Stayed here me my partner and son . Great place about 5-10 minutes outside Kilkeel. Very peaceful and we rented a carved of a lady . Beautiful caravan at a good price. Details are in the pics

First time buying from this cafe ( just passing through) and I was very glad I did! I only got the kids meal, fish bite supper, but it may have been the tastiest fish I've eaten. The batter was superb, and the girl who served me was lovely. A little gem of a cafe

Very disappointing,fish was the smallest portion I've had in any chip shop and the chicken burger was very tough and thin. We travelled from our stay in Cranfield as we heard it was great.Won't be back.

Second time we have been stung by this chip shop. Went back for fish and chips again, and again the chips were hard, dry and shrivelled (probably re-fried). The cod was tiny. Near £30 for the three fish suppers. 😭. The latest award on their wall is 2019 and no wonder.

Lovely fish and chips, very busy as it is super popular. Chippy par exclence. Staff could smile more but I understand being rushed off your feet.

Food quality was excellent. There are a few parking spaces directly outside but on a corner of main traffic road into the town, this can be a bit tricky trying to manover out especially if a cars park in front and behind you.

I’ve never had an issue with pit stop and it’s my go to normally for a haddock supper as it’s normally second to none. I called tonight after I received a bad piece of fish, not to complain or ask for a free meal or anything but more so to give them a heads up to keep an eye on what was being given out. The low review in this case is for the poor customer service. After explaining that the fish wasn’t good I was laughed at by a staff member who pretty much said it was impossible for the fish to have been bad as she filleted it herself this morning and had made the batter up fresh. I couldn’t care less about it being a bad piece of fish not having the dinner I expected tonight, working in the food industry, not every item of food will be perfect, but I am appalled at being laughed at numerous times throughout one phone call. The customer service this evening was absolutely shocking. I was reluctantly offered a refund which I declined as that wasn’t the reasoning for my call but I didn’t even receive an apology, I was only met with laughter and ‘well I don’t know how it could have been bad everything’s made fresh’ and a sarcastic ‘thanks for letting me know’ before I hung up. Safe to say I won’t be returning after this poor customer service unfortunately.

Went in For my Lunch asked for battered sausage usually you get a few chips with other chippys, not this place, stingy with there chips

Just about gets a 4 as the steak on chips and the cod were great, lovely pepper sauce, but on the next visit the cheesy chip was quite dry with only a little stringy cheese in the middle of it all. Hopefully an exception.

Beautiful cod in the lightest of batter.

Being a bit of an a-fish-ionado, with much field research on fish and chippers, I can give Pit Stop the thumbs up. Three elements go towards the perfect fish (always haddock for me). First it must be fresh from the trawler. Second the batter should be light. Third it should never be overcooked. Pit Stop nails it. The size of the fish can be an issue but that's a risk I'm prepared to take (or you could just ask).

Tasty, but the fish could have been larger - the box it came in was certainly large enough!! Apparently the haddock is better so may try that in future.

Stopped here years ago and it was as good today as it was all those years ago. Freshly prepared food. It deserves all its awards. If your in Kilkeel well worth a visit

Would not recommend the chilly stake sandwich, was overflowing with sauce, an entire onion chopped up and put in and maybe 10 tiny pieces of beef that could barely be tasted.

If any one can get me better fish and chips I will give them 5000 pounds sterling

You were courteous polite funny and seemed to go out of your way to please this customer. The food was equally pleasing. I have travelled miles to this place over 2 years. This is the best chip shop in Northern Ireland. Hands down.

Service was very slow especially for "fast food" and when we received it, it wasnt anything special. Portions were quite small for the price and chips come without salt and vinegar on. This place used to be very good but I would struggle to recommend now. Main positive is the service is generally friendly.

Had a lovely sit down meal fish chips and peas but one of our party had the southern fried chicken wrap and was disappointed in the quantity of chicken in it filled out with coleslaw and salad and one chicken strip cut into six or seven small pieces.staff were very friendly and helpful and all in all everything else was reasonably priced and food tasted excellent.

Excellent service, fast and efficient. I mostly order the same thing when I'm in here, curry chip with chicken and a portion of battered sausages, usually takes about 5mins and I'm out through the door again and still hot when I get home.

Visited yesterday evening for a sit down meal with my 2 children. I ordered a kids meal and when asked what drink i said water please. The girl said we dont do water its either fruit shoot etc ; i then said ill pay the extra then for the water. The assistant turned to another assistant for advice on this !!! She in return said " cant do that its a set price" I really couldnt believe it!!! I then said "fine, ill buy a bottle of water " that was ok took a seat and waited a good length of time on food. I had ordered a pastie burger and i asked for brown sauce as there was only red sauce on the table. The same girl who said about the water said "that will be 80p for a wee tub!!!!" I replied "i will do without thanks" funny thing is we were there a cpl of weeks ago and when i asked for brown sauce it wasnt a problem and a bottle of brown sauce was brought to the table. Not be rushing back for that type of attitude.
