Warmest of welcome from the start very attentive staff couldn’t do enough for you the food was excellent huge portions the ribeye steak and steak pie was well worth a visit and the desserts can’t wait for the next time

Got kicked out after sitting down for ten minutes. Local pub for local people, having stopped due to the sign saying welcome stop by for delicious food, we were told we couldn’t stay after waiting ten minutes despite the pub being empty. I’m a wheelchair user so I struggle to get in and out of the car, and into the pub is difficult. Staff were not helpful, and assumed that we must have known it was booking only, but how is one supposed to know especially if there is a welcome sign at the front? We kindly suggested that they remove the sign but they refused to listen. Don’t stop by if you have a rumbling belly if you don’t want to be disappointed.

I’ve visited the Pantyscallog many times over the past few years, the first time being Valentines 2018 and the last in August 2023. The portions are huge, the food is super tasty and you always get a warm welcome! Every time I’ve been with my family, we end up taking half of our meals home as the portions are that big! This is our go to place for family celebrations! It’s cash only, which isn’t an issue as there’s a cash point across the road. Looking forward to visiting for a Sunday dinner very soon!

Wow Wow Wow huge portions of beautifully cooked food I forgot to take pictures we had steaks fish hunter’s chicken,chicken burger and beef pie and gammon. Desserts are definitely for sharing to big for one.The staff were very efficient in a very very restaurant they were friendly and very helpful highly highly recommend.We will definitely be going back time and again.

Great service in a friendly atmosphere , all the steaks were cooked to perfection . Comes highly recommended. Drinks and desserts all reasonably priced.

I've never visited this establishment but my old friend Gareth highly recommends it. His word is his bond and anything Gareth likes must be of the highest quality. I will definitely be paying a visit very soon. Of there were 10 stars I would rate it 10 stars as gareth is not easly pleased.

I have never visited this restaurant before but the review in Facebook and TripAdvisor indicated very high scores. The staff were superb and could not do enough for us. All I can say is that the portions are HUGE. Nice think chunks of chicken in the curry and the burgers were extremely thick. I had the mixed grill, which came with very thick pieces of steak 🥩 and a few others, but at £32 a pop, it's the most expensive meal there. My only observation, is that there are only a few options for meals avaibale and no ribeye steak. Further, this is a CASH ONLY business, but there is a cashpoint across the road. All in all, 4.5 stars ✨ from me and my family.

Very pleasantly surprised, even though I have thought of it as a pub, it was more like a restaurant with a small limited bar. The decor was great and the staff friendly, but where it really excelled was the food! Huge portions and absolutely delicious, I ordered the lamb rump and was presented with 3 large lamb steaks and loads of chips 👍🏻 All in all a great night, although after the meals people left so not really a pub atmosphere.

Went there for dinner and was really disappointed. Frozen chips, edible food but not great. The toilets and deco were dated. Not much care for customers and cash only which is really inconvenient.

Booked a private room for 40 guest, food was ok, but we were REFUSED DESSERTS, as they had another 2 private parties on and couldn't COPE IN THE KITCHEN DOING DESERTS, NOT EXCEPTABLE, We suggested cutting up our birthday cake as a desert...BUT IT WASN'T ALLOWED, EASY SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM....TAKE MORE STAFF ON FOR THE EVENING. obviously they want to take our money, but give us a 2nd rate service. ..IT SPOILT OUR NIGHT

Booked with family for my son's birthday and was not disappointed. Absolutely fantastic, the best gammon steak i have ever had, and all our party thoroughly enjoyed. I have to say, make sure that you're hungry before you go as the meals are huge. We didn't know about the cash only policy prior to arrival, so this could catch people out. However, there is a cashpoint at the post office opposite, which saved the day, so to speak. Maybe this should be stated when booking so customers can prepare for this. If there was an issue with the cashpoint, it would be very problematic. Anyway, enough of that. I can definitely recommend this establishment. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure that you're hungry

Visit as part of a large group for a birthday celebration. The first warning sign is literally a sign - at the entrance it says “cash only” so I guess the VAT man isn’t a regular. Seated at an unclean table with no cutlery out the back in a tacky shed type area. Prices however are ‘top dollar.’ A steak house that only does sirloin or ribeye is not a steakhouse in my, or anyone else who matters book, but what the Hell let’s try the ribeye (because sirloin is 99 times out of 100 flavourless dross and nothing about this place was leading me to think that it might be otherwise here) medium rare as a ribeye should be in order to render the fat and it’s flavour into the meat without over toughening it. It was medium at best in the extremities and inedible ‘well’ in the middle, accompanied by ‘unidentified frying objects’ (freezer chips) - a huge portion mark you so if a large quantity of warm disgusting crap is what you desire you may find satisfaction. My wife had hunter’s chicken which although huge was gristly and put her off with at least 1/2 left. The toilets were disgusting, no lock on the door, no soap in the dispensers and no alcohol gel in that bottle either. There were no desserts on either - not that anyone was informed until after mains were eaten - but that was a blessing as at least we could leave a bit sooner.

We had a recommendation from our nephew to visit this restaurant, so we book for a table of 4, as we walked in it was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. We were shown to our seats straight away. My husband and brother ordered the mix grill, please go there very hungry as it was huge, no small portions at all, all beautiful cooked and extremely tasty, my sister in law and I both had the 10oz sirloin, wow so tender and massive amount. We were astonished by the size of the meals. The staff were all amazing and the owner and her sister were fantastic, giving us tubs to put the food we couldn’t eat home, they couldn’t do enough for us. So attentive. The wine Amicone was so smooth with our food and they give you freezing water for the table also. What a find!! We will be back and may become regulars, no need to travel for miles for a good restaurant this one is a true gem of one, they deserve the best. See you soon.

Excellent meal, lovely steak cooked to perfection. The birthday boy thoroughly enjoyed it. We had to use a fail box for the gammon from the mixed grill and the lovely crispy onion rings we couldn't manage. Need to remember to take cash next time we visit as there are no card payments. Definitely a weekend visit to try their TBone steak. Friendly staff and great service too

Had my son in laws 50th birthday here with family and friends ..Quite simply awesome ! Awesome food Awesome service Spotlessly clean and fantastic staff.. SPECIAL.MENTION TO MACEY.. Highly recommend this restaurant to all .. Ps ..only go when your really hungry as the portions are huge .. Thanks to all for making our night special ..see you all again soon .

a group of 9 of us booked and looked forward to our visit after hearing so much about the place, Clean and tidy on the inside and we was seated in the outside seating area which is brilliant under the lights. the staff couldn't do enough for us, drinks came quick and fast and not over priced. One of our group wanted the pizza but initially it wasn't on the menu after a short chat with the kitchen they made her a fresh dough for the pizza fantastic service All meals was amazing, i attempted the mixed grill and for the price its stunning value In fact all of the meals are simply amazing value and well worth a visit. Doggy bags on hand for those who struggle to clear the plate

Came here for my mothers birthday for the 1st time i had the mixed grill which was huge and perfectly cooked staff were very friendly and helpful real value for money we have booked again thank you all it was absolutely beautiful

After checking twice on the 23/24th of December due to the welsh government restrictions and advised all was still ok, received a text on the morning of the 27th to advise they could no longer complete our order du the kitchen being closed. After expressing concern over the late cancellation and a call with the owner we were advised that the kitchen would be open on the 29th! We advised the owner that this was no good as my brother is a nurse and would be back in work working we were told that it wasn’t his problem he was working and couldn’t reorder!!!

Been here 3 times twice with family and once with work mates and each time it's been fantastic. Great value for money the portions are huge and the service is fab, I recommend the t-bone steak if you are very hungry.

Was recommended this pub by a family member who had eaten there previously. OMG - make sure you are hungry before you order as the portions are enormous!!! To date we have tried the mixed grill, lasagne, fish and steak meals.
