Hilltown Chippy in Newry and Mourne

Had fish supper here a few months ago the fish was grand, batter a bit heavy and yellow though though the chips were excellent. Wasn't so fortunate tonight, very thin piece of fish and again that thick pasty yellow batter fried in oil/fat that way past it's life, horrible, as a result the chips were awful also. Change you frying fat/oil more regularly and lighten your batter. I'll try one more time, we're all human after all so maybe a one off. I'll pass on the fish though.

Ordered a Dinner box and chips, Am now fighting for my life on the toilet and have had to change multiple sheets. DO NOT ORDER

Had one of the best doner kebab with chips and salad. I highly recommend them. Good stuff.

Full family fed and watered ..brilliant service and first class fish and homemade chips

Passing through & stopped to get some food. Chips were awful - mine looked and tasted like they had been re-fried several times. Chicken burger was as dry as sawdust. Daughters chicken nuggets were so overcooked too. Certainly couldn't recommend the food.

Good quality burger and good portion of chips with it.

The Homemade Chips are a worth of getting My Nephew loves the Chicken Burgers 🍔.

More meat on a Brussels sprout than on my kebab!! Won't be back.

Clean store and I have to say the food was good but the portion was awful for the price, it would have fed my jack russell and no more

Stopped here while we were on vacation from America driving to Downpatrick though the Mourne Mountians. We were lost during a downpour and Hilltown seemed like good place to get our bearings. The owner was an absolute gentleman and made us the best fresh fish and chips we'd ever had. The portions were huge and doubled as dinner later than evening in Belfast. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
