Pale in Stockport

Really lovely bar. Staff are always friendly here and it’s great for a social gathering of friends and family. It’s a cozy little place too. Can get busy on a weekend. Great alcohol selection. Highly recommend.

Noisy even with only a few people in. Lots of space and tables, would go again.

Music was poppin, beer was chilled and generally a lovely place to unwind on a summer’s eve.

Quaint little bar in the heart of the Heatons. It gets pretty cramped when more people turn up but I guess that is due to the popularity of the place. Great tunes full of young trendy people. If that sounds right up your street then this is the place for you!

Nice place to try different ales

Nice atmosphere. Good selection of beers and ales. TV shows sports (watched football). Small but nice.

Whilst welcoming, it wasn't really clear to me what they were trying to be. Offerings on beer, cider and wine seemed limited and the friendly staff seemed unsure about which of their beers may suit me. Perhaps it was the wrong venue for our group or perhaps a Tuesday night doesn't reflect it at its best.

Nice, small and cute. More variety of beer would always be nice but still a cool place to have a few drinks and eat. Good for meeting friends.

A simple menu with a focus on Pie and Mash. Really enjoyable pies, excellent mash and tasty gravy. Fairly priced wines and congenial service. I've been several times and never been disappointed.

Really great night at the Open Mic evening - will definitely be back. And I will prepare next time rather than on the spot singing 😂

Oh my god. This place is amazing. The pies they sell are absolutely fantastic. The mushy mint peas are delicious. The mash is so creamy and fluffy. The gravy they have is the best I have ever had. It's so flavourful, it's the perfect consistency. Everything about the food is great. The service was impeccable. Really friendly, sorted out the downstairs for us and even have us table service! Would definitely recommend this. Everything was perfect. The staff were 100% the best thing about the place

Bloody great place to go in Heaton moor as an alternative to the usual. Great selection of beets but the pies are the main stars. Make sure you check out the Blue and Moo.

Of the 5, yes you read that right only 5 items on the menu, they did not have 2 of them and yet they still managed every single one of my orders wrong in some way. The pies were average and the mash was clearly microwaved as it doesn't even have a kitchen. I saw them getting the mash out of plastic containers. I saw bags of what seemed to be rubbish or more pies just coming in and out of the front door and my acquaintances fork broke in half while he was eating due to them being made of cheap wood. Awful experience.

A cosy bar. Pleasant and accommodating staff, with nice clean toilets which is always a massive plus for me. 😃

Tremendous venue with an excellent vibe. Great range of soft drinks as well as beers.

My fella and I go down to Pale every now and again. The bar area is charming and the staff lovely. The beer on tap is good, there's a good variety. The pie are also fine, plenty of veggie choice and the fella liked the chicken pie he had. Neither of us overly keen on the bamboo cutlery but at least it's not plastic. So beer good, food good, staff lovely, happy to recommend to people looking for pub grub and ales.

Best bar on the Moor. Family friendly. Nice food. Great night out.

Visit: 24 March 2019 Popped in just before noon when it was quite quiet. Staff were fantastically friendly, welcoming and attentive. Some macro & craft beers on tap and what looked like a good wine selection. We didn't eat but pies are definitely their thing and if I hadn't just had food I'd have ordered one. I wouldn't ordinary mention toilets but their creative use of old beer kegs as urinals is worth mentioning as is the hi-res images decorating the doors.

Nice place to go until 7pm. Was relaxing with great background music until it hit 7pm and they turn the volume up to unbearable. ..had to shout over the table to speak so we left.

Excellent food, warm and friendly staff. The Bar is owned by a local family so they understand the need for a child/dog friendly environment in the heart of the Moor! They have a small space to hire out for events, its a stylish bunker below the main bar and can be hired out for party's or business events. Pies and Ales all day and night, try this place out... highly recommended.
