Miss Ying Thai Food & Shop in Highland

Beautiful food, fresh and tasty. I love duck and rice and go back there for this dish very often. The only downside is that you need to pay by cash only, and the restaurant is really small so good to book the table in advance. Otherwise, really really tasty!

Had a very disappointing meal at a Japanese restaurant in Isle of Skye, so glad that we’ve found this little Thai restaurant in Dingwall. Food was absolutely amazing and reasonable price. The restaurant was very busy as it’s Saturday evening and there were lots of tourists, but the girl at the front remained calm and served everyone nicely.

Our experience of this restaurant could not have been better . Just a few tables so an intimate atmosphere . Service was impeccable. Warm, friendly and very quick. Food was superb and amazingly good value. You can easily pay twice as much for ordinary pub grub . Highly recommended!

We had dinner from here and undoubtedly it's the best Thai food I have eaten so far. The taste was so good and the portion size was great. Their service is top notch. We highly recommend this place for people who love Asian food.

Beautiful if you know what your picking !

What wonderful Thai food this little unassuming restaurant served up! The Dragon Duck dish was just delicious if a little spicy as was the surprisingly refreshing cold Lychee Lassi. Highly recommended.

I’ll be honest, on the outside I don’t think you’d realise the level of culinary experience going on inside; but do not be deterred! We had a group of 10 people in this petite restaurant as part of someone’s 50th birthday week. We were greeted with flowers to say happy birthday, which already put the place in very good stead. It was incredibly busy with take Aways and a full restaurant but our meals were served in a timely fashion, and were cared for very very well by the staff working here. The bill at the end felt criminally low for the amount of incredible food we ordered, which just goes to show how great and reasonable this venue is. If you’re in the area, would absolutely recommend a visit here. 10/10

Tremendous food, all freshly cooked.

We had been trying to go to this little restaurant for months, but always happened to be in the area on their day off. But finally we managed, and we were glad we booked ahead. It's very small, and busy, and that is no surprise. The food was delicious and we were surprised how cheap it was. We had starters and mains and everything was great. We will be back.

What a wonderful wee place this turned out to be. It might not look much from the outside, but the service and food were both excellent. It was also really good value for money.

Last minute dinner reservations on Friday night and was absolutely over the moon with everything! The food is outstanding, excellent value and the lassie serving us was a credit to the business, her parents and herself- best and most genuine service we've had in years. Heerlijk gegeten bij deze Thai in Dingwall. Gerechten pittig maar niet te. Ook heerlijke soep vooraf .. kip of garnalen. Zelf de spaghetti genomen met garnalen. Was voortreffelijk. Geen biertjes van de tap maar het bigTigerbeer was lekker alleen niet koud. Ook de cola was niet gekoeld. De cappuccino na was ook erg lekker. Alles heel betaalbaar. Het restaurant is klein dus vooraf reserveren. Kan vanaf 15 uur. Kortom .. ben je in Dingwall dan hoort dit op je lijstje te staan.

Real thing, no bending to abilities of Europeans, really bringing Thailand to Highlands. Highly recommended as quality is just unique.

We ordered a variety of dishes for takeaway and our food was ready to collect quickly. For some of us, it was their first time eating at Miss Ying's and they were blown away by the value of the dishes they'd ordered with the portion sizes being generous and the dishes full of flavour. For those of us who had eaten there before, everything was consistent. The front of house staff were very friendly. There is obviously a lot of care and thought put into everything they do and it shows. I cannot wait until the next time!

Very amazing authentic Thai food. Homemade. Warm atmosphere. Good music. Main courses are very fulfilling and flavourful. And it is not spicy, so anyone can enjoy. Roast Duck Pad Thai - The roast duck was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It went well with the traditional Thai green curry. The rice makes it so complete. Chicken Pad Thai - Very aromatic and flavourful with lots of textures.

First time to Miss Yings and it was a lovely experience from beginning to end. Our server Charlie could not have been friendlier nor more helpful in recommending dishes. I have a gluten intolerance and I received a separate menu which - much to my surprise - showed that the majority of items on the menu could be made gluten free. The food was amazing, the price was amazing and the hospitality was second to none. Will be back and will recommend to others.

Lovely little place. Starters were delicious but mains were a little underwhelming. Could do with having a spice scale on the menu so customers can tell which dishes are mild and which are hotter.

Great food & service! A hidden gem in Dingwall. The food is delicious and the service is excellent, quick and super friendly and welcoming. Vegetarian/vegan is available for all dishes if you want. Definitely recommend to go! Do arrive early or phone to book a table. Take away is also available

An absolute diamond in the rough. The staff are always very friendly and attentive, full of humour and kindness. Their menu is, for the dishes I have eaten, delicious and well portioned. Love the Mango Milkshakes. We're likely now in our double digits of visits to collect, sitting in next visit we hope. Keep up the good work.

Even things like the spring rolls and prawn toast are elevated, and the satay sauce is amazing! I'm here for work, and genuinely gutted I won't have food like this to takeout back home. Sure, there's the usual Chinese/Indian/kebab takeouts, but aren't they just a bit... predictable? I feel like it's the same food wherever you go in the country. I guess for many that's part of the appeal, like McDonald's, and that's okay! But for those perhaps a little more adventurous, seeking out real fresh and light food, the kind that's completely delicious and full of flavour, and you don't feel bad about your life decisions afterwards? It's gotta be Miss Ying's!

My wife's Thai and when she ordered spicy spicy the chef came to make sure who ordered it knew. Great touch. The food was excellent.

Klein, aber fein. Wirklich lecker, wer will, kann richtig scharf essen. Vernünftige Preise. Wer asiatische Küche mag, ist hier auf jeden Fall richtig. Unbedingt vorher reservieren, wenn nan vor Ort essen möchte, da es nicht viele Plätze gibt. Aber man kann auch zum mitnehmen bestellen.

Lovely food lovely owner and staff. We enjoy spicy so on the side we have Prik nam Plaa which was no problem the owner even asked us if we needed anything special just ask it's no problem. We visited twice and both times the food was brilliant thank you to Miss Ying and her staff for making us feel very welcome 😁🙏😎👍

Don't be put off by the outside appearance of the building .. the dishes we ordered were perfectly wonderful, not overcooked, spicy but not overpowering and with a generous amount of chicken, duck and vegetables. Great service, great value for money ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a small family run business from what would have been an old high street shop - we do not know the family personally apart from eating in and Regular takeaways…… all I can say is that having visited and experienced RN ail and multiple times - we have ate most things on this menu & do not have a complaint - it is what it is

It’s a busy little gem. The staff were very nice and helpful, the food was delicious and the price was great. We had a starter platter, crispy duck & curry fried rice and a special: deep fried fish with spicy & sweet sauce and they were all good. The portion was generous and they have a wee shop too.

The Thai takeaway was a huge dissapointment. Nothing like Thai food at all. The duck was rubbery, completely tasteless, like it had been heated up served on loads of cabbage with a watery sauce. My husbands chicken curry was awful, with hardly any chicken and a whole onion covered in green curry sauce which was very unappetising. All in all, the worst Thai meal we have ever had and we will not be back.

Great atmosphere playing down tempo, trip hop music. Super friendly waitress. Superb food with speedy delivery. Front of shop could maybe do with a touch up of you care for aesthetics but personally it adds to the charm. Didn't manage to snap the soup, mixed starter or duck main but here's the pud.

We had a delicious meal here on Saturday night , so glad we had booked a table in advance , it was so busy with takeaways people coming in and out , expertly managed by the cheerful staff , it's a wee gem , a restaurant, shop and takeaway in one , we had four dishes, spoiling ourselves,each one fresh and tasty ,so nice and individually seasoned and flavoured, we will definitely go there again ,even though it's 150 miles from home!! And also very reasonably priced ,no wonder it was busy

We have used Miss Ying's every weekend for over 4 years. It was closed for a month of February 2023 - OK they deserved a good holiday but it has not reopened and I am GUTTED. We have been spoilt as we have tried most of the other Chippers, Chinese and Indians in Dingwall and Evanton over the past two months and they are dismal in comparison. BRING BACK MISS YINGS

Traditional Thai food. Spicy and very tasty. Chicken satay, Tom yum and red curry were all delicious and as good as in Thailand, but still very reasonably priced for the UK.

Great food, seemed very fresh and lots of choice. Would be good to have a spice rating on the menu as my boyfriend got hit by a surprisingly hot dish. Lower score for atmosphere as the queue for the takeaway/collection is in the dining area, meaning they stand and watch you eat your food while they're waiting, which is a bit intimidating. Lovely staff. Will visit again for sure.

I had the Pat King and it was frwsh and delicious, the spring rolls were the best too. This was last week and I'm getting it again tonight because it's so good.

Visited on a quiet Thurs evening , had a chat with the staff and ordered. Wow ! Fantastic and fresh Thai food exceptionally well balanced taste and just the right amount. The rice was beautifully cooked and fluffy and sticky , the sea bass was great with the three spices. Definitely a hidden gem with very friendly staff and very reasonably priced.

This was my first take away from here. The food was superbly spiced and incredibly tasty. Also the prices were very fair. A really crisp and fragrant tast to the food with just the right amount of spices. A fantastic meal.

Frankly, it's a crime that I haven't left a review before now. I have eaten here for years and it still blows me away. You can tell that there is a level of care over the quality of food that is rarely seen in small establishments like this. They are always busy for good reason. Arguably some of the best, freshest Thai food in Scotland. I get withdrawals when I'm back in Dundee.

Best food in Scotland in our opinion, we've travelled all around albeit a whistle-stop tour but honestly if you're staying here or near by you must, must! Have miss ying food. We have the no25 duck with peppers, mushroom chilli lime and rice, mind blowing! The mixed platter with satay sauce is also to die for. Would have more photos but was too delicious

It's fabulous food in a very real absolutely zero frills setting with a very warm welcome. Nothing pretentious about here. They certainly took card when we were there
