Millbrook Fish & Chip Shop in Tameside

Just moved into carrbrook after retirement from owning my own chippy in Huddersfield, this chippy needs urgent help, warmed up fish. Just about warm chips threw them away not to my taste. Always cook fish to order and keep chips on the go. Needs a new chef. !!!

Stopped by Millbrook fish and chips as was passing through the area for work on a Monday lunchtime, ordered small fish and chips, which were cooked to order. They were reasonable value, but the fish wasn't all that good, possibly not the freshest and the chips tasted a bit greasy. Maybe this was just an off day.

The friendly staff shop is cleaning the food It is very hot plenty of chips large or small portions and a choice of sizes in the fish again large or small just a great English chippy

Had a drive here today and glad I did the food here is quality and fresh had rag pudding chips peas and gravy 1 of the best I’ve had…. rag pudding hard to come by nowadays the chips were actually proper chippy chips and the fish wow very friendly staff… will definitely be going back

How can I order curry sauce bee served gravy obviously ruined my meal completely to far to drive back their now so thanks for that

I’m not one to bother with reviews but felt I need too this time. Called in tonight for fish and chips and have got to say they were delicious. Portions were very big and wow the fish was fresh and I can honestly say it was the best I have had for a long long time. I would 100% recommend this chippy. Best chippy for miles around. Not only that the staff are really friendly and welcoming.

THE worst Chippy I’ve ever had. Got 2 chip barms, don’t know if they were the chips from the day before, but never had anything like it. Dry, cardboard like chips, even with loads of salt and vinegar. Can’t understand how this place has 4.6 stars if they are happy to dish out stuff like that! Not like it was even cheap, £5.10 for 2 chip barms!!! Fed them to the ducks on the canal and even they turned their beaks up!!

Quite expensive for a chippy, fish is always in the or warmer when I go in which I'm not a fan of as I'd rather it be cooked fresh. Not many alternatives in walking distance at dinner time though.

One of the best, on this side of the Pennines. 2x Fish and 1x Chips was more than enough for two hungry people and, might have done for three (less hungry) people!
