This place is hands down the worst diner I have ever eaten at, I do not exaggerate. This is host to a captive audience. If it were not a captive audience this place would have closed down decades ago. The food is completely lacking in any sort of culinary care or knowledge. My meal was both under cooked and over cooked. If you have ever watched Spongbob Squarepants this is the Chum Bucket but soooo much worse. If I could leave a minus negative review I would. This is terrible. Do not eat here, go hungry, scavenge from bins, do whatever you can…. but do not eat here.

Been to Oliver's multiple of times reasonably priced always plenty of option and makes any of my child's visits to the hospital a little better as he gets to go here afterwards or between appointments which he enjoys but today he was made to feel uncomfortable enough to want to leave early. Since covid began we have stuck to each rule to a tee especially due to being "vulnerable". We have been to Oliver's 3 times this week after appointments which we sat together and also seen others doing the same without any problem there is a sign to say one person per table but like other places, buses ect we persumed this was for people that are not in each others bubbles. So today when we went in we got our food and went to sit down ,we sat together for around 5 minutes before a women from behind the counter shouted at us for doing so. We moved to separate tables but all my son wanted to do was leave as everyone turned to look at us and he felt uncomfortable. I totally understand that if that is the rules then that's the rules but they should apply to everybody and i do not agree with the manner we was spoken to, the way it got shouted at us from behind the counter so everybody heard, the fact another two tables was sat together one of which was the next table from ours but nothing was said or directed at them nor a couple that came in after us that did the same. It just felt a little like we was targeted for some reason or other which I do not appreciate or think fair, like how do you explain to a child why we are being told we can not do something whilst he can see others doing that exact same thing. I'm am posting this as I do not want this to happen to anyone else plus its been an hour since it happened and my some keeps bringing it up so its clearly bothered him

Overpriced, disgusting food made even worse by rude, miserable staff. You can purchase much better food at Marks and Spencer in the main foyer for a fraction of the price. Avoid.

I have been visiting Oliver's for several months and noticed a gradual deterioration in service and quality. The choice of dinner options is very limited often nothing more than a burger or hot dog for an evening meal. The casseroles are often quite watery. The portions are very small, often the size of a child's meal. It's expensive for what small portions you get. It needs a much better choice of meals. I've often left more hungry than when I arrived. Some of the staff are quite miserable and need to improve their customer relations manners. Some staff are not very polite and look like they don't want to be there. On a few occasions they have even turned off some of the lights an hour before closing leaving you in dimly lit areas. Considering this is a hospital canteen I feel it needs a radical shake up.

I have never had a hot meal from the place. Also asking for anything gluten free. It's also far to expensive for visitors I for one won't be eating there again.

I have reviewed Oliver's in the past. This is a second review to highlight a few things, some good and some not so good. The good stuff first. They have modernised the deli! Now we have a deli that turns your usual sandwiches etc into a hot-treat. This has now become a favourite spot at lunch time. The staff will add cheese and fast-heat your fast-food to make it ever more delicious. Great stuff! On the flip side, I am really annoyed that they close lunch so early - at 13:45. I mean, many doctors, nurses, etc. sometimes don't get free until half past two or even three, and this means that they cannot get hot lunch. Also, on Saturdays and Sundays, the entire place closes at 13:45 hours and there is no place one can find food in the hospital except for vending machines across the trust - and that is nothing but chocolates, cereal bars and crisps. Not real food. This makes it imperative for the restaurant to stay open till 07:00 p.m. on weekends as well and continue to provide soup and supper on these days as they do on the week days,

After an appointment at the hospital we went to Olivers, I had the vegetable hotpot and my partner a turkey barm. The hotpot was a warm ( in places ) congealed mess, with under cooked potatoes, some of the vegetables were hard others soft, all in all unappealing. My partner had the turkey barm, in a word dry. We were disappointed today, in the past the food has been good, this saved them from getting one star

This is the hospital restaurant, open to the public too. At mealtimes there is an excellent choice of food, deli too. Off peak there is a lesser selection but a gondola serving area of cakes, etc. There are 2 prices, one for visitors and one for staff which seems very fair. Only open until 2 pm at weekends. Which leaves only Costa.

Average food in canteen atmosphere with sound of chairs continually scraping on the floor.Oliver's restaurant conjured up a somewhat different eatery in my mind, won't be going again.I had a baked potato with baked beans on and it didn't taste of anything, left most of it,sorry.

Although it serves as the main Staff Restaurant at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Oliver's also offers a quick and reliable Cafeteria service for Visitors. The choice of available dishes changes daily with a wide range of sandwiches, hot dishes and puddings to tempt anyone's palate.

Located inside the Victoria Hospital where I have been working since mid-November 2015, Oliver's restaurant is also known as the "Canteen" to my fellow-staff members. They are staffed with really friendly professionals. Although I have not met the kitchen staff, my interactions with all the ladies and guys who serve the food, look after the cleanliness of the place, and man the tills have been full of pleasure and happiness. I would like to just say that they make all kinds of food, but, on the whole, they are really excellent at traditional British food. I am sharing some photos here of this marvellous place

Found this place by chance as we walked past, went in for a quick lunchtime drink, stayed for two as the atmosphere was good. Good friendly staff. Nice decor, clean look. The place was empty almost empty when we arrived but soon filled up as local shop and office workers and tourists came in. Family friendly. We didn't eat but food looked good.

The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is very handy for people like myself that have to keep coming to the hospital almost everyday to see a patient. The price of the food was really cheap however the food wasn’t the best so maybe that is probably why. The restaurant is of a good size and is clean and modern. I don’t think I would come back though any time soon, for the food reasons.

Chefs good variety food and good price - very good value for money that is what I like. Can get quite busy at meal times - nice large pleasing area - ample room and there is always somewhere to sit - very quick queue (self service). Canteen staff very nice & helpful.

We have eaten here twice. What a contrast with the hospital eating facilities in other Lancashire Hospitals (especially Preston Royal Infirmary) - and what a contrast with the Costa Coffee in the Reception Area of the Victoria Hospital (downstairs)! Both times were shortly before visiting hour - the first time was in the evening, the second on a Sunday lunchtime. Both times the choice of food was extremely limited and the staff were less than welcoming. I have not eaten such unpleasing institutional food since I was a schoolchild! The only excuse at lunchtime was that we arrived towards closing hour. But it's no wonder that so many of the hospital staff and visitors choose the Costa Coffee, despite the high prices.

This place is honestly phenomenal, as a person that has Greek blood in me and spends a lot of time in the country, I can honestly say the food isn’t a mimicky interpretation, it’s the real deal. This is a little taste of Greece, only it is in little Layton. The moment you step off the street you are in a different country. Authentic, tasty, piping hot, delicious food. If you don’t know, get to know.
