find it to be anything special, it was quite oily.

One of the best meals we’ve ever had! Amazing experience, delicious food and great variety on the menu. Service was perfect too, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be back.

What a gem. A friend recommended Amici torus and thankfully we booked way in advance and even then there was limited space available. Book early!! There is ample parkingvon site. The food was very delicious and we will definitely be back to taste the pizzas with our children next time.

Loved this place, outstanding Sea views while you enjoy the buzz and atmosphere. The food is mouthwatering and the taste doesn't disappoint we had the share plate of 3 steaks with a selection of sides and we were blown away. Each steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely a must go place for anyone visiting the North Coast but warning you have to book well in advance as word is getting out about this hidden gem

Great spot if you don't care how much you pay for non exceptional food!!! Portions and quality not like it used to be - prices also unreasonably/unjustifiable hiked up - not really worth it . Getting a bit like the eateries at Portrush Harbour.

Amici is simply leagues ahead of restaurants in the North coast. The staff are always extremely attentive, friendly and welcoming- nothing is ever too much bother. Very few places can boast of a such exceptional staff and that is definitely one of the many reasons...

This is truly a 5 start restaurant!! The food came out very quickly and was delicious, there were 6 of us in total and we all loved our dishes! The pork fillet was fantastic!! As was the spaghetti and meatballs!! The restaurant was very nice and well put together! The staff was excellent and were very timely! The desserts were to die for!!!! We loved all of them except for the strawberry pavlov with raspberry coulis, which is unique. The prices are on the higher end but you are paying for good quality. I highly suggest stopping at this restaurant, you will not regret it!

Always enjoy having a meal here. Food is delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cosy warm atmosphere with pleasant surroundings. Definitely recommend, one of my favourite restaurants.

We've been visiting Portstewart for many years but had never been to Amici. We enjoyed good service, high quality food and wines, saw our friend Martin was also in with his family celebrating his birthday. Portions generous, food rather rich (in my case the salmon pasta with lemon sauce), many choices, no possibility of fitting in one of the very nice looking desserts.

All the food was excellent. Felt good after the meal, so high quality ingredients. We recommend.

Great food in a lovely setting with a nice atmosphere. Food was served fairly quickly despite being busy. Nice breadth to the menu with some specials.

A lovely setting with reasonable food. Friendly helpful staff. A window table. Pizzas have probably improved since the last visit. Toilets spotless clean. Decent Guinness. And wonderful tap water in sparkling clean glassware.

Beautiful location along the Atlantic. The food was absolutely delicious! Our server Alan was fantastic! We have one in our group who is very specific in her requests/orders which were handled with ease. Thank you for your grace and assistance. Also had a birthday and though it was very quickly mentioned upon entering the restaurant they remembered and had a lovely "candle" for the top of his dessert. Thank you again for doing everything to make this night wonderful! Definitely recommend! You will feel like you are eating in Italy except for the accents! 😆

One of our best meals while on vacation followed by a beautiful walk along the ocean.

Friendly, efficient service, probably the best Lasagne I've tasted. Good wine offering we had the Valpolicella served at just the right temperature. Good wide menu, lovely deserts. Reasonably priced. Couldn't really say I felt atmosphere there, it was very busy when we went, recommend booking as you may not get I otherwise.

Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation un soir, certainement pile au bon moment, car après quelques minutes nous avons eu notre table ! Nous avons eu un bon accueil et tous les membres du personnel que nous avons eu furent très aimable. Merci aux cuisines pour avoir légèrement modifié un plat à notre demande. Des pâtes à la pizza en passant par le personnel et la vue sur la mer 5⭐

This was the only night we could get booked in but it was worth the wait. Everything was first class, our party sampled meatballs, prawn linguine, salmon penne, lasagne and pizza - no complaints and everything polished off. The desserts were equally amazing - frangipane tart & Malteser cheesecake. Absolutely no surprise that this restaurant is full every night - make sure you book early.

Wife birthday, 4 adults 2 children, 5pm table. Starter came as ordered, food good. After 1 hour no main course, we had asked for children to be served first. I spoke to passing waiter to enquire about food, adult main course arrived after another 20 minutes . Children’s food arrived 8 minutes later. Serving staff sourly and dour, basically threw food on table. Very disappointing, we liked Amici before this, sad service and no apologies. Not a lot to ask, especially tricky with only table for 2hours, maybe need to sort it .
